This is "Beauty addicts anonymous", a wonderful community of beauty product addicts & we have been going a hot minute... some may say we are enablers... many would say that they are much more intentional about their stashing and usage since joining this sisterhood.

I have a few empties to report:

  • Liz Earle eyebright soothing eye cleanser: I had two of these 50ml bottles. One of the worst eye make-up remover I have ever used!
  • Soap & Glory hand food: really not a fan of the smell - way too sweet for me. Ok hand cream though.
  • Nivea eau de toilette: love being able to spray on smell of Nivea - unfortunately the scent does not linger

What was dry bad about the Liz Earle cleanser? Boots gave me a voucher for €15 off Liz Earle when you spend €30 so I was going to pick up a set that contains the eye make-up remover. I struggle to find one that doesn't irritate my eyes and I was hoping this would work.
Experiment627 · 08/03/2022 12:06

@OchonAgusOchonOh it did not take off my eye make-up! It did not overly sting but my eyes were not soothed by my rubbing trying to get the make-up off! I have switched to a micellar water from La Roche-Posay - OMG SO much better!!!!

That's not good!

My voucher is very appealing though so I'll get something else with it.

I find micellar water generally pretty good for eye make-up. I'm currently using an Aldi one. I also found the Eve Lom cleansing balm didn't irritate my eyes. I'm currently using the elemis balm and it is fine as a one off but I reckon it would start to irritate my eyes if used regularly as I get a slight tingle on around my eyes if I use it on them.

Oh god no, just perfume I'm now out of :P

Although I've made great ways with some other items like shower gell and shampoo/conditioner. I still have so much face serums/washes/creams. And lets not talk about the make up!

Experiment627 · 08/03/2022 13:45

ah @LivingDeadGirlUK 🤣 well I am glad you will stick around for a while longer 💜

And lets not talk about the make up!

I'm not including make-up. My dd recently asked me why do I have loads of lipsticks that are all basically the same colour. They're all very marginally different, honest!

Got a couple more empties, bare minerals serum, really nice and lightweight and easily absorbed. And this weird first aid beauty coconut water cream, says it hydrates, feels lovely going on but by the time I’ve finished applying it feels like it’s sucked any moisture that was already in my skin right back out again Very drying for a water cream Grin
Smelt nice though!
Confused
Trying to resist the space nk GWP right now, I don’t need any big purchases at the moment other than a new foundation and I’ve learnt that I can’t just choose new ones online and hope for the best.

This week's empties:

Caudalie resveratrol moisturiser had split into cream and oily substance (the SPF?), though that might be my fault as I've had it a while.

Jo Malone poppy & barley cologne lovely but have a heap of perfumes to work through before any RPs.

Byredo blanche body lotion very runny, definitely more lotion than cream, and not much discernible scent.

REN kelp and magnesium hand lotion a rare REN product that I bought rather than got as a freebie! I do really like this but have had my head turned by the Margaret Dabbs hand cream so that'll be my next purchase.

White Company lip balm liked this a lot and the tube lasted for ages.

Olaplex conditioner my HG. Don't need to RP because I always have spares!

Thanks @OchonAgusOchonOh

I have two more empties to report:

  • Liz Earle skin repair light cream 15 ml: I think I may prefer this to the richer version I am also using. Anyhoo not really enough to judge properly. But does not have an SPF which is a bit of a faff for a day cream as then I have to put over.
  • Superdrug B Glow enzyme facial scrub: nothing special... TBH I prefer chemical scrubs to actual physical ones

73/100.

Oh this feels so good getting it down, and very rarely adding to the stash!! Also went through shower gels/shampoo to donate, better than sitting in my dusty cupboard, i dont need all these thibgs, best to someone that does.

  • Wilko fruits body lotion. I picked this up for 25p, so i shouldnt expect much. It was crap didnt feel that moisturised, and it defiantly wasnt a "fragrance explosion:
  • Dr Jart Ceramidin sheet mask. I loved this, im looking to RP. My skin felt amazing after this, wasnt soggy and was a joy to use.

Sunday Riley ICE. HG, I love this. So spendy though. My skin drinks this up, anf gives you a lovely glow. I used this a night to lock all my moisture in!

  • ColourWoW dreamcoat. HG Again. Smooths your hair out, no frizz and doesnt weight it down. Love love love!
  • NatureLab scalp scrub. Was fine, probably wouldnt go out my way to track it down though!

