The Levi website suggest only washing their jeans every 10 wears!? I wash mine after 2!!! How often do you wash yours?

@XingMing

I cook every day but don't find cooking smells are unpleasant unless there's deep frying happening, which it doesn't here. I can't stand the standing smell of a deep fat fryer.
They might not smell bad to you because you are cooking and eating your own food but I often smell garlic or strong cooking smells on people. Smoking also makes clothes smell awful.
SunShinesBrightly · 26/10/2021 20:37

Not to mention pet smells. Dogs/cats sitting on laps.

irregularegular · 26/10/2021 20:38

I'm afraid I do find that tight-ish jeans/trousers get a bit niffy, so wash as needed.

And yes I do shower every day, but that doesn't stop there sometimes being a little bit of leakage that might cause smells from time to time. Especially as I get older...tmi I know, but that is the way it is.

Loose trousers, skirts, can go much longer.

irregularegular · 26/10/2021 20:42

It does seem unlikely that someone needs to change their underwear every day, but only change tight-ish jeans every 10 wears or more. The two are very close together!!

XingMing · 26/10/2021 20:44

Stopped smoking many years ago but you are right, it does smell vile especially stale.

kowari · 26/10/2021 20:47

Usually at the end of a work week, I don't like wearing them at the weekend if dirty from work. Dirt from walks or the garden is different.

gogohm · 26/10/2021 20:49

2-3 wears - yes I shower daily , yes I wear clean underwear but they do smell after a couple of wears.

LilyTheMink · 26/10/2021 20:53

I used to hang around with bikers and the things they did to jeans....
Rubbing ash into them from roll ups instead of dropping onto floor was the least of it.
Washing.....never!

santabetterwashhishands · 26/10/2021 20:53

Every time I wear them they go in the wash because if the dog doesn't cover me In muddy paw prints then one of the kids with daub me in something 😩

Artesia · 26/10/2021 20:53

@BusySittingDown

Shock Ew, I had never heard this! So people don't wash their jeans often? You're not supposed to?

NO WONDER THERE'S A PANDEMIC Shock 😷

Amazing- call off the WHO investigation. Covid clearly caused by grubby 501s….
TreeSmuggler · 26/10/2021 20:55

Do you guys never cook whilst wearing jeans?

No I don't, and same for the pet thing, I wear jeans to go out but I always wear lounge wear at home. I guess that makes a difference, what constitutes "a wear".

TuftyMarmoset · 26/10/2021 21:09

@HuhWhatNow

I'm just booking here at the thought of not washing clothes after anything like weeks or even months! Ew! I wash throw blankets more often than that and they don't even go against that much skin. Do you guys never cook whilst wearing jeans? The kitchen smells alone are enough to make me chuck that day's clothes in the washer. Do you sniff test before putting on? Do you bother with showering if you're just popping your dirty clothes back on?
Maybe cook less smelly stuff and use your extractor fan? I’ve never smelt cooking smells on clothes.

I feel the same. Also I'm a filthy individual and like to garden, walk dog, muck out the horse and go to work in jeans, so they, along with the rest of my clothes, get washed a lot.

No, I would never wear jeans to cook, do housework or gardening. I wear jeans when I go out somewhere.

The clothes I wear to do housework, cook, garden etc I wash after about 2 wears. Jeans worn to go out do not need washing anywhere near that often

Blindleadingtheblind · 26/10/2021 21:49

As if crotch smell on denim is getting g mor attention than this Corker of a statement:

If they get marked I spot clean them, I air them after wearing and I stick them in the freezer after a few wears

What the actual fuck???

ClinkeyMonkey · 26/10/2021 21:59

People who hardly ever wash their jeans - is it the same with other lower body clothing such as trousers, joggers, leggings etc? Or just jeans? If so, what special properties does denim have that makes it ok not to wash it as often?

Harmonypuss · 27/10/2021 00:25

@onlyconnect

I agree with Elieza. What do those of you who hardly ever wash yours do about crotch smells?

Quick squirt of febreze or just hang them up to air.

I can't afford expensive jeans, never paid more than about £20 but I only wash them after about 25-30 wears, partly because I usually only wear them for about 3hrs tops.

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 27/10/2021 02:31

How you wear them and your sweat scale determine how often you should wash them.
Like some have mentioned, I only wear mine when out and change into home clothes/lounge wear once back home. I wouldn't do house jobs in them, no kids or pets so no paws or little hands making them dirty.
I wash them possibly every 5th or 6th wear.
My husband wears thick corduroy trousers and they last even longer .

LilyTheMink · 27/10/2021 08:11

Does anyone wear pinnies any more?

I stip short of a full house coat like my nan, but a nice thick apron is an absolute must for cooking.

LaVieEstBelle159 · 27/10/2021 08:22

What about all the dead flakes of skin that build up on the jeans that are never washed? 🤢 DSS doesn't wash his, it takes ages to Febreze the sofa after he leaves.

Dirty clothes stink don’t they. I’m not sure people wearing them are aware.
TuftyMarmoset · 27/10/2021 09:09

To be honest I’d rather smell someone’s BO than Febreeze

XingMing · 27/10/2021 09:26

@LilyTheMink... yup I wear full pinny or apron for anything involving flour, so I don't wear it! Love the username!

Mercurial123 · 27/10/2021 10:19

Agree. Febreeze is just a nast chemical spray which masks odors.
