This is "Beauty addicts anonymous", a wonderful community of beauty product addicts & we have been going a hot minute... some may say we are enablers... many would say that they are much more intentional about their stashing and usage since joining this sisterhood.

@Justilou1 you definitely deserve a treat- I hope all goes well.
@WellTidy glad you are feeling better and your skin has improved. I had a big bottle of the Elemis- I think the balm is better.
We’re away - took my travel sizes , hopefully a few empties to report next week.

Justilou1 · 21/02/2022 02:02

@WellTidy! I’m so happy for you!!! I know first-hand how vulnerable/exposed I felt during my battle with perioral/periorbital dermatitis. (Not to mention the pain and feeling the need to explain myself to rude, intrusive people.) These photos are clearly not me (no way would I let a camera - or a piercing gun - near me!) but this is what mine was like.

Experiment627 · 21/02/2022 06:17

I fell off the thread 🙈🙈🙈 sometimes the alerts don't happen! Really do not understand!

@Justilou1 sorry about the bad news! I say reach for the make-up! I mean seriously there are worse reaches to have!

@Caggie09 where are you finding Le Petit Marsellais???? I was thinking just the other day I wish I had a source!

Thanks for the lovely feedback @Maranello ☺️

@WellTidy great news about your skin!

I have an empty:

  • Liz Earle instant boost skin tonic: hmm 🤔 not sure what this did. Smell ok.

@Justilou1 that looks so painful. My DH has psoriasis all over apart from his face. It's more under control now but when it flares he does not want to leave the house. Skin conditions are so much more debilitating than many people realise.

@WellTidy good news your skin has cleared up now.

Some empties here

Clinique take the day off. First time using this and I love it for my dry skin. Very similar to eve lom cleanser but no beautiful smell and a lot cheaper. I use it with Liz Earle Muslin wipes before bed. Will carry on using.

Kiehls powerful strength line reducing concentrate. Just using this up as just not enough for my skin anymore. When I first started using this a few years ago I received so many compliments about my skin. But I think my older drier skin now needs more, so moving on to a more potent vitamin C serum now. This only has 12.5% which is not really enough now.

Sorry for jumping on, but I am a bit of a lurker - @Justilou1 how did you resolve your PD? I have a very persistent case at the minute and although it has improved, it definitely has not been cured. Any tips appreciated!
Sorry to hear about your other health problems

Experiment627 · 21/02/2022 16:15

@Caggie09 I placed an order with 2 shower gels to try!!! plus lots of other stuff

I have two more empties to report:

  • E45 itch relief cream: got this for my son but did not help his eczema (which he seems to have grown out of) - so I used this up on my upper arms as has urea in it... but saw no KP improvement
  • Soap & Glory clean on me body wash: this was in an advent. Did not mind the smell (usually I find Soap & Glory too sweet) but no way a fave.

@Experiment627 Ohh enjoy when it arrives!!

Experiment627 · 21/02/2022 16:37

I plan to @Caggie09!!! Although I was supposed to be moving to soap after using my current shower gel....

Hi @Whiffle77… I am lucky that I have a GP that listens to me, and prescribed a topical immunosuppressant. She trusted that I would only used it on the affected areas and be SUPER careful with sun protection. (Vital where we live, but super vital anyway.) PD is absolutely misunderstood and most doctors simply say that it goes away when you leave it alone. Absolute bullshit. I had it for years. The immunosuppressant sorted it out. There are a few out there… Protopic (1% Tacrolimus) is safe to use on the face. I used Elidel, (Pimecrolimus) but that was the only one out at the time. I believe it is stronger, and not approved for the face - but I understood that and accepted the risk.

Justilou1 · 21/02/2022 23:10

@Experiment627 - I just finished a bottle of Some By Mi 30 Days Miracle AHA BHA PHA body wash that would be great for KP. (There is a whole range, actually.) Despite the ridiculously long name, it’s very gentle and soothing, but super effective. Smells of tea tree oil though. (Read the reviews on iHerb… here, but you can undoubtedly source it for less elsewhere. au.iherb.com/pr/some-by-mi-miracle-acne-clear-body-cleanser-14-10-oz-400-g/100376?rcode=AMB8895)
Also, Salli Hughes recommends Sugar Crush body lotion if DS can handle fragranced things… might be a bit TOO fragranced. Perhaps the SBM above would be better.

Experiment627 · 22/02/2022 05:41

Thanks for this @Justilou1
The KP does not bother me that much/is not that bad. Although I may well focus on it more when I slim down. I am currently on a mega health & fitness drive... once I can actually fit into a cossie things like that may seem more important again!

Thank you! Mine did used to go away if I stopped using anything on it, but this current bout of it is really sticking around which is frustrating. A lot better than it was but nowhere near perfect. Having some success with lyonsleaf products at the minute, will have a Google on those ones you mentioned. Everyone's seems to react so differently to various creams though, it is frustrating.
OchonAgusOchonOh · 22/02/2022 09:29

Two more empties.