How much have you to go @Caggie09 ?

commanderburnham · 11/03/2022 17:55

Hi all. I've fallen off the thread a bit but still in the game! Whooping empties:

Nioxin 5 conditioner 1000ml. This was good but I wasn't sure of the benefits. Have now moved on to A Bleach London one which is amazing.

Schwarzkopf yellow neutraliser shampoo. I'm now trying olaplex 4P which is really good but a lot pricier.

Olaplex 2 hairdresser size 500ml plus. Saves my triple bleached heat styled ends. Have replaced with olaplex 3 which I have bought a few of to get GWPs.

Dennis gross face wash full size. Mediocre. Back to my ZO skincare cleanser for oily skin.

Skin and me doser. HG for me. Have already got another tube.

Numerous radox bubble bath/ shower gel

Mini Lancôme bifacil eye make up remover mini size. Love this.

Rimmel exaggerate black eyeliner. Another HG. Have one left which will go into the travel bag so need to RP.

Caudalie serum sample. Not hydrating enough.

Dr Lipp nipple balm mini. Really nice. Love the mini size too.

Had to throw put a Charlotte tilbury eye pencil as it had dried out.

Threw out a body shop clay face mask. I have some Emma Hardie clay mask minis to use up so will stick to those. I only use it to draw out or soothe an angry spot.

declutteringmymind · 11/03/2022 17:58

Sorry posted too soon.

Ren glycolic face peel. Another HG. Will RP when on offer.

Ive been thinking of you all!

Ponks · 11/03/2022 23:02

Everyone is doing so well. I'm steadily ploughing through my little stash. Since staring Skin and Me last month I feel much less inclined to even browse skincare websites or think about new things to try as I want to give the tretinoin a good few months to see if I really can improve my skin. Also given up chocolate bars which should help too.

Latest empties:

  • 111 Skin rose gold radiance booster: very pretty bottle and slightly sparkly fairly pointless liquid serum. Hydrating I think. Obviously not a repurchase.
  • Clinique super city block, a good spf under makeup
  • No7 eyebrow gel, throwing this out as it's tinted and I realise I really prefer a clear gel if any.
LivingDeadGirlUK · 12/03/2022 12:21

I've finished a L'occtain Amand shower oli. First shower Oli ive tried and while the scent was underwhelming I liked the feel on my skin.

Also a Natural Deodorant in Orange blossom. Its not the best Deodorant but I'm trying to go plastic free. Any recommendations welcome!

Ponks · 13/03/2022 22:00

Retired an Hourglass Caution mascara mini. Used to really like this but it didn't seem as good this time, dried out quickly and clumped.

Alberto Balsam vanilla conditioner finished, this was amazingly good for the price (less than £2) and lasted a long time. Will no doubt repurchase.

Caggie09 · 15/03/2022 15:31

@PomRuns 22 left to use now!

78/100

MZ face mask. Liked this. Keep seeing this brand pop up everywhere. First thing ive used by this brand.

  • Clarks botanicals jasmine vital cream mini. A gel texture which i was expecting. Found it about boring and nothing special.
  • Olaplex No3 tube. Love this stuff. I know it works for some and not others. I can tell the difference when i use it, but i use every 2 month or so!

SGX happy place dry shampoo. Yuck! Didnt like, my hair still looked greasy.

  • Orginal source shower gel. Does the job👍

Empties update:

30) Aveda Rosemary mint shampoo - this was disappointing. Given the price I was expecting something special, but found this no better than regular supermarket shampoo. In fact, I prefer cheap supermarket shampoo as it lathers better than this. Won't RP.

31) The Collection muscle relax bath soak - I think this is Sainsbury's own brand. It's perfectly fine. I can't tell the difference between this and pricier brands like Radox.

32) Noble Isle Rhubarb shower gel - lovely scent, but probably won't bother to RP

33) Noble Isle Rhubarb body hydrator - again, lovely scent, but nothing special as a moisturiser. Nightmare to get out of the bottle. Probably won't RP

34) 3Lab M cream - very nice cream but it costs £££ so I won't be repurchasing. Can't say that I noticed the 'ultimate lift' effect, but I might not be old enough for that yet!

35) Body Shop almond milk and honey hand cream - good hand cream but I wasn't a big fan of the smell which was far too strong for my liking.

Total for the year: 35/125
