I’d LOVE a Loewe puzzle bag 😍

peaceanddove · 28/02/2022 10:26
@DoThePropeller have you looked at Strathberry? They’re less than £1K but lovely bags, you could get two!

I love bags and I know Mulberry are a bit unpopular on here but I love mine. I have an oxblood Tessie satchel which I use loads, a rust Leighton and a navy blue mini kite (less well used). I love their styling and leather. I’d love a Lily with silver hardware. Or a Darley. Or an Amberley 😂
I have the medium sized Darley in quilted black with silver hardware. It is a thing of beauty that random strangers have admired.

All you holier than thou posters with your snider comments who can't possibly understand how OP is so vulgar to want to spend £1000 on a bag, she's not asking you is she?

Just scroll on by, your opinions on spending the money on curtains or charity are irrelevant

Evoll671 · 28/02/2022 12:30

@Ff10n why would you spend £100 on a bag? Why not spend £10 or even better use a carrier bag, and donate it all to charity?

DoThePropeller · 28/02/2022 12:30

Maybe a smaller bag is the way, wanting to fit all my stuff in seems to be restrictive - I use a Remarkable for note taking that I like to have on me (similar size to an iPad) and was hoping for something that would fit that plus small make up bag, air pods, phone charger, purse etc.

Or maybe I need two bags with one very much for the office and another for lunch and drinks. I’m trying to get one bag to do a lot for me otherwise!

Good point re the Antigona coming to the end of its life and I’ll take a look at Strathberry too.

@DoThePropeller I have had similar issues in the past, trying to find a big enough bag that I love.
What has been helpful for me was to buy the smaller bag that I love, and also have a Longchamp Le pliage on hand for days when I need to carry lots of stuff.

HiGunny · 28/02/2022 14:27

@TheDarrellRivers I did the exact same! I spent ages agonising and eventually bought a mini Alexa in tan as my splurge and a Pliage Club. Love them both! I'm working from home so have used the Alexa lots for going shopping etc and it's smart enough for nights out as well ( I don't go anywhere too fancy these days!)

TheDarrellRivers · 28/02/2022 14:37

@HiGunny hehe! Great minds think alike.

Yes, it's a really good compromise for me too.

Not v practical but I like the whimsy of this one www.net-a-porter.com/en-gb/shop/product/alaia/bags/cross-body/le-coeur-leather-shoulder-bag/25185454455747737

DramaAlpaca · 28/02/2022 15:36

@bendmeoverbackwards I have the midi tote in embossed burgundy which goes with everything, a Multrees chain wallet in black/vanilla which is really classy for evenings, and I nabbed an East/West mini in the archive sale. I love them all Smile

RosesAndHellebores · 28/02/2022 20:13

Yes I think what one needs is important. I personally like a nice, small crossover that contains: keys, phone, small wallet, oyster, very small notebook. For work I have a rucksack as well, for weekends I have a tote (Coach and Ralph Lauren). So handy for shopping bits now we don't get bags.

I have a very nice evening bag, bought from Harvey Nicks ten years ago. Not branded but several hundred at the time Blush.

superplumb · 01/03/2022 17:22

Can I stretch to 1200 and get a new lv?

Lookingoutside · 01/03/2022 19:20

‘I honestly don't understand the handbag thing. I realise that's not the point of your thread. Is that really want you want to do with your money? Maybe give it to charity.’

WTF??!!!! 😂

OP I love the new squishy puffy Mulberry bags. The smallest is over budget though. Loewe puzzle too. Although I haven’t checked the prices recently.

Enjoy your new bag, whichever you get.

Ooh no. Have to disagree I'm afraid. They remind me of puffa jackets.

Sweetandsaltycaroline · 01/03/2022 19:44

I'm completely not into handbags but I'd happily spend £1000 if it was available to me, on something else luxurious or not 100% necessary so while I can't advise on bags I wouldn't be judgemental about those who like them!

Lookingoutside · 01/03/2022 20:04

‘Ooh no. Have to disagree I'm afraid. They remind me of puffa jackets.’

That’s fair. I just love puffa anything. Grin

Holothane · 01/03/2022 20:15

I love them Pufffa ones the blue one is gorgeous.

valerianaofficiana · 02/03/2022 09:08

Second hand Chanel from reputable outlet.

Lookingoutside · 02/03/2022 09:23

‘I love them Pufffa ones the blue one is gorgeous.’

Isn’t it? @Holothane

I’m torn between the smallest in blue and the more sensible black in medium. The one with the chain and top handle, not the shopper type one. Could get both for half the price of one Chanel classic flap!

luckylavender · 02/03/2022 09:26

I wouldn't.

Lookingoutside · 02/03/2022 09:49

Demellier London have some nice bags around the £500 mark. You could get a tote and a clutch with some money left over for celebration drinks. Smile🥂

Bbub · 02/03/2022 12:55

I'm absolutely steaming drunk after reading this whole thread 🥴🤣

OP I hope you find a nice bag and enjoy treating yourself! I would also love a bag that fits a lot in like you say but I always worry about ruining it by stuffing too much in. 2 different ones for the work day may be a good shout but I don't know if that means you have to double your budget 😅

I'm absolutely in love with the small gucci cross body horse bit one linked up thread. I'm thinking on my commuting days I shove my laptop in my backpack along with make up etc and then have a gorgeous cross body for purse and essentials for popping out with for lunch...

MargosKaftan · 02/03/2022 13:37

The bayswater is very heavy, its good for a "from the car to desk with lots of stuff" bag, not great for commuting on foot/public transport when you have to carry it. There is a lighter bayswater tote, but that's more casual looking (and is quite a bit under budget so you could get it plus a nice purse).

I quite like the Anya Hindmarsh Ebury tote. That would be in budget.

ArabeI · 02/03/2022 13:52

Something plain from Coach, possibly. Not impressed with Mulberry quality in more recent years.

LondonWolf · 02/03/2022 13:55

I'm adding £350.00 to my £1000.00 and getting this one.
