Beauty Advent Calendars 2021 - contains spoilers *titled by MNHQ at OP's request*

Can’t see a thread so I thought I’d start one. Yes, it’s unbelievably early, but I noticed Glossybox have already revealed their Advent Calendar contents for this year. Saw this reveal on YouTube this morning:

Have to say it doesn’t wow me, but there’s plenty of time and many more Advent Calendars to come, I’m sure! Grin

I’ll get M&as if they release a proper calendar but otherwise me and beauty calendars are missing each other for 2021. Too much stuff sitting in my bathroom already and nothing very exciting on offer.

I would love Hotel Chocolat but I’m not in the UK and the shipping is usually high.

Still waiting for H&B here! And Degustabox, I think DD will like that one. That’s it for me, I don’t want one of the really high-end ones as if I found a product I loved I couldn’t bring myself to spend the money on it. I ‘ll have a look at M&S too if they do a proper one.

I’ve had a few favourite things- loved the Weleda arnica bath milk from last year’s H&B, and have bought loads since; having a bath was a reliable small pleasure during lockdown. Also Aveda volumising tonic from John Lewis two or three years ago, and REN night cream for dark spots - that was in the M&S summer bag and it’s really worked for my skin.

Can anyone recommend one similar to the basic body shop one but at a more reasonable price? I’d like to get one for my 13yo DN who is into pampering products now (no make up) but budget would be more like £30.

I had a look at the cult edit but I feel like the product selection is a bit random. The 3 full size products included have quite mixed reviews, so it feels a bit like Cult Beauty palming off the stuff that they're struggling to shift, rather than a specially selected 'edit'. The dark spot cream is an odd choice for a box like this as it sounds like something very specific for a particular skin condition/concern, that won't be relevant to many people.

Tempting as it, I think I'll skip this. However if you have dark spots and/or are keen on trying any of the other full sizes, then this is amazing value.

Thank you - that looks great (she wouldn’t use the mascara or makeup remover but a couple of items out of 24 isn’t bad). I could stretch to that and it’s £13 cheaper than TBS, although preferably I’d want to stick to a budget of £30 as I also have to buy for her for Christmas.

Shock Oh my I looked up the Lush one, thinking it a teen brand - £185 for their advent calendar!!! If you had £185 wouldn’t you go for one of the others? Anyone here considering it?

Thank you so much! I’m liking the beauty crush one. The Ted Baker would be great but contains a few too many makeup items.

I used to love Lush bath ballistics but can’t justify spending £££ on baths since having DC. If someone wanted to buy me the Lush calendar I’d love it as it looks amazing but I couldn’t spend £185 on it!

The lush one is hugely expensive. I'd rather just go in and buy a few things. Even for £20-30 I feel like I'd get quite a lot.

Used to be the same for their gift sets too; with other companies gift sets work often out good value because you’re buying a bundle but I remember with Lush that you paid full price for the products inside plus more I think. Not sure if it’s still the same as I’ve not bought from them for a number of years.

Sometimes the Boots ones go in their 3 for 2 Christmas gift offers. I bought the Ted Baker one for gifts a couple of years ago using that offer.
Makes them much more affordable.

Lush is ridiculously expensive, I don’t know how they are surviving. The products are sometimes a bit off too, recently purchased a shower bar and it’s half the size with 2 uses and not that nice - I don’t feel fresh after using it.

I've gone for the ASOS calendar so far. I had a voucher that was about to expire, plus the discount so it came to only £20. I can cope with a few drawers of disappointment for that!

Has anyone purchased the Latest In Beauty calendar before? Last years looked OK for the price, but there don't seem to have been any sneak peaks out yet? I'm worried if I hold out for this one and don't buy it, anything else I want will be sold out Confused

I always start on the 1st Dec and open each day in the correct order but by the 16th or so I get fed up waiting and open a few in one go!
Me too, I can never get to the end patiently

I cracked this morning and pre-ordered Glossybox, but only because I had quite a bit of credit on there from surveys I did when I was bored during lockdown. I may gift it though.

Indeed! I tend to justify buying a few ACs on the basis that I’m saving money, but there are a few like Lush where the cost is pretty much the same as just buying the items individually.

Pah! I just watched an unboxing by Eltoria of the ASOS calendar and, with a 20% discount if your downloaded the app, I thought it was really good value for £60. Downloaded the app, tried to buy and it says the discount is only for new customers. There’s some good stuff in the calendar that I would like to try, but I don’t really want to pay the full £75. Might leave it for a bit and see if any other discounts codes come up. It’s a risk as it might sell out, but if it does, it does.

Lush can eff the eff off after their many wildly misplaced political campaigns. None of their core customers has 185 quid to drop on thrush fizzers.
