This is "Beauty addicts anonymous", a wonderful community of beauty product addicts & we have been going a hot minute... some may say we are enablers... many would say that they are much more intentional about their stashing and usage since joining this sisterhood.

Welcome @IHateHeatWaves !!! You sure travel in style!!!

Fraaahnces · 17/08/2022 11:39

The ruthless eyeshadow culling continues... (I am supposed to be doing an assignment. Talk about procrastinating.). Gone are three ELF Bite-Size Quads in Truffle (This is by far the best of the three), Rose Water (Totally chalky), and Acai You (I bought it for a costume party.)...Nars Afterglow Palette. Too much orange for me. I think I prefer cooler tones this days, or more transparent finishes. I would honestly only use two or three shades in this palette, and so rarely, it's better to give to someone who loves it. It is followed by their miniature Voyageur palette in Suede. I have similar shades in formulations I prefer. I don't think that these are the good Nars eyeshadow formulation I have come to expect. (On the subject of Nars, I am throwing out my Orgasm Multiple stick. It's not my colour. DD1 loves it, so it can be hers. I have a mini too, I think.). Singles that are going are Bourjois - A L'eau de Rose. Barely shows up on my eyelids, but the glitter fall out on my cheeks is outstanding. Colourpop Supershock Eyeshadows in Mixed Tape (Gorgeous Taupe, but I had two and am keeping one.). 3 - was lovely, but is now bullet-proof. Truth - too glittery for me, and Birthday Girl. It's a bit unicorn fairy princess mermaid for me. Also a L'Oreal Gold Single with the name rubbed off. Nothing wrong with it, but I won't use it. (Have kept the silver and the black ones, though.)
Considering giving DD1 my Natasha Denona Mini Glam palette as too warm for me as well. I have similar shades in other palettes.

Keeping ND Minis - Love, Retro and Gold, plus the Love Palette I purchased recently. Revlon So Fierce quads in Slight Flex, That's a Dub, Tantrum and Fully Loaded. (These are really great, usable palettes that are often half price here in the drugstore. I have no compunction using these for travelling.) Nars St Germain des Pres - I love this palette AND the packaging is to die for. Makeup by Mario - Rosey Quad. This is fabulous. Four Colourpop Supershocks (for now) Two aged Pat Mc Grath mini palettes - Eye Ecstasy Sublime and Eye Ecstasy Subversive, the two L'oreal singles I mentioned before in black and silver and a gorgeous Korean eyeshadow single by Missha, called Modern Shadow Glitter Prism in the shade Blue Hole which is actually a satiny, creamy, transparent eyeshadow with tiny flecks of blue and brown.

I think I can whittle this down more.

Fraaahnces · 17/08/2022 13:02

@IHateHeatWaves - I love your name (also hate heat waves - great here in Aus) and love the way you travel!

Experiment627 · 17/08/2022 18:27

@Fraaahnces blimey!!! You really are on a mission! Well done!

supadupapupascupa · 18/08/2022 13:30

Shiiiiiiiiit Liberty calendar looks great for me.......

I really hope Harrods is not good this year otherwise I'm going to end up undoing all the doing!!!!!!!

MidnightMeltdown · 18/08/2022 18:02

I don't know how they do it either @Fraaahnces

The flight is around 22 hours without even considering time to go through customs and transfers to and from the airport. I'm sure that they must have a warehouse somewhere on that side of the world.

I think that you'll have to buy an advent calendar so that we can test out the delivery time 😂

OchonAgusOchonOh · 18/08/2022 18:44

Elemis cleansing balm. Really like this. I have 2 more, smaller tubs to go.

Alpha h liquid gold. Don't think it did much for me. I still have another to go through.

MZ Skin eye mask. Really liked this. I don't like single user stuff but thought I might RP for occasional use. I lost that notion very quickly when I realised it's €80 for a pack oh 5!!! That's €16 per use, or €8 per eye per use. Mad.

Hi all. Fell off the thread!

Not had too many empties to report until today, as we are at the end of the hols and I've used up a few minis.

  1. Olaplex 3 full size. HG, have 2 more in the stash
  1. Skin and me tube. I finished this a few weeks ago and haven't restarted due to the
Sun. Will recommence in September.
  1. Malin + Goetz rum body
Wash mini. Surprisingly nice but won't repurchase due to cost.
  1. Lancôme bi facil eye remover mini. HG - I've already purchased a full size and will be using this to refill the smaller bottle for travelling.
  1. Kiehls face wash mini. Boring.
  1. Rodial dragon's blood HA face mist
Mini. feels nice for the 2 seconds it goes on. Won't buy.
  1. Charlotte Tilbury full fat lashes. Really good for fluffy lashes. Might repurchase when the rest of my mascaras finish.
  1. Olaplex oil. It's rubbish. And I have a full one in the stash left to use.

Unfortunately I've bought the milkshake leave in conditioner, some tubes of prescription tret and azaleic acid on my hols. Plus a massive haul of La labo hotel minis. The stash just gets bigger 🤦🏽‍♀️

Well done everyone.

