I have worn M&S bikini multipack knickers for donkeys years and they were brilliant. Comfy, no riding up, covered your bum properly, great value

Well of course they've had to piss about with them and now they have stupid lacy edging which literally falls to bits after one wash. Maddening. I bought some Next low rise shorts today (no bikinis in my size) and have tried them on at home. They are utter shit, and will be right up my bum after 5 mins. It's enough to make you scream

Can anyone recommend decent, bikini style, comfy knickers that stay put and don't ride up or fall down or otherwise drive you mad? Willing to pay what it takes at this stage. Ta!

Are the Boody ones true to size? I’m a 10 and not sure whether to go small or medium tia.

Eyesofdisarray · 05/09/2021 19:15

Another vote for Asda lace top knickers- great fit, comfy and don't ride up

snuffykins · 05/09/2021 19:18

M&S Flexi fit.

SirVixofVixHall · 05/09/2021 19:20

I loved the old flexifit, apart from the stupid printed label that gets rigid and incredibly scratchy as time goes on, but the new ones are not as comfortable to sleep in with the double layered leg cuffs.

That sounds hopeful, which ones are they ? I do have the boxers with the wide, thick waistband but am not a fan of that part of the pants as it is quite bulky. Is it those you mean or a different type ?

blitzen · 05/09/2021 19:24

I just got these from H&M and think they are great. I'll definitely get some more.

George at Asda or Matalan. I haven’t had issues with either.

BettySweaty · 05/09/2021 19:30

Another sainsburys woman here

NotMyCat · 05/09/2021 19:44

M&S sumptuously soft have actually lasted really well
Matalan are good

altforvarmt · 05/09/2021 20:10

I like the midi knickers from Sainsburys.

John lewis do a multipack of plain cotton bikini pants which are brilliant. No lace, no scratchy edging. You can get them at waitrose too

@whataboutbob

I have nothing to suggest but glad it’s not only me who feels M&S knickers have gone downhill. Boody looks good *@detachablehoof*. Is the bamboo fabric as nice as cotton?
It's very smooth but not too thin, I'm a new fan!

I'm 10ish although maybe more like a 12 on my large backside and got a medium, they have measurements in their sizing guide
Nearlyadoctor · 05/09/2021 20:33

@detachablehoof - thank you that’s very helpful Smile

dramalamma · 05/09/2021 20:56

I swear by Uniqlo - they're like M&S cotton bikinis used to be before they changed the edges to that stupid ribbed stuff that irritates me something chronic. Uniqlo are 100% cotton and nice abs stretchy - they're about £5 each but often have deals on and they totally worth it.

NiceTwin · 05/09/2021 21:03

Oddballs, not cheap but oh so comfy.

minipie · 05/09/2021 21:05

Gap cotton bikinis here too

Uniqlo are very similar and also good

These are the only ones that don’t ride up on me

ThatSunnyCorner · 05/09/2021 21:12

M & S are terrible these days. I've got a few pairs from them which must be 10 or more years old - I did a Mumsnet product test on M &S shapewear - and they are still going strong. The pairs I bought more recently have all, without fail, developed holes within months.

Uniqlo are my favourites these days, either cotton or airism. Comfortable, cheaper than M & S and great quality.

Bin85 · 05/09/2021 21:13

Sloggi every time

olivo · 05/09/2021 21:19

I changed to Matalan, really pleased with them.

TurnTowardsTheSun · 05/09/2021 21:22

Sloggi

Yes my shapewear lasted well from at least ten years .ago but newer ones are developing holes

'You did say in your OP that at this point you'd pay whatever it takes..'

I did. Good god though ....

I really like the Asda lace top knickers. I buy them in the shorts style but they do them in all styles. They cover well and don’t roll down.

woodhill · 05/09/2021 21:45

Are they cotton?
