I would love some wide navy trousers in flannel or wool. Not thin and plastic. Nope never happens. How about you?

More generally, I’m enjoying the way this thread has become a public service 😀

Lanique · 19/08/2021 07:31

Thank you @hotsouple I've never heard of them - will take a look now.

desperate4spring · 19/08/2021 11:40

A knee-length plain-black swishy skirt. Thin-ish fabric so I can wear it in the summer and winter with tights. Fitted around the wait/bum and then flared at the bottom so that it swishes nicely :)
All of the black skirts out there at the moment are either too short or non-swishy. Sad times.

3plantpots · 19/08/2021 13:06

Similar trousers to OP, must be weighty fabric to get the right movement. Watching!

Purpleblondelady · 19/08/2021 13:06

I haven't read the whole thread yet but Mountain Warehouse have a long ish black coat that looks good, I've seen someone wearing it @mistermagpie

www.mountainwarehouse.com
/036312-cloud-burst-textured-womens-waterproof-jacket-p30812/black/ (I think it was this one, they have a few similar ones.

Also there were a couple of people wanting skirts with pockets, I have a beautiful one from Thought Clothing, lots of their skirts have pockets.

MrsPear · 19/08/2021 13:36

Thanks for the link to cos - only tapered ones. Hunt does continue. And yes I wish clothing manufacturers/ shops would listen. I am willing to spend good money and I’m pretty sure most on this thread would if they could.

@IncessantNameChanger Joe Brown's have a plus size range on Simply Be, I'm not sure what the range is like though

EvilHerbivore · 19/08/2021 14:02

Knee length (so I can wear calf high boots), v-neck, long sleeve dress in a nice print ( like a cute ditsy flower print) in a size 20/22
Everything I can say is either super short (especially as I'm 5'9) which considering I want to wear it for a work event is not appropriate or too high-necked

LookItsMeAgain · 19/08/2021 14:28

@TWBAEM

Dark brown, leather ankle boots, with a slight heel that lace up. All the ones I have seen either have the lacing just for show, with a zip as the actual fastening (which is so annoying as many say they are lace up until you examine the photos and spot a zip) or are heavy/clompy/hiking/dm style boots.
Like these ones: www.stories.com/en_gbp/shoes/boots/ankleboots/product.lace-up-leather-boots-black.0558709001.html
TWBAEM · 19/08/2021 14:58

Those look great for stomping about on a rainy day, but I am really looking for something a bit less heavy looking, and in brown rather than black. Thanks though!!

TWBAEM · 19/08/2021 16:20

Sorry @LookItsMeAgain I can't seem to open that last link - it seems to be asking me to download an app! V appreciative of your efforts though!

serenenadine · 19/08/2021 16:23

@Notarealmum

My holy grail is a full (i.e. generous midi) length raincoat that’s reasonably stylish, not puffa/quilted and, crucially, has a hood. I like trench style but none have hoods and the coats that do are always too short. I’ve seen lots of excellent rainwear recommendations on MM but none exactly fits my bill.
How about this?

@DublinDoris2000 - eBay is your friend here! If you can remember the size you like I'm sure you'll find some of the Demi-curve ones. There's often plenty for sale 🙂

Orange or peach or turquoise pyjamas. And I want clear bright coloured clothes in winter - winter clothes are black, very dark navy, harsh red or harsh purples and greens. I've pale coloured skin which bleaches even more in winter so winter colours wash me out and emphasise dark circles under my eyes.

Purpleblondelady · 19/08/2021 17:27

Did someone want slouchy boots? I came across these and thought of this thread-

Lanique · 19/08/2021 19:35

I'd really like a pair of black or dark grey slouch calf length boots without a heel.

Lanique · 19/08/2021 19:35

I meant mid calf

Have you looked at Kettlewell Colours? Their USP is simple, mostly jersey, clothes a massive range of colours year round. Also Woolovers for “non-standard” colours year round.

Cape Cornwall make gorgeous silk Kimonos from recycled saris for anyone looking for a Kimono.
My fashion forecast on Instagram is modeling several in her stories.
I'm very tempted to buy one.
Why would anyone want to buy big knickers like @ Thunderpants?
Perplexed .
Protected Species are brilliant if you're looking for a lightweight coat. I've taken all my others to the charity shop. I have the Khaki Tour and it's so comfy & really smart & easy to wear .

BigFatBloomers · 19/08/2021 22:23

For those of you looking for a robe/kimono, look at this beauty being sold by a vintage seller I follow:

No idea of price though

WrinklesShminkles · 19/08/2021 22:25

@Bertiebiscuit

We women really don't ask for much and yet the shops are full of tat that none of us wants - personally I would kill for a plain knee length pure wool kilt - when I was young we all wore kilts with jumpers and thick tights on winter I would love to go back to this style now
Have you looked at Celtic? They do knee length wool kilts: www.celticandco.com/womens/clothing/midi-celt-kilt
Notarealmum · 20/08/2021 00:14

Thanks @serenenadine it’s nice but just not long enough - and this is always the problem - it needs to be well below the knee ☹️

fallfallfall · 20/08/2021 01:01

years and years of searching for the perfect cable knit solid cream sweater.
the cables need to be nicely placed and balanced, the sweater needs to be long enough.
