Evette, from Woolworths.
Didn't Debenhams briefly have their own range a few years ago?

@quirkychick

Another vote for Ruby & Millie gloss blusher. You just put it straight on in the click up stick and it looked great, hardly needed any blending.
I'd forgotten about that, it was great. Why has no one done it since?
gaggiagirl · 24/11/2021 21:55

Models prefer! The eyebrow pencil and dial up foundation was amazing. They also had a contour pallette in the early 2000s. Ahead of its time.

Nitgel · 24/11/2021 22:02

Models prefer! The crazy lady on qvc

Nitgel · 24/11/2021 22:05

She'd take all her make up off and put in on again Grin

@SirVixofVixHall

Yes HR was brilliant. In the mid 80s then disappeared

SirVixofVixHall · 24/11/2021 22:22

It came back again, the Charlotte Tilbury range was around 2003/2004 I think ? Then after that, gone never to return. It had the best ever red lipgloss in that range, called Bed Red. I thought she might reproduce the colour in her own range but no.

Clymene · 24/11/2021 22:27

@VeronicaBeccabunga

Miners. I saved up for an eyeshadow set called 'Panda Eyes'. The colours were green and yellow, blue and purple so ideal to make yourself look as if you either had a recent black eye, or one that was a few days old.

Boots 17 lipgloss in a little square pot in the colour called 'toasted honey', the flavour of many a teenaged snog.

Oh my god I had that! I treasured it
cobblers123 · 24/11/2021 22:35

Pretty sure I can remember a brand sold in Woolworths called Baby Doll. Would have been probably the mid to late 60s.

Bloody hell I feel so old ...

Phlump · 24/11/2021 22:37

Lancôme Juicy Tube in Marshmellow. Electric Marshmellow isn't the same. In fact, I'm pretty sure they've discontinued juicy tubes all together?

Mxflamingnoravera · 24/11/2021 23:00

I still have some Mary Quant and Biba stuff, it's so old I'm sure it's not safe to use, but I cannot bear to throw it out. I have geisha foundation (Biba) and multiple sparkly loose eye shadows along with a Mary Quant sparkly body glitter powder. It's all in my festival make up bag. I reckon I bought it around 1978! Eek. I'm officially a make up horder!

Ponks · 24/11/2021 23:20

Miss Selfridge makeup in white packaging with pink lettering. I had a couple of frosted lipsticks (it was the 80s) but my favourite was a beautiful fuchsia pink lipstick which I didn't wear but looked at lovingly.

I loved the Miners adverts in magazines with photos of all their products and colours. I'd spend hours choosing what I'd buy if I ever had any money.

Ponks · 24/11/2021 23:26

Just Googled and found this blog post full of vintage makeup.. I can practically taste the lipstick!

BobbieT1999 · 24/11/2021 23:26

Bourjois was my favourite..they used to do a retro rose scented pressed face powder which I adored.

GellerYeller · 24/11/2021 23:42

Ultima II Brighten up Tighten up eye cream was brilliant. It was pink. I would buy that now.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 24/11/2021 23:43

Ultima! That had that strobing lotion that was the granddaddy of them all.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 24/11/2021 23:45

Happyorchidlady · 24/11/2021 23:48

Miss sporty… the cheap and cheerful face of my teen years.

*@notacooldad Prescriptives?
No. I lo ed Prescriptives but I could only get that in Manchester.
Its come to me, the brand I was thinking of was Liz Collinge, I'm sure it was!
I remember all the hype with her being Andrew Collinge's wife.

Malibuismysecrethome · 25/11/2021 08:09

Eterna 27 by Revlon

DerTrotzkopf · 25/11/2021 08:20

I think Bourgeois is still going in the EU but discontinued here.

TheCategoryIs · 25/11/2021 08:46

Pout for me too. Really nice products and such pretty packaging. Had a makeover once in the Covent Garden shop.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 25/11/2021 09:50

And I just realised I'm still using an old Shu Uemura brush and it's still going strong.

Remember them? Great mono eye shadows as well.

TeaAddict235 · 25/11/2021 10:21

Yes @Happyorchidlady , I recently picked up a brilliant Miss Sporty mascara in Germany again. I might have to stock up again.

Anyone remember Stuf cosmetics from Superdrug? It was made in Australia. They had the best plum purple lipstick, especially for black girls. It was only enhanced with a rollerball lipgloss from the hair and beauty shop. Nice Grin

Snoopsnoggysnog · 25/11/2021 10:35

Ooh I still have a Pout lipstick. Bought for my wedding around 15 years ago!
