This is "Beauty addicts anonymous", a wonderful community of beauty product addicts & we have been going a hot minute... some may say we are enablers... many would say that they are much more intentional about their stashing and usage since joining this sisterhood.

Two empties… Gargantuan bottle of purple Toni & Guy shampoo. MUCH better product than the Kerastaaaaarse one I had before it. I have another already. A bottle of Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Day Miracle Acne Wash. I originally bought it for my son but he was immediately put on Roaccutane, and it was a bit harsh. I won’t miss smelling of Tea Tree, but it did wonders for my lizard skin. I imagine it would be fab if you have keratosis pilaris. Having said that, I’m going to invest in some Sugar Crush body cream instead. Smells better.

WellTidy · 16/02/2022 11:18

@Justilou1 thank you. I’m still suffering (and feeling hugely sorry for myself) - all I’m using is the emollient, but my skin is still very dry and rough feeling indeed. Not a rough as it was yesterday, but I think I’m a fair way off being able to use anything but very boring emollient.

I do an an empty though! Occitane almond shower oil 50ml - as lovely as ever. Great scent, lovely feel and one that I use again and again as I am either given it or I get it in a GWP from occitane when I buy a gift for someone else and pocket the GWP for myself (which I do frequently as their online offers are excellent.

Experiment627 · 18/02/2022 06:43

I have an empty to report:

  • Superdrug Me+ salicylic acid cleanser: ok but not a wow

Still feeling ridiculously sorry for myself, but reporting an empty. It a actually DS’ empty, but it has been sitting on the side of the bath for too long. Body shop strawberry shower gel 50ml. Fine as a bath foam. Not something I’d normally use as I don’t like typically fruity scents but glad not to be seeing it on the side of the bath any longer.

Justilou1 · 18/02/2022 12:19

I’m sorry you are still feeling bleh @WellTidy… I hope that your sensitivity clears up and you get back to normal. X

Not many empties for me this week (and an incoming gwp from Space NK!!)

Sisley Eye and Lip Contour Cream - This was so good, lovely and rich, my maturing skin definitely liked it. It's £155 for 15ml, but is definitely on my wish list.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Deep Conditioning Treatment- I find this ok, but nothing special, there are definitely other hair conditioning treatments I prefer.

Genius Liquid Collagen - it's often hard to know how good a sample size of product is, but this was pleasant to use and my skin felt soft and looked good whilst using this, so I think it's pretty good.

I'm feeling very virtuous this week, with 6 (albeit miniscule) empties.

I love the L'Occitane serum and may repurchase eventually. The Cerave feels very nourishing. I have a lot of body stuff in stock though. The L'Oreal serums were nice but nothing special.

I bought the Rodial serum as it claimed to reduce pores. My pores have suddenly appeared in the last few years and I would like them to return to their previously invisible state. Anyway, they look the same after the 4 or 5 days worth of serum in the bottle. I knew it was small, but I didn't realise it was that small.

Finished up these 2 today, love them both and always have spares ready to go.

Oh, and this which I’ve been using at night after my dermatica. Was really nice, rich but not heavy, light fruity scent, absorbed nicely and actually left my skin feeling hydrated. I would consider buying this when I need to buy a night moisturiser again (which won’t be for a very long time!).

Talk me down from the ledge. Pat McGrath 25%off on the website. Do I need it? No. I just really feel shit (bad medical news) and want a cheer up.

TheChosenTwo · 19/02/2022 13:10

@Justilou1 anything from Pat McGrath takes AGES to come… does that help?!
Sorry about the bad news by the way Flowers

OchonAgusOchonOh · 19/02/2022 14:30

@Justilou1 - hope your news is easily treatable.

Justilou1 · 20/02/2022 00:44

Thanks @OchonAgusOchonOh. Nothing end of the world. Just more proof that I’m from the shallow end of the gene pool, and will need scary surgery in the next few years. (Am actually very grateful that I found out now because some people don’t until too late.)

That's a very positive outlook. It will stand to you. Best of luck with it.

@OchonAgusOchonOh
Pretty sure PatMcGrath eyeshadow would make me feel better… (although currently looking for cheaper and more practical alternatives.)

This week's empties:

19) Agera Salicylic Face Wash: this is a HG product that I buy quite regularly. If find that it really helps if I get a breakout.

