I have worn M&S bikini multipack knickers for donkeys years and they were brilliant. Comfy, no riding up, covered your bum properly, great value

Well of course they've had to piss about with them and now they have stupid lacy edging which literally falls to bits after one wash. Maddening. I bought some Next low rise shorts today (no bikinis in my size) and have tried them on at home. They are utter shit, and will be right up my bum after 5 mins. It's enough to make you scream

Can anyone recommend decent, bikini style, comfy knickers that stay put and don't ride up or fall down or otherwise drive you mad? Willing to pay what it takes at this stage. Ta!

OP - check out Wirarpa knickers on Amazon. Cheap, proper cotton of decent thickness, hold their shape well, amazing reviews, a variety of styles, and 5 pairs for about £20. They're fab. I bought one set a while back, but I'm gradually going to replace all of my knickers with Wirarpa ones!

Lottapianos · 08/09/2021 12:36

Thanks lazylinguist, they sound good

They look good lazylinguist. How do they come up size wise? So often, as with these, knickers are 10-12 and 14-16. I'm a 12-14 and never know which way to go!

lazylinguist · 08/09/2021 15:51

Well I'm pretty reliably a 14. I bought Ladies High Waist Knickers Women's Cotton Briefs Underwear Full Back Coverage Panties Plus Size Multipack [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0828TRC4J/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_JS2CD8X0A0NMFDBMQBPQ?psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mumsnetforu03-21 these ones]] in a size L and they are a very good fit - snug, but not tight. They are fairly thick cotton and fairly firmly stretchy, so they are quite flattering if one does not have a... particularly flat lower stomach, shall we say Grin. Mine are the high waist ones though.

lazylinguist · 08/09/2021 15:55

Hmm - clicky link went wrong. I'll try that again... here

Thank you! My stomach is of course washboard flat Grin That laugh is especially hollow unlike my abs
lazylinguist · 08/09/2021 18:33

My stomach is of course washboard flat

Oh of course, mine too, mine too. Grin I was just pointing out that they might flattering for anyone not as fortunate as us in the washboard abs department. Wink Not that it's good fortune of course. Pure hard graft in the gym.

Lupinhere37 · 08/09/2021 21:59

Tesco multipack. I think 4 pairs for about £6.
They are soooo comfortable and wash very well. If Tesco stop making these, I will wage war on them.

Lucky us not having to worry about such things as folding a blob of fat into our pants eh Wink

I got the waipara Amazon ones and they are comfy and sturdy but they do love a little - not as much as other knickers but I couldn’t say they don’t budge.

IvorHughJarrs · 08/09/2021 22:46

@iamjustlurking

Asda high leg (they are not) lace top knickers they are the best most comfortable knickers ever snd you can size down and still get full bum coverage
I have these in high leg and full brief and both are excellent
Megan2018 · 08/09/2021 22:48

I managed to get some Next ones, they’re ok. But took constant checking to get some as always sold out.
I did have some Sainsbury’s too which weren’t bad for the price. Not perfect but better than M&S which are now dreadful I agree. Worth a punt for sure. I didn’t rate Asda, fell apart quickly.

Kitkat151 · 08/09/2021 22:53

@Lottapianos

Sainsburys is a good shout, thanks people 👍
Sainsbury’s are good....but so are matalan multi packs
Calm33 · 09/09/2021 17:22

John Lewis or Sloggi are cotton practical and comfy.

WellTidy · 09/09/2021 17:29

I’ve bought those pants that linguist recommended. Delivery expected tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

CornishTiger · 09/09/2021 17:32

I was going to suggest Boody after seeing them recommended on here. I’m too far for them but when I loose weight…..

I used to love Sainsbury’s and M&S. the quality has gone downhill on both.

SweetBabyCheeses99 · 09/09/2021 18:02

Victoria’s Secrets seamless bikinis or seamless hiphuggers. 5 pairs for £26. Wouldn’t wear anything else. Some pairs are still going into their second decade! And they tumble dry well, prob because they’re American and they love tumble drying!

Coniferhedge · 09/09/2021 20:05

I bought two pairs of Boody last week after a thread on here. I already have a couple of bras and find them super comfy. Same goes for the knickers. They are expensive, but I think I’ll just keep buying a couple of pairs every month until I have enough. No scratchy lace, no tight elastic, no going up my bum. Perfect!

Bertiebiscuit · 09/09/2021 20:24

Sloggi just about the only knickers that don't go up my bum but they are so darned expensive - but also merino knickers from the sports shops but they ate even more expensive (women's underwear is a racket, they extort huge amounts if money for crap imo

Are the sizes American?
EmmaGrundyForPM · 09/09/2021 20:31

Innersy knickers from Amazon. True to size and very comfortable

serendipity1980 · 09/09/2021 20:38

Definitely stripe & stare - recently converted. They are more pricey but IMO worth it. You should wash in a delicates bag though to protect the lace.

DoodleBelle · 09/09/2021 20:52

Another vote for Sainsbury’s

HellieOldie · 09/09/2021 21:14

I swear by the M&S 100% cotton bikinis. Not been able to get them for several years but recently come back in stock. www.marksandspencer.com/7pk-pure-cotton-low-rise-bikini-knickers/p/clp60512019

Lottapianos · 09/09/2021 21:49

Hellie, these are the ones that fell to bits after just one wash. It's the stupid new lace trim that I'm sure no one wants or needs