I really like the shampoo. It smells lovely and works well.

The moisturiser was nice, although a bit light for night use so I just used it in the morning. Wouldn't bother repurchasing though.

Another body cream gone.
I found this scent rather boring. Plus this monster sized body butter from BS, took a month to use up, i wouldnt of minded it if was an exciting scent. Done the job though👍

59/100.

I have two empties to report:

  • Superdrug B. micellar water: was ok but not amazeballs
  • The Inkey List moisturiser: this actually worked well with Superdrug Me+ boosters but overall not the most moisturising of creams. I actually used up as a body cream. Also the dispenser thing is a bit annoying.

Experiment627 · 25/02/2022 12:46

I have some more empties to report:

  • Liz Earle botanical shine shampoo & conditioner: really liked these - some days my hair was lovely and soft and lush with this combo, other days not so much. Would RP but alas I have been lured by pastures new....
  • Liz Earle instant boost skin tonic: absolutely no clue what this does. At least I don't think it made matters worse, when it ran out I swapped for:
  • Boots glycerin & rose water: cheap as chips but again like with Liz Earle not too sure of the purpose

I am treating myself to a facial later - cannot wait!

An empty: four sachets (they were quite small, or maybe I was a bit too liberal in the application) of a Dermalogica face mask. Quite moisturising, and enjoyed using it, but nothing that special. Thankfully my skin hasn’t reacted to it so I think I’m properly in the clear now. I’m enjoying wearing make up again and feeling more human.

Also Superdrug almond foot sheet type mask bought on impulse as only £1.99 and on 3 for 2 this week. Surprisingly nice!

Also 30ml Molton Brown cypress and sea fennel (or something like that) shower gel which I used as a bath foam. I have another two of these in the stash. Perfectly nice but a hotel freebie scent that I wouldn’t actively choose to buy.

I broke my ‘no buy 2022’ and it’s not even the end of February yet. Forgiving myself as they were purchases for the house - M&S liquid almond hand soap and hand balm. Only about £2 each. Bargains.

Lavender24 · 25/02/2022 14:54

Oh I want to join!

I have two empties - The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. Like it but I have just ordered the Marine Hyaluronics also from The Ordinary to try this time.

  • The Body Shop Drops of Youth Cream. Love this - like putting silk ion my face.
Experiment627 · 25/02/2022 18:33

@WellTidy I am so glad your skin is feeling happier.

Welcome @Lavender24 !!!

I love the Petit Marseille Almond shower cream @Caggie09 ! It's one of my favourites in the whole wide world Smile sadly DH also loves it, and doesn't use it sparingly Confused

supadupapupascupa · 27/02/2022 11:17

Checking in with my February usage. A mixed month. I tried vitamin c and retinol with disasterous results so stopped mid month and returned to calm.

MZ Skin eye masks
I really enjoyed using these. Much laughter from the kids. Not sure what they do but I love the cooling effect they gave. A RP for me.

ESPA positivity bath & shower gel
As with all ESPA products I have I love the packaging. Not a fan of shower gels though and I didn't like the smell.

Philip Kingsley elasticizer
Didn't want to like this. But it did work. I will probably RP

Elizabeth Arden retinol verified
Never used retinol. This gave me awful puffy bags and dry skin. Never seen anything like it!!! Chucking it so I'm not tempted to try again!

Estée Lauder Pleasure
It's nice enough but not me

Estée Lauder revitalising supreme daycreme
A HG for me. Always have a stash. Has returned my irritated skin to normal

Estée Lauder revitalising supreme night
Again another HG. I adore the smell of this!!! Smashing product!

This weeks empties

REN Atlantic Kelp Body Wash and Hand Lotion - like the body wash but the hand cream took a while to sink in. Wouldn't RP, but I seem to accumulate a few of these each year so will no doubt use again.

Absolute Sleep Cream - always happy to use this, but don't love it enough to buy it.

Prai Ageless Hand Cream - this was ok, nothing special.

PUR Fully Charged Mascara - good at first, but went clumpy after a few weeks.

Sisley Floral Toning Lotion - used this on my tween, kept the blackheads away, but a full size bottle is £70, not spending that much on them.

Aveda Botanical Repair Mask - liked this a lot, if I ever get through the extreme stash of hair masks and treatments I'll consider this.

Minnie123456 · 27/02/2022 22:53

Finally have my 1st proper empty of 2022 (it's only taken me 2 months Blush )

Lancôme Hypnôse senses this has been lurking in my cupboard for a VERY long time. I loved the smell of this and my skin felt moisturised, I sometimes find that perfume moisturisers aren't very good. Unfortunately this has been discontinued so I can't RP.