20) Calm Apothecary Body Wash: from M&S calendar. I liked the scent but it's quite subtle and not long lasting.

21) Shani Darden Texture Reform: OK. Didn't notice that it made any difference to my skin, but only a small size.

Empties this year: 21/125

Caggie09 · 20/02/2022 13:51

This weeks empties.
I feel like for the past two weeks ive let myself slip, and be lazy with my routines. So next week im making sure i do them, i always feel much better when i stick to a routine!

58/100

Revolution volume dry shampoo. I actaully picked this up while at work, as i made this mistake of misjudging my hair then to my horror at work i looked like a greasy mess. I liked this, banished the grease and i did add volume too. The only downside is, when you ran your fingers through your hair you could feel the build up. Id RP though as its affordable.

Bumble and bumble Texture spray. This was empty in my drawer, no idea why i left it there. I think i liked this, bit ive not used it for yearsBlush

Colourwow security shampoo & condtioner sachet. Actually prefer Mane&Tail ones over this. Was okay. I got a fullsize shampoo when i ordered dreamcoat, so thats added to stash.

Le Petit Marseillais honey shower gel. I love these shower gels. Once im out of these im totally ordering every single scent possibleGrin For a budget shower gel, they really are great. They leave the bathroom smelling amazing, and my skin. But your skin doesnt feel dry once out the shower, feels so soft!

Lacura Ginseng sheet mask.

Erborian CC Dull correct sachet. Ive always wanted to get along with this brand, whenever ive tried the other CC or BB creams, even in the lighest shade i just look orange! I got multiple uses out of this, and i really liked it. Im not wearing foundation as often, and this gives me a natural finish without feeling like theres anything on my face. Only need a little and it does the job. Id possibly RP this!

Finding this thread very motivating, thanks @Experiment627 and fellow beauty hoarders!

I’ve been using up lots of miniatures from GWPs and advent calendars to make a dent in my stash.

Aromatherapy Associates renew rose body cream: it was fine, I’m guessing it’s pricey so wouldn’t repurchase as body creams tend to be much of a muchness on me.

Clinique smart SPF15 moisturiser: liked but probably a bit heavy for me for daytimes.

Clinique smart eye treatment: have had this in a larger pump size and like it - the only eye cream I’ve tried that seems to make a difference! Can’t RP right now though as I’ve about a hundred eye cream samples to use up.

REN cleansing milk: as a PP said, I always seem to have REN stuff around without knowingly buying it! This was quite nice, left my face soft.

Aveda stress fix body lotion: nice enough but standard body cream.

Clinique moisture surge: LOVED this. Will probably buy once stash of moisturisers is smaller.

White Company body wash: nice smell, nothing extraordinary.

Margaret Dabbs hand cream: must’ve been from a Liberty GWP as there’s always a Dabbs product in there! But this is gorgeous: silky, sinks in well, smells beautiful

Maranello · 20/02/2022 19:46

Couple more! I've been powering through them this week.

Evolve rose quartz face polish: meh.

Fresh soy face cleanser: left my face a bit tight and smells AWFUL. Used remainder of the tube to shave my legs just to use it up!

TheChosenTwo · 20/02/2022 20:13

@Maranello I feel that way about that fresh cleanser too, very drying and stinks!

Maranello · 20/02/2022 21:03

@TheChosenTwo honestly couldn't bear it on my face because of the smell!

Ponks · 20/02/2022 21:16

Exactly how I feel about the Fresh soy cleanser too, I actively avoid any GWP or gift boxes that include it as I dislike it so much.

TheChosenTwo · 20/02/2022 21:28

And it also left my face feeling squeaky clean like I’d used a bar of soap Envy

WellTidy · 20/02/2022 21:35

@Justilou1 I just wanted to let you know that I think my skin has recovered. Wore make up (no primer, just Laura nervier tinted moisturiser as a substitute for foundation) for the first time in three weeks today, and no reaction. So hopefully I am back to normal. Thank you for the advice and support. I hope your medical news is treatable.

An empty: Occitane almond body moisturiser 50ml. I love this. Light, moisturising and the scent is right up my street. That’s the last of my almond occitane goodies. Loads more body creams in the stash to plough through.
