Have you had your nails done for Christmas?

Or have you just painted them yourself? Or do you not bother getting them done for Christmas at all? Let's have a look

I've painted mine myself. They are all different lengths and shapes. But they are all natural! I stopped biting my nails this year after 47 years of trying and I'm so proud of myself.

Unfortunately I did them on Friday with ordinary polish and it's chipping now so I'll have to redo for Christmas Day.

I would suggest you get your nails filled as the gap is already prominent and will look too obvious if left for another week.

Two tips for painting your own nails:

1. Paint nails just before going to sleep which will allow your nails to dry for 7/8 hours
2. Metallic and glitter shades tend to last. I use Rimmel 60 supershine (Fab). They never ever chip only fade at the tip and I repaint.

Really? is this a thing? I've never had my nails done (by anyone) in my life. I file them at home and use my own polish.

So you've never heard of anyone going to have their nails done? Or are you just being goady?

Thank you @Lovinglife45. I do have a glitter coat on but didn't have any top coat and I've been doing lots of housework today which has done them in. I'll come back with a photo when they are redone!

Yes. The gap is already showing so it will be very prominent if you don’t.

(If it bothers you. If it doesn’t bother you then don’t do it! No one has an obligation to have perfect nails for Christmas or indeed any other occasion.)

My job means my nails are absolutely wrecked by Christmas and a manicure would be a waste of money (I don't want acrylics) I'm having a few weeks off and hopefully they'll be recovered enough to have one between Xmas and New year.

That was supposed to say lovely Christmas red! Last year I had navy with a snowflake on which was nice as well but I'm not going out anywhere this year so 🤷🏻‍♀️ hope they don't close the salons after Christmas!!!

I've had Rudolph and Santa removed this morning (I did love them 😢) to make way for burgundy and a bit of sparkle to match my Xmas day jumper. Hoping they will last me into the new year as they're not mega festive!

Had them booked in but cancelled as I found a really cute set of Christmas nails. Brought two to test run the first ones and they looked lovely and stayed on for ages. £2.50 a pack rather £40. Going to get my nails done properly in the new year though!

I haven't as I wreck mine due to work, so I just go with a clear coat.

But my dd18 had Christmas nails done.

They do look lovely and better in person. I couldn't cope with this length myself though.

These are gorgeous shakethat. If I ever do put some colour on mine, it is always neutral.

I’ve never had my nails done, but I’ll paint them myself ready for Christmas. I’ll just cut them short, file into an oval and do them a subtle neutral beige-pink.
