I would love some wide navy trousers in flannel or wool. Not thin and plastic. Nope never happens. How about you?

I want some lime green jeans, either full length and slim but not super skinny or capri length, not too flimsy and stretchy, not too yellowy and not too apple-y but just in between. I actually saw the perfect ones on somebody once, but when I complimented them and asked where they were from, the answer was "Armani - but they were only £80 in the sale." That's well out of my price range.

A white cotton t-shirt that isn't see through.
A white blouse that isn't see through.

Darklane · 17/08/2021 10:39

I notice we’re all wanting pretty classic things in good quality natural fibres. The things sorely missing these days in the shops.
M&S used to do some wonderful silk knitteds. PP mentioned a slouchy jumper. I had two knitted silk twinsets, sounds dowdy but weren’t at all as the jumper was deep V necked, fitted with short sleeves. The cardigan was fitted & V necked too, came in gorgeous muted colours. I had a mid grey set & a lovely deep, muted blue.
I really want a knee length, black leather slim pencil skirt. Not easy when I’m only 5’ short.

noblegreenk · 17/08/2021 10:42

Stone coloured linen trousers. I had a pair years ago but I wore them until they fell apart. They were from miss selfridge and were lovely quality. They were a slightly thicker linen that didn't crease up immediately and the cut of them was beautiful. I've never found a pair the same cut or quality since.

NameChangePropertyAdvice · 17/08/2021 10:46

I want knitted or jersey biker cardigans in autumn colours.

And I mourn my deliberate destruction of an open back khaki jumper from Oliver Bonas a few years ago. I couldn't work out how to wear it back then but now I know I'd wear it all the time 😭

BikeRunSki · 17/08/2021 10:51

High waisted, non skinny, non bootleg jeans.
I have very pronounced calf muscles, and most trousers don’t pull up over my shins.
Long bodied jumpsuit
Long bodied anything - a choice of leg lengths in trousers is pretty standard now, which it was the same for tops. And tall fit dresses, where the waist abs bust are lower, as well as the skirt being longer.
Size 9 shoes
Natural fibres - Seasalt are good, but I don’t want to dress like a toddler all the time.

@Socksandthecity

Re white t shirts. I haven’t used this company but they were featured on “Buy me once” so I’m going to say they’re good quality.

@Pinkstegosaurus

Have you tried Etsy for the kimono? Apparently there are 30,000 vintage kimonos for sale at the moment.

I feel your pain. I would love to wear jumpsuits, but even the tall ones don't fit my body length properly. I would love to have a normal size body.
Tall just seems to mean long and baggy. I'm not fat with long legs, I'm kind of....stretched.

LookItsMeAgain · 17/08/2021 11:01

Skirts/dresses with pockets!

I used to have a couple of midaxi length skirts (which were perfect for wearing shoes or boots with) that I loved wearing (but subsequently put on weight and they no longer fit me so I got rid of them) but they had a waistband and then from the waistband a panel that managed to hold my tummy in and then from that was either the pleated skirt or the a-line or whatever, basically the volume of the skirt. I can't find any skirt in any material like that anymore.

mistermagpie · 17/08/2021 11:02

A smart, waterproof, hooded, lightweight, long jacket or mac in plain navy or black.

It has to be smart enough to wear with a work dress and handbag but have a proper hood and be properly waterproof- ideally goretex or similar. But not be heavily branded or a ridiculous colour or make me look like I'm off to the Lake District for a walking holiday.

I have something very warm and insulated that fits the bill for winter but there just does not seem to be anything like that for summer (in Scotland where it still rains all the time).

TableNiner · 17/08/2021 11:02

@BikeRunSki Thanks for thinking of me - Moshalu is more my mum's style!

alittlequinnie · 17/08/2021 11:03

I have a beautiful navy blue silk cashmere blend jumper - really light in summer - it's from Jaeger but I picked it up on ebay.

I get almost all my stuff on ebay - I've taught myself to be handy on a sewing machine and I adjust all the stuff to fit me properly - even jumpers.

Re the twinset mentioned above - I have a lovely jade twinset from dkny - sounds very similar - v neck short sleeve jumper with panelling so it's really fitted and a cardigan the same - it was £38 including delivery from ebay.

I love classic clothes and that's why I shop ebay all the time. You can catagorise by fabric etc..

Give it a whirl?

TellingBone · 17/08/2021 11:05

A reasonably priced version of the military style jacket in the Million fragrances ad. Plenty of shorter versions out there but I want mid-thigh length.

I feel your pain, I'm only 5'8" but often have to buy from the tall ranges and they are awful - the proportions are usually all wrong on the dresses and there seems to be the assumption that 'tall' also means 'fat'. I need long length trousers and dresses but that doesn't mean that I also need everything to be wide and weird.

Lol! I thought you might say that! I look at the catalogues at my mum’s house! Unfortunately, I do have some of their shoes as they do some 9s 🤣

BikeRunSki · 17/08/2021 11:08

@Slipperfairy, I’m also 5’8”. Not slim, not massive (size 14), but I have a disproportionately long body.

NotMyCat · 17/08/2021 11:08

@Laska2Meryls

Also a water proof rain jacket that actually does up over my boobs ( which are not that huge- an e cup ) without having to buy one that swamps me everywhere else
Bizarrely I find regatta fits me really nicely and I'm a 34K! They seem to be generous in the chest sizing
MorrisZapp · 17/08/2021 11:09

I want an early 2000s hoodie. 100% cotton, incredibly thick and soft. If it has 'Ralph Lauren' or 'Duffer' written on it I don't care. It will feel like a hug and nourish my soul. It would cost over a hundred quid and I wouldn't grudge a penny of it.

SpindleWhorl · 17/08/2021 11:12

Some beautiful sandals in a beautiful colour, not nude, beige, silver or gold, that aren't flip flop or slider style, that don't have crazy heels, aren't plastic or jelly, are comfortable to actually walk in, and don't look horrible.

A tulip skirt, like this one.

I can sew, I just hate it.

SpindleWhorl · 17/08/2021 11:14

And a kimono that is light and airy, long, and fits my top half.

This is also nice.
