I have NCed.
I know this isn't a good angle but is the outfit that bad?
Someone told me it was

I wonder if it is the jumper? I wore tweed trousers, a blouse and my lovely Toast V neck tank to work last week. My DH said "not one of your better looks" when I got home and I felt a bit deflated as I thought I looked pretty good.

PrincessNutella · 11/10/2021 14:40

It is frumpy but it's not evil.

benelephant · 11/10/2021 14:42

@mumsiedarlingrevolta

what I want to know is why your whole hand rubbed out?

Ginormous f off wedding ring?
large obvious hand tattoo?
6 fingers on your left hand?

Yes please, I'd like to know this too!
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/10/2021 14:43

It's the shirt I think but you're pottering around not leading London fashion week, ffs, what an uneccessary comment from him!

ElizaDarcysDeeds · 11/10/2021 14:45

@emmathedilemma

Reminds me of Sandi Toksvig! Not something I'd personally wear but if you feel comfortable in it that's fine.
Yes! That's who it reminds me of!
Applesonthelawn · 11/10/2021 14:46

I wouldn't comment unless you had asked for an opinion, and it's okay, but my only criticism is that it looks very manly. You can do a look with each of those pieces individually that doesn't look so blokey.

suspiria777 · 11/10/2021 14:47

it's scruffy, too baggy/ill fitting, and the jeans are unfashionably dark (current style is stonewash, not indigo!)

DameMaureen · 11/10/2021 14:48

@Tellmeee

I don’t like it at all, especially the loose shirt and crumpled old man’s jumper (ageist sorry and in fact my 80 year old dad wears better fitting v-neck jumpers and they always look smart.)

Yes to Sandi Toksvig!

Oh dear you wait until those people on the Seasalt thread see this 😂😂😂
SouthernFashionista · 11/10/2021 14:48

Pretty bad. Shabby, creased, ill fitting, dull and unflattering.

Ticksallboxes · 11/10/2021 14:49

It's. Really. Bad.

Sorry - nothing goes with each other style or colour wise, it's badly fitting and looks very cheap.

Coogee · 11/10/2021 14:50

It looks like something man in his fifties who lives alone and possesses no mirrors would wear.

Other than that it’s fine.

OttilieStonelady · 11/10/2021 14:51

Being honest, it's pretty bad... If you walked past me I probably wouldn't think twice about the outfit, but if you asked me to wear it I don't think I could without feeling a bit self conscious.

Coogee · 11/10/2021 14:51

a man

MayorGoodwaysChicken · 11/10/2021 14:52

I could see Clare Balding in it OP. I don’t love it, I’ll be honest, but nothing matters apart from what you think. Was your partner being unkind, or just kind of lovingly teasing you?

PattiPritell · 11/10/2021 14:54

Everything is blue or grey except the jumper, remove the jumper.

LadyMuckington · 11/10/2021 14:54

Makes me think of Chandler Bing.

astoundedgoat · 11/10/2021 14:58

It's just that nothing on your top half fits. The CONCEPT is fine.

If something doesn't fit you just take it to the charity shop. Don't hang onto it in case you, I don't know, go up 3 sizes some day? It's never going to fit you, so get rid of it, then it won't be there to tempt you on days like this!

It makes me think of my Dad, who worked in a very smart job in the 90's when the fashion was for very oversized suits (think Josh in the West Wing!) and my goodness, he hung onto the style like grim death after he retired. It took YEARS to convince him he looked like he was recovering from a terrible illness and was still wearing his old clothes. Grin

clarepetal · 11/10/2021 14:59

I think it looks fine! If you like it, wear it!

RampantIvy · 11/10/2021 14:59

I look worse than that when just pottering Grin

Mischance · 11/10/2021 15:00

Well "someone" needs to mind their own business!
You wear what you like and/or feel comfortable in!

rhowton · 11/10/2021 15:02

It is awful.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 11/10/2021 15:03

Well I like it, I like the layering and it's the sort of thing I'd wear. I don't see why everything has to be fitting (as in 'fitted to you'). Why can't something be loose or over-size?

Stuff what anyone else thinks, you wear what you want!

ferneytorro · 11/10/2021 15:08

I’m hoping the scribbled out hand is holding the knife he got in his ribs after that comment.

99victoria · 11/10/2021 15:10

I'm gobsmacked at the number of people saying the OP should wear a 'fitted shirt' and that she might have a lovely figure but you can't see it because the clothes are too baggy etc. Why should she have to show off her shape and figure to everyone?

On a long-running thread about a teenage girl wanting to wear a body-con dress everyone was piling on and saying that the dress is too sexy and shows off her curves too much etc.

Honestly, when we will as women, stop judging other women for the way they look?

BeardyButton · 11/10/2021 15:10

Think with different jeans would be very nice. Needs smt more fitted to complement the slouchy top half.
