Loved Miners especially the mascaras and lipsticks. The 'posh' range was fab! I had a set of 4 bright colours in a palette including bright pink, acid green and yellow and blue. I put the yellow and green together. I wanted to piss my mum off! Clever mum said "Oh I like the way you have done your eyes!" Also the honey lipstick and glossers, the purple haze lipsticks and pink panther lip gloss.
Boots 17 did palamino brown lip gloss and my all time fave sunset (something or other) lip gloss. I cannot remember if it was Outdoor Girl but I had a lovely kind of tinted face gel - clear but honey coloured. It was beautiful! No good if you had acne though I guess. Their blush a bye baby was nice for cheeks and they did a range of make up for black skin (I am white!) and I had a dark lippie called ripe ackee (sort of purplish). Would look shit on me now
I loved Anne French and the Delft cleanser and toner. I ruined my skin which was not acnefied but I got an occasional hormonal spot above one eyebrow and /or on my lip. I used Innoxa 41 lotion on my skin which was like paint stripper.
I also loved saving up for Mary Quant lipsticks. They were the best colours ever! I loved chic cherry a purpley brown almost black. In hind sight, it did not suit me! I also occasionally got a Helena Rubinstein lipstick.
I do remember Yardley make up - I got soul setters - a round palette of the most beautiful greens, mauves and blues..
I wonder how many people know that after Evette make up for a time Woolworths own make up was called TU. Yes, before Sainsbury's named their clothing range TU. I had two eye shadows - smoking stack - a deep grey mauve with a bit of sparkle and a matte one called Maroon chaos.
Do you remember Max Factor Swedish skin care? They also did a lovely milky cleanser not that range though.
I loved Linco beer shampoo and sunsilk and silvrikin shampoos too.
Faberge Kiku perfume and Xanadu plus Acqua Manda and Acqua Citra bath stuff. I was so easy to buy presents for!! Max Factor did an apple perfume.
I also remember years ago - must have been the 70's Coty did a palette of 'earthy' solid perfumes. Perfumes I still like to this day are White lace, silk and Lentheric Panache.
