Evette, from Woolworths.
Didn't Debenhams briefly have their own range a few years ago?

I’d forgotten about Evette!

I loved Boots 17, I’ve still got a couple of concealers stashed which I bought when they were selling them cheap to clear the whole range.

Cover Girl was really good, no idea why they pulled out of the UK market because it seemed really popular.

There was a Wella shampoo and conditioner in the 1980s, a pale green colour which smelt amazing, it had a very herby scent and I’ve never found anything like it since.

I’m currently annoyed with Benefit for discontinuing their They’re Real mascara in brown (not an entire brand, I know) but it’s the only one that doesn’t smudge on me. Black is too harsh and the brown primer that the Benefit assistant recommended doesn’t last long on my lashes.

Shu uemura? @Jacaranda75

KirstenBlest · 24/11/2021 19:19

Sunsilk
Silvikrin
Creme Gloss

All shampoos

Jacaranda75 · 24/11/2021 19:19

@KirstenBlest No, it wasn’t. The shop and the packaging were very pink.

Wiglio · 24/11/2021 19:23

Tangee make up circa 1972, my first pink pearly lipstick an the mascara I bought without knowing what it was for! had to ask DM what to do with it

KirstenBlest · 24/11/2021 19:23

@Jacaranda, I can't think of another one. Any idea what sort of name it was, and whereabouts in CG?

Boood · 24/11/2021 19:25

I used to love the packaging of Mary Quant. Matt black with a little silver flower, so stylish.

Middlefadiddle · 24/11/2021 19:25

Leichner Light Years foundation & Mary Quant lipstick, was it called Grape Drape? A sheer purple colour

KirstenBlest · 24/11/2021 19:26

@Jacaranda75, was it Pout?

MintyGreenDream · 24/11/2021 19:29

I've just reminded myself I need a new Bourjois bronze raffine eyeliner and managed to get the last 2 anywhere.Cant belive it's been discontinued 😞

Malibuismysecrethome · 24/11/2021 19:29

KirstenBlest · 24/11/2021 19:42

I've got a lipstick from there. Somewhere

I loved Neal Street East

KirstenBlest · 24/11/2021 19:44

I also liked the make up in Agnes B

SpeckledyHen · 24/11/2021 20:08

John Lewis’ own brand called Silver Line . Black tubes with a silver line around them.
Great value and the best coral lipstick ever.

PearlAsylum · 24/11/2021 20:11

@KirstenBlest

I also liked the make up in Agnes B
I still use my Agnes B makeup bag!

It always felt very French and chic, Agnes B.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 24/11/2021 20:21

@Jacaranda75

There was a make-up shop in Covent Garden who sold their own range. They went out of business about 15 years ago. Does anyone remember it? I bought loads from them as I worked in Covent Garden.
Pout.

Brilliant make up and I still use one of their eyeshadow blending brushes.

KirstenBlest · 24/11/2021 20:29

@PearlAsylum, I love the shop. Have several make-up bags and a snap cardigan.

almahart · 24/11/2021 20:32

Ruby and Millie did these brilliant lipstick/gloss things with a click up brush.

Une - also in Boots. Brilliant lip tints

3peassuit · 24/11/2021 20:34

Mary Quant nail varnish and their sugar almond blusher.

userxx · 24/11/2021 20:34

@JaneJeffer

Barbara Daly from Tesco. Really miss it.

The best foundation ever.

Goawayquickly · 24/11/2021 20:40

Does anyone remember Sensiq? I think that was it's name. In marbled packaging it looked quite smart. I think it was made by Rimmel and was supposed to be slightly higher end.

WrinklesShminkles · 24/11/2021 20:40

Calvin Klein makeup.

I'm going to miss Lipstick Queen.

notacooldad · 24/11/2021 20:42

My old favourite ms have already been mentioned but they are
Charles if the Ritz. I had a brilliant khaki coloured eyeshadow. Doesnt sound great but it was a great colour on me
Prescetives. I still have a very bold red lipstick that I use very sparingly as it is the most perfect lipstick for me
I used to buy Charles of the Ritz and Prescriptives at Kendals in Manchester.
A more recent one which was a celebrity flash in the pan one is Panda something or other by Claudia Winkleman. It was one of the Christmas Boots gift packs but the primer was fabulous.Best ive ever had. I've still got the Bronzer which us good.

Theres a couple of other brands that they sold in Kendals and it's annoying me that I cant think what they are called!!

notacooldad · 24/11/2021 20:44

Barbara Daly from Tesco. Really miss it
I love the liquid highlighter.
I'm going to admit to bulk buying and still have some unopened and still in the box!
