Kate Bond premiere look

I don’t think know if this is the right place to post this, but why has The Duchess of Cambridge gone to the Bond premiere in fancy dress as Princess Margaret circa 1975?

I love her, but that is a very dated hair choice. www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.glamour.com/story/kate-middleton-looked-extra-royal-in-a-stunning-gold-dress-at-the-james-bond-premiere/amp

@valerianroot

I really liked the dress but agree re the hair, too fussy IMHO. . I just Googled her age and she's 39 for some reason I thought she was younger.
Yup, her and PW hit the big 40 next year. She's def aged better than him
Carboncheque · 29/09/2021 11:06

The dress was good the hair was badddd.

amusedtodeath1 · 29/09/2021 11:07

She looked gorgeous, so classy and did you see they way Wills looked at her. A mixture of deep love, admiration and "just wait till we get home"..... They looked very happy.

VitalsStable · 29/09/2021 11:09

She looked incredible and I think her hair suited her look perfectly. She obviously felt a million dollars and good on her.

Aspiringmatriarch · 29/09/2021 11:10

I honestly think it's the best I've seen her looking for a long time. The dress was beautiful, her hair was lovely, she'd done something different with her makeup that looked more youthful, even her face looked slightly fuller in that attractive way she gets when pregnant (not that I'm suggesting she is). 10/10 and nice to see her dressing more boldly.

SleepingStandingUp · 29/09/2021 11:14

I thought her face looked a bit fuller too Aspiring, in a good way. It probably only requires a few lbs tbf as she's so slim!

Something sleeker wouldn't have suited her face I don't think, her hair matched her mood which was happy and bouncy and she IS nearly 40 😂 so think the softer hair works in her favour

Divebar2021 · 29/09/2021 11:16

I was very surprised when I opened that link. I’m not a huge fan normally but I thought she looked knockout. I just watched a couple of You Tube videos to try and see the hair and what made me laugh was that the news presenters were talking about Kate and Camilla and adding that they were both with their husbands. ( as if that’s all they are). Annoying that she’s still referred to as Kate Middleton though. If you’re going to have all this pomp and titles she should be given the courtesy of her actual title. Princess Diana wasn’t called Diana Spencer for her whole adult life.

Lobelia123 · 29/09/2021 11:16

All of this is starting to make me wonder if perhaps she is 'with child' as they say in Downton Abbey

stillavid · 29/09/2021 11:20

I think she looked fantastic, suspect she has had some very good work on her face.

Explosivefarts · 29/09/2021 11:20

She looked stunning

HarebrightCedarmoon · 29/09/2021 11:22

A pixie crop would be ageing I think.

She would rock a Marion Cotillard bob but she looks lovely just as she is.

Hadn't seen it until this thread and I agree, she looked amazing. Not many could carry off a dress like that. Vintage and retro looks have been around for ages and I have no problem with it harking back to a previous decade. I wish I had the figure for it and the occasion to wear it, but those days are long gone.

MichelleScarn · 29/09/2021 11:29

She looked absolutely fantastic!

knittingaddict · 29/09/2021 11:32

That blue chiffon dress was beautiful too. She has amazing taste (or help) and the figure to make the most of those stunning clothes. Lucky her.

IcedPurple · 29/09/2021 11:34

@AuldFox

Oof she looks stunning. If you can’t glam it up at a bond premiere, when can you?
Exactly. Especially when this has been postponed so many times and it's been a wretched year for most of us.

Kate doesn't normally do out and out glamour and sexy, which is probably appropriate given her role, but she out film starred the film stars last night. That's an iconic look which will be admired decades from now.

Carameljack · 29/09/2021 11:35

She nailed it. She looked stunning as as pp have said, the best I’ve ever seen her look. Perfect for a bond premiere.

valerianroot · 29/09/2021 11:35

@sashagabadon

I love Jenny Packham dresses. It always blows my mind that she is Chris Packham sister! Imagine being their parents and producing not one but two children absolutely at the top of their respective but completely and utterly different fields.
Wow, did not know that!
lurker101 · 29/09/2021 11:36

Think it’s possibly one of my favourite red carpet looks ever. She just looked so stunning, confident and happy! Smashed it! I want it all, unfortunately won’t look anywhere as nice on me

Bert2020 · 29/09/2021 11:39

Kate looked absolutely beautiful!

TatianaBis · 29/09/2021 11:39

They both bore the pants off me but she looked drop dead stunning.

She rather outglammed the Bond girls in fact.

astoundedgoat · 29/09/2021 11:41

She has always dressed much older than her age, and this is no different, but it's still a fabulous look and very on point for a James Bond red carpet - I think she definitely understood the assignment!

I would have put something in her hair to carry the look up though - a very very slim tiara in yellow gold/canary diamonds etc. just to top it off.

But yes - 10/10 otherwise.

Practicebeingpatient · 29/09/2021 11:46

I caught sight of the photo earlier and thought she looked great. I had another look after reading your post and I can see what you mean

I think for those of us old enough to remember the glory days of Princess Margaret the hair and dress might appear dated but for women too young to remember it first round, it will look modern and edgy. Either way it really suited her.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 29/09/2021 11:47

She was glammed up to the max and she looked great.

jay55 · 29/09/2021 11:48

I thought they all looked fab. I've loved seeing all the Olympians decked out in tuxes and gowns too.
Looked like a great event. Though I've always found the sound in the RAH to be dreadful so I'm glad I'm seeing the film in a proper cinema.

Floisme · 29/09/2021 11:48

I liked it but then I've had a soft spot for Princess Margaret ever since reading 'Ma'am Darling'.
