Kate Bond premiere look

I don’t think know if this is the right place to post this, but why has The Duchess of Cambridge gone to the Bond premiere in fancy dress as Princess Margaret circa 1975?

I love her, but that is a very dated hair choice. www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.glamour.com/story/kate-middleton-looked-extra-royal-in-a-stunning-gold-dress-at-the-james-bond-premiere/amp

I don't think I've ever seen her looking so lovely!

Iimaginethiswillbefun · 29/09/2021 11:48

What? This is probably my favourite look ever. It’s stunning.

It would be this or the shimmery pearly pink number she has pulled out a couple of times.

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 29/09/2021 11:48

She looked incredible and she knew it. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of the back, either of the dress or her hair but that’s just me nitpicking.

Billlius · 29/09/2021 11:49

You sound bitter OP.

The hair up 'do' might have been a decision related to the weather (raining!) - a down style quickly goes flat in damp weather.

But that dress required a more formal upstyle anyway in my opinion.

I do think 'Team Cambridge' are getting it all right at the moment!

SiobhanSharpe · 29/09/2021 11:51

In the 70s and 80s Margaret was all about the big hair -- she was very short.
I don't think Kate's hairdo was that similar at all, more classic and subdued. And she has very long hair so needed an updo to go with that fabulous Hollywood dress.

WellTidy · 29/09/2021 11:51

I thought she looked amazing. William definitely has the same look as Hugh Grant did at the Four Weddings premiere when Elizabeth Hurley wore the iconic safety pins dress ie knowing that all eyes were definitely on the lady!

Bluntness100 · 29/09/2021 11:52

@HaveringWavering

It was only a small step away from Princess Anne’s favourite look.

If I had cheekbones like Kate I’d be tempted to go for a pixie crop. I bet it would be much more convenient for all her sport and childcare too. But the establishment would not wear that and she’s be crucified for copying Diana.

Don’t be ridiculous she’s a grown woman who can wear her hair as she wishes.

None of what you’re writing is a compliment, really give over snd stop being catty about another woman’s appearance, I’m pretty sure you snd the rest of us would love to look that good

Go have a look in the mirror snd then when you feel your perfect post an image of you and when you gain agreement on yout sheer fabulousness then go on thr attack for other women for how they dare to present themselves.

I think Kate looked sensational! Like real Hollywood / Royalty glamour. One of her best looks yet.

The gold dress cleared a big thing up for me though. There has been much debate online for years as to whether Kate is a summer skin tone or an autumn. A Summer would not look so amazing in a gold dress as she did. Kate wears a lot of very light pastels, but I think with this dress she is definitely an autumn.

LaBellina · 29/09/2021 11:53

Kate looked absolutely fab. I think her makeup also looked a bit different from what she has ever worn before. It was all very glamorous! She seemed happy and confident.

Huh? I was making a point about how Royal style doesn’t really evolve as much as general fashion. She reminded me very strongly of Princess Margaret in her heyday. The “fancy dress” comment was meant to be lighthearted. I like her very much.

I thought Kate looked the best I have ever seen! Super glam. I thought she looked sensational.

MummyJ12 · 29/09/2021 11:54

I thought that she looked absolutely beautiful. So glamorous, elegant and timeless. There have been comparisons in the press to what Princess Diana wore in 1985 (for the A View to Kill Bond premiere). Just goes to show that style never goes out of fashion.

LouLou789 · 29/09/2021 11:54

The dress was fabulous, she always looks lovely, but I did think the hairdo was old fashioned

Jng1 · 29/09/2021 11:55

Just looking at the pics again, and you know what it is that works so well - it's a dress that nods to the iconic Oscars statue! The pinnacle of the film world!
There's a huge amount of thought and planning that goes into the royal wardrobe - a bit like when they travel abroad and have outfits in national colours or dress styles.

Unsure33 · 29/09/2021 11:55

I thought she looked amazing . Stunning dress.

CharityDingle · 29/09/2021 11:56

I thought she looked stunning.

"I’d be tempted to go for a pixie crop. I bet it would be much more convenient for all her sport and childcare too"

I would have thought that long hair that you can just wash & tie back is far easier than a pixie crop to look after.

augustusglupe · 29/09/2021 11:57

She looked sensational, absolutely stunning in every way.
God help the rest of us if Kates up for criticism..

I loved Daniel Craig's jacket too.

TheRealHousewife · 29/09/2021 11:58

I thought she looked absolutely stunning 🤩 But then again i don’t know much about trends 😬

TrueGrit54 · 29/09/2021 11:59

I think she looked fabulous.

diddl · 29/09/2021 12:00

I thought the hair looked lovely.

I don't think she has ever worn it pulled straight backed & in a basic bun has she?

Always more "dressed"?

PennyPooBags · 29/09/2021 12:00

Fabulously stunning!

OliverBabish · 29/09/2021 12:01

She looked really good.

They really stepped up her wardrobe after the arrival of Meghan and it has served her beautifully. Very elegant.

Embroidery · 29/09/2021 12:03

I think she looked fabulous
