I have worn M&S bikini multipack knickers for donkeys years and they were brilliant. Comfy, no riding up, covered your bum properly, great value

Well of course they've had to piss about with them and now they have stupid lacy edging which literally falls to bits after one wash. Maddening. I bought some Next low rise shorts today (no bikinis in my size) and have tried them on at home. They are utter shit, and will be right up my bum after 5 mins. It's enough to make you scream

Can anyone recommend decent, bikini style, comfy knickers that stay put and don't ride up or fall down or otherwise drive you mad? Willing to pay what it takes at this stage. Ta!

Woodhill if your question is to me then I’ve just checked the label of my Asda ones. The gusset is 100% cotton and the rest 95% cotton.

Shannith · 05/09/2021 21:58

These from Amazon.

I was an M&S girl but bought these and they are literally the comfiest things I own.

I love them.

TurnTowardsTheSun · 05/09/2021 22:10

@Lottapianos

'Bought a pair of Boody ones recently. The most comfy knickers I have ever worn. Practical, not sexy and like they are caressing your bum.'

Sound great, look great. Am I the only one who balls at TWELVE QUID for a pair of knickers?!

Tried Sainsburys today - nothing useful in my size. Wore the Next shorts today and they weren't great, but not a total disaster either. They ride up and cut my cheeks in half but this may be less of an issue in the winter I reckon

Primark next......

I think that's a bit odd tbh. £12 for comfortable underwear that lasts I would think to be cheap.

Underwear is directly in contact with your body so paying more comfort and wuality with underwear makes far more sense than splashing out on more expensive layers on top. How much do you pay for tops/ jumpers/ jeans/ dresses/ coats etc so we can have more of an idea of budget, in a proportional way?

@Three0fivepointfour

Oh gosh, yes, with the need to size up with Sloggis. I was 10 and the 14 I bought was a bit tight. Now I’m a 12 i can’t wear them.
Really? I have always found them generous in size.
SicParvisMagna · 05/09/2021 22:13

Tesco f&f bikini knickers in multipacks. Identical to M&S.

SicParvisMagna · 05/09/2021 22:17

The old style M&S ones anyway. The F&F ones are identical to the ones I bought about 11 years ago when pregnant with my son, still going strong!

sproutsandparsnips · 05/09/2021 22:23

I have bought all of mine from Lidl Blush

John Lewis - plain & simple & pretty much indestructible!

dunkaccino · 05/09/2021 22:31

I've spent years wondering who the hell buys those hideous huge sloggi granny pants, and now I've found that actually I do. Love them.

Wandawide · 05/09/2021 22:39

DH went shopping for Y fronts, He now buys Sainsbury. He says M&S just don't fit underneath. He thinks they are now being designed by a teenage girl who has no idea that men's pants need to support as well as cover!
I go for Damart cotton full brief, quite high waist very comfy in winter.
I like the look of the Boody boy leg ones. Are they comfortable to wear for long hours. Leg not roll up?

AnnieSnap · 05/09/2021 22:46

Wirapa from Amazon. Thick cotton with a little lycra and look like new for so long. I have some that are 3 years old and look almost new. They come in a range of styles and a large range of sizes.

LunaTheCat · 05/09/2021 22:53

@StarlightLady

In addition to my comments about M&S Brazilians earlier. In the warmer weather, with skirts and dresses for a real libertine feeling, l often don’t wear any at all. 🤫

It’s only a summer sport though.

But l don’t wear short skirts and l don’t do cartwheels!

Oh lovely. I love a nude swim when ever the chance!
Nat6999 · 05/09/2021 22:56

M & S low rise shorts are the comfiest knickers I have ever known.

LunaTheCat · 05/09/2021 22:56

Thunderpants- expensive but so so comfy!

StarlightLady · 06/09/2021 06:19

@LunaTheCat - I do wonder with every libertine day now, whether it will be the last this year.

As for some peeps on here, l’m amazed people are having do many problems with a pair of knix. Stylish and comfy with a good colour choice (l don’t do white and any shade of beige makes my crotch look as if it’s made of cardboard 😂) can go together.

Although, to me Sloggi feels like wearing a nappy. Come to think of it, they look a bit like it too. Sloggi are made by Triumph and their bra sizing doesn’t work for me either.

keiratwiceknightly · 06/09/2021 06:27

Tk Maxx own brand knickers. Come in a pack of 3 for about 12£. 100% cotton, true to size, well fitting, wash and dry well.

Sometimes they are called Tokyo Laundry, sometimes something about penguins, the most recent I've bought were FCUK branded but they are the same pants. And they are the absolute dogs.

Kiitos · 06/09/2021 07:11

I was also a M&S bikini person, until they changed the cut and they became shit. I haven’t found anything perfect yet so reading with interest!

IntermittentParps · 06/09/2021 09:48

I take it back about gap – just looked and there's hardly any cotton non-lacy ones. Most of them are man-made fabrics and fussy.
Tokyo Laundry as mentioned above are good –lots of man-made ones but also good simple cotton ones. And there's usually a sale or an offer on.

Member589500 · 06/09/2021 10:12

Another vote for Costco.
Best strong cotton basic knickers.

Sorry to butt in but if anyone could recommend some soft, high waisted, low legged boyshorts made of cotton that don't cost £10+ a pair I would be very grateful. I was recommended some from H&M but they turned out to be mid-rise and had a stiff waistband. Sloggi are ok but expensive and not really long enough in the leg for me.

I have a size 12 (or now I think about it maybe even 14 ) here that I gave to Dd, the simple waist high ones in dark red. They are minute ! She wears them and they are certainly not large on her at all. She measures 22” waist and 34” hips , she is very slight. They would stretch to fit someone bigger, but the leg holes are too small for me at a size 10-12. I find black and the dark colours smaller than the pale ones, and this style smaller than all the others.
ISpyCobraKai · 08/09/2021 11:08

Superdry bikinis.

I've been looking for the same thing for years. Yet to find them. If you can compromise on the shorts aspect until you do find them, these are cotton, high rise and incredibly comfortable: www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-high-rise-briefs-432857.html?dwvar_432857_color=COL00&dwvar_432857_size=SMA002&cgid=IDknickers1462&hassubcat=false