PomRuns · 19/08/2022 15:19

@declutteringmymind I really liked that body wash too - wish it was cheaper.

Ponks · 19/08/2022 21:46

Catching up with some empties, I've really gone through the moisturiser stash with only a couple left now!

  • Aldi Q10 day cream, this was fine, nicer when mixed with a couple of drops of rosehip oil.
  • Sainsburys My Skin Matters day cream, meh, bit too light but again fine mixed with oil. Don't like having a glass jar, can't keep it in cupboard over basin just in case!
  • Paula's Choice vitamin c booster, too watery for me, I like a gloopy serum or oil. No noticeable effects.
  • Medik8 Adavanced Day Ultimate Protect spf50: really nice but unfortunately £££ so unlikely to repurchase unless some great offer on. Have replaced with Ultraviolette Supreme Screen as they had a BoGOF offer recently.
  • Sanctuary hot sugar scrub, thank goodness I've finally finished that pot, I now realise I'm not keen on body scrubs.
Fraaahnces · 20/08/2022 01:58

I have decided to strike while the irony’s hot. Clearing room for the 8 Clionadh eyeshadows I have purchased (to ensure best value for money as postage is so high… it would seem I can justify anything.) I decided that all of my singles except the L’Oréal Silver one are going. I’m even going to pull out the shades in the ND Love palette that I don’t use and hope the Clionadh ones fit in it. I’m 50. Pretty sure I don’t need red eyeshadow. I haven’t been to a costume party for ages, so it’s unlikely I’m going to need it.

Fraaahnces · 20/08/2022 02:40

This is the eyeshadow declutter. Please excuse the shadow smudges on the bed (and dog hair. We had a random clap of thunder and were joined by a giant, quivering mess of a dog in the wee hours.)

Experiment627 · 20/08/2022 05:11

Wow @Fraaahnces you really are going for it! Good on you! Does anyone ever need red eyeshadow? I cannot imagine it being a good look on anyone 🧐

IHateHeatWaves · 20/08/2022 09:09

Anyone ever thought of selling full, unopened bottles on local Facebook? I’m sure some would buy. I would buy things I religiously used.

IHateHeatWaves · 20/08/2022 09:16

Some more empties to report, although my holiday stash is not depleting as quickly as thought:

  1. Finally ditched the glove shower scrubber. Absolutely grim to have them lying around going manky.

  2. Finished my in-shower St.Tropez gradual tanner. Then got worried I’d stained holiday rental shower floor and had to scrub it down.

  3. Finished a Sanctuary salt scrub bottle. Too harsh, never again.

  4. Some small hoarded things off planes such as spa destress rollers.

Been moisturising body every day and religiously doing cleanse, tone, serum, face cream, then St.Tropez face mist (latter every other day).

I reckon I’m looking younger 🫠

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 20/08/2022 10:34

@Experiment627 i have gray eyes and red toned eyeshadow makes them look really blue. It’s like witchcraft.

Obviously you have to be verrrrrrry careful to ensure that you don’t tip over into a ‘crying my eyes out for a week’ look.

ajandjjmum · 20/08/2022 12:33

@declutteringmymind I need to know where you stay to get Le Labo minis!

wheresmyshoe · 20/08/2022 13:35

I'm eyeing up advent calendars so need this thread.
I've just finished a Costa Brazil - kaya jungle firming oil. I got on really well with it bar the slippy awkward bottle. I have another to start from a GWP but wouldn't pay full price for it.

Minnie123456 · 21/08/2022 00:24

Back with a few empties:
Soap&Glory The Righteous Butter-Original- I loved this, the scent was amazing and it absorbed into my skin straight away, would RP.

Clairns men anti fatigue serum- this was a sample that Dh had and was never going to use. This lasted for ages even though it was only a 3ml tube. I don't think it made much of a difference to the dark circles under my eyes.

Loreal Elvive dream lengths conditioner-this used to be a HG for me but recently it has started to make my hair lank and greasy so have changed to a different conditioner.

No7 protect & perfect day cream- this was ok, I might RP if it's on offer

Radox muscle soak- used this when I had a sore back, the smell was abit over powering but would probably RP.
Full 11
Sample 1

Have been reading the thread on advent calenders - I MUST RESIST!!!

Fraaahnces · 21/08/2022 06:13

@Experiment627 I have worn red eyeshadow on stage and for costume do’s. It makes my eyes laser green, when normally they’re pretty nondescript. I have worn a look similar to the top left one on stage (was a Rococo thing with very high lavender hair complete with butterflies and birds and matching very wide skirt!) It’s fun to play with but often stains the skin. There is a very fine line between artful application and looking like terrible inflammation.

Fraaahnces · 21/08/2022 06:14

Red eyeshadow looks

Experiment627 · 21/08/2022 06:21

Ah the whole colour wheel trickery! I stand corrected! Red can work! All I know is I used a dark orange once and looked like a rabbit from Watership Down 🙈

Fraaahnces · 21/08/2022 06:25

I am familiar with the lab test bunny look. That’s me with purple - purple anything!!!

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 21/08/2022 09:33

Myxomatoses chic is not a good look.
