I have worn M&S bikini multipack knickers for donkeys years and they were brilliant. Comfy, no riding up, covered your bum properly, great value

Well of course they've had to piss about with them and now they have stupid lacy edging which literally falls to bits after one wash. Maddening. I bought some Next low rise shorts today (no bikinis in my size) and have tried them on at home. They are utter shit, and will be right up my bum after 5 mins. It's enough to make you scream

Can anyone recommend decent, bikini style, comfy knickers that stay put and don't ride up or fall down or otherwise drive you mad? Willing to pay what it takes at this stage. Ta!

Asda white cotton. Packs of 4 or so for a fiver. Shorts style or high leg or brief style. Best value around! Fine for everyday.

I needed some emergency pants the other week and got them from Sainsbury's. So purely accidental Bloody comfortable and next time I need some I'll be going there

I really agree that M&S pants are awful now, they fall apart so fast, the gusset does seem narrower and there is less bottom coverage all round. The fabric is not so good either, their cotton/lycra high legs used to be wonderful, the fabric lasted but wasn't thick.
The last I bought there were cotton shorts. The fabric was coarse but has gone into holes and the lace (which I don't want anyway) has disintegrated. I don't like the shape either, but there was honestly no other style that I would have bought.
I've recently looked at the M&S range and didn't see a single pair (or pack) that I'd consider.
I'm probably going to have to buy Sloggi, they're expensive but they have no lace and the fabric is so much finer. Those I've had in the past were great.

I've not read the whole thread, but have come on to recommend Uniqlo full briefs. They are amazing. I used to be an M&S girl and dabbled with sainsburys (rubbish) but have slowly invested in Uniqlo and now have a good 12 pairs and will not use anything else now. They do not lose their stretch, the lace edging is soft and def not stracty and they are comfy, comfy, comfy.

I am a size 12/14 and wear the large if that is of help.
Here is an example, they come if diff colors etc.

@WellTidy

My wiraparas arrived from Amazon yesterday so i have them on today. They have stayed put! First time I’ve had pants that have stayed put for years. They are the ones with a thick waistband that come in a four pack and look slightly like cool y-fronts 😂 but I like them very much. Bow looking for ones without the vertical stitching down the front for less of a y fronts look.
I have Wirarpa too - mega comfy. I ordered one pack, wore one pair for a day and went home and ordered more.

These are the ones I have.

Those are the ones I will order next Friends. They come up much much higher on me than on the model as I am only 5 foot 1. They’re proper big pants on me but without doubt the most comfortable I’ve ever worn.

TwoKidsAndNoTime · 12/09/2021 22:12

Too thin is the next cotton ones I have that developed holes after a couple of months.

Cassandrainthenight · 14/09/2021 12:36

I have slightly different varieties of Sloggies, one turned out to have a solid thick waistband which is a bit weird and takes ages to dry, and then two thinner ones deveolped worn patches and random holes after a few months! Like a hole in the middle of the front? and you could see the fabric in that area in the light is cobweb light...for the money I was disappointed, though two remaining (short shorts style) pairs I have no problem with, they are slightly thicker material...
