Can’t see a thread so I thought I’d start one. Yes, it’s unbelievably early, but I noticed Glossybox have already revealed their Advent Calendar contents for this year. Saw this reveal on YouTube this morning:

Have to say it doesn’t wow me, but there’s plenty of time and many more Advent Calendars to come, I’m sure! Grin

I loved reading about the dugustabox one but there was asti least a third of the days I wouldn't have gone for. Don't think I'll get it but really looking forward to reading about those who do.

I see Avant has made an early appearance in Glossybox. It's infuriating how boxes and calendars use brands like this, Doctors Formula and Symbiosis to bump up the 'value' and to pretend they offer high value contents. I think it was Renu (Cosmetopia Digest) who said that they use very cheap ingredients and label them privately....you rarely see these products sold in 'real' beauty halls, mostly online at ridiculous prices. I have tried a number of Avant products and they were all shit. Did nothing.

Space NK advent calendar waitlist alert!

No details of what's in it yet, though.

Thoroughly agree @LastSummerHere - I’m sure it was only last year that I got my dd a Glossybox advent featuring an Avant product rrp £99, which was around a third of the value of the total calendar contents! Blatant rip-off. I’m avoiding Glossybox now and any other calendar that does this..........

Yep Luvacuppatea, I am the same! It's a real piss take and I'm not buying any calendar with one of these fake products. My heart sinks every time i see Avant.

Not excited about FU

I have only ever bought an adult advent Calendar as a gift. Never had one myself. I’ve had a look at the contents of some mentioned here and decided that I’d rather spend the money on full size items that I know I love. There seem to be so many 15ml sizes. I tend to just lose small samples or never get around to using them and there are bound to be things that I don’t want. For me, a bargain is only a bargain if I really want it and will use it.

I got two last year for the first time.

Molton Brown - not impressed

Mac - better, but a few colours that didn't suit at all

Not sure which ones to try this year

Last year was my first year having a beauty advent calendar and I loved it! I had Look fantastic and if it weren't for the unreliability I would consider it again as I have used all but about 4 things (which just didn't agree with my sensitive skin).

This year I'm definitely going to sign up for H&B as it seemed fab and I had totally forgotten about Degustabox but will get that for DP.

For my main calendar I'm thinking Cult beauty or Space NK so fingers crossed they are nice.

What was so great about the H&B one? I can’t imagine what they do that’s so good but am open to trying it!

I’ve abstained for a couple of years but have enjoyed the M&S one in the past. I might go for one this year but do get a bit put off by the waste of all the plastic bottles etc. Are there any that are more sustainable?

You will be able to see exactly what was im last year's online and in fact this year's. It was a good range of products and well priced.

M&S didn't do one last year so I'm not sure if they're doing one this year?

That's fair enough, up to you. I don't think any of us on this thread are under the illusion that advent calendars are bargains though, pretty sure we're all well aware that they're an absolute indulgence.

@DukeOfEarlGrey H&B is supposedly one of the more eco-friendly ones, I think it was cruelty-free and recyclable last year. Contents for this year are posted at a link above, they're actually better than I expected. I could be tempted into H&B as my second one. I read about one last year that was branded as cruelty-free and plastic-free. It also gave donations to charities. I think it might have been the Freedm Street one? Probably worth a look.

Feelunique looks rubbish, everything is tiny!

Last year I really liked the look of CB and also Fortnum and Mason but decided they were both too expensive...maybe will go for one of them this year tho as I have decided money is better spent

LF contents now available:

beautyadventcalendar.net/lookfantastic-advent-calendar-2021/

Includes random Avant produc and Nars orgasm blush, but overall looks better than Glossybox or Feel Unique I think.

And don't forget the black eyeliner...

It's nearly all small sizes too. It's not terribly exciting, but yes, better than FU. I haven't had a proper look at GB yet.
