I’ve never had my nails done in my entire life! I’ve painted them myself but they don’t even last a day. I don’t understand how people can have nice nails and still go about their normal activities? As soon as you do a bit of gardening and housework they’re ruined.

Hence shellac for me.

I had these done last week all ready for Christmas. They’re my favourite ones I’ve had done so far.

I have really bendy rubbish nails, so getting them done protects them and they last ages, compared to normal polish which lasts a day, or home gels which last 3 days. I can’t have them long or painted for work so acrylics make a nice treat

I haven’t got time, I will be painting them myself and putting a dye on my hair Christmas Eve.

I’ve never had my nails done in my entire life! I’ve painted them myself but they don’t even last a day. I don’t understand how people can have nice nails and still go about their normal activities? As soon as you do a bit of gardening and housework they’re ruined.

If you have them done professionally then they are pretty durable, I have a manual job and can generally get 3 weeks with no chips when I get them done by a nail tech, compared to less than 24 hours of use normal polish myself!

Huh? There's a nail salon on just about every corner 😆. What an odd thing to say. I mean it's not a thing for me. I'm way to heavy on my nails so don't do anything with them at all but of course it's 'a thing'

Sadly I've not had time to get mine done this year so I will paint them myself on Xmas eve, probably a nice Burgundy Essie nail polish I recently bought.

I'm very jealous as there's lots of lovely nails on here!

A decent gel manicure and some cuticle oil will withstand all that. I never wear any gloves for gardening/housework etc, but my manicure never gets ruined.

Have you genuinely never heard of anyone getting a manicure before? That’s insane! There are salons on every high street. TV and films often reference them. How has this passed you by?!

I got mine done but won't share as it's outing!

Did them myself last week, desperately need to remove and re do!

These are mine for this year. I never go full on Christmas nails because come Boxing Day they'll be annoying me.

I get my nails done all the time though & usually just have OPI put it in neutral or bubble bath.

Normal polish, I agree but I’ve always found my acrylics to be so durable… and they’re really put through their paces, I’m a horse-riding farmer. They certainly glam up the tractor cab 😂 Thank you @MirrorMirrorApplePie I need to get back into having them done! I miss that little luxury.
