Can’t see a thread so I thought I’d start one. Yes, it’s unbelievably early, but I noticed Glossybox have already revealed their Advent Calendar contents for this year. Saw this reveal on YouTube this morning:

Have to say it doesn’t wow me, but there’s plenty of time and many more Advent Calendars to come, I’m sure!

I got LF last year and don't think this years is as good. I got. Full size ESPA moisturiser and full size Elemis marine cream last year which made it worthwhile for me

Yeah I like the sound of most of the products in this years but it just doesn't seem as good value for money to me. The ESPA and Elemis moisturisers really made it last year.

Some of them say they're out of stock before they start selling them. It often means they haven't got any stock in yet and is just a placeholder.

I bought the H&B and the ByTerry last year but going to try and treat myself to one really good one and also don't like spoiling the contents in advance so don't want to Google them any recommendations?? Am thinking Liberty or Cult Beauty are they worth it?

I think Liberty leans more towards skincare whereas CB has a mix and contains thirty odd products, not just 24/25. I think they are worth it....there are always a few duds but you get to try some new luxury products and the threads on here during Advent are always fun to join in with. The best over the last few years IMO have been Space NK and F&M, though not as impressed this year with Fortnum.

Ugh Avant has popped up in LF...that useless brand gets everywhere. And NARS orgasm Blush?😭😭😭 I won't do it to myself so pass on this one. There are just too many of the usual suspects like Percy and Reed Wonder Balm, Christophe Robin Scrub and Color Wow.....and of course the obligatory black eyeliner.

@MollyVolley - I have the memory of a goldfish so seeing the contents in advance doesn't affect the daily element of surprise for me

I always get No7. I use No7 skincare, so I save up my Boots Advantage Points through the year and use them to buy myself the calendar. I like the look of the H&B calendar and I’m also waiting to see what Cult Beauty is like. I dithered over that one for too long last year and when I finally decided to buy it, it had sold out.

Haha same. I pore over the contents for ages, going back and forth until I decide....and have completely forgotten them all by the time Advent comes round.

I'm starting to think I should use the money (depending on CB) To just buy some bits to stock up on, Elemis TSV on qvc for example.

I might tell dp to go through my stash and put my own things in an empty advent 😄

I should really do this too! Due to the lockdowns I found it was so much easier buying beauty stuff online than clothes so I've got tonnes to use up

But....I just really love Advent Calendars. There's nothing like the element of surprise every day to make it through to Christmas

I think from this thread I'm going for the Rituals one and my usual H&B (always a safe winner for me!)

I think I'm going to go a bit crazy this year as it's been a tough few months and I love the boost of a fun calendar.
Am going to get H&B (thanks for the link @AprilLady) M&S and either CB or Space NK. I saved last years Space NK to open in July (my bday month) and it was fab! Plus I want Liberty too ..

I had holland & barrett and look fantastic last year and they were both great but I still haven't got around to using a lot of the stuff so maybe should try to do that before December so I can but more

Can I ask what is so great about the Holland and Barrett one please and roughly what price point it is?

I love Renu and Cosmetopia Digest (YouTube), I first saw it on last year's advent thread. Needless to say I won't be buying F&M this year. Some odd choices, Little b is a range for babies/small children. The jump up in pricing/fall in content value is very off putting.

My sister and I made each other an advent calendar last year as we both were disappointed M&S didn’t have one. Really hoping they do this year as making your own is quite expensive!

Just seen it's Cult Beauty. I looked it up and last years was £199 so probably out of my price range and I'll stick with the Holland and Barrett.

@Window1 Have a look at the link upthread for the contents of this year's H&B calendar. It's one of the cheaper ones at £45 and I think it's great value for money. I really like it as it's heavy on the skincare with no make up. Last year we got some lovely bath oil, a Korean brand of toner that was just divine, a couple of day creams and then some random stuff like a reusable ear bud All the products are vegan and eco friendly and generally affordable if you want to get the full size product, although many of the products were actually full sized anyway.

I had the Elemis one a couple of years ago and it was amazing. Excellent value, full size marine cream too. Except that most of the products didn’t agree with my skin (first time I’ve ever reacted to skincare).

The Liberty one a few years ago was the bees knees. Kept the box and will reuse as a summer gift to myself!

I’ve bought the Rituals one for friends before and it’s gone down a storm. Ditto the occitane one.

I would absolutely love a Murad one, if anyone sees one.

I've had F&M for the past couple of years and have found it to be the most generous/ best value by far. I'm a bit put off by the big price hike this year though, so not sure that I will bother.

I didn't get Cult Beauty last year, but had it in 2019 and found it such a disappointment. Tiny, tiny products, not worth the money at all IMO. It really put me off buying from them again.

Look fantastic also doesn't excite me this year.

Waiting to see what Liberty and Space NK come out with as I've had good calendars from them in the past.
