What perfumes give you the boke?

Whilst not strictly a perfume, I picked up a can of Impulse ‘hint of musk’ recently and it reminded me of mothballs and net curtains - bleurgh.

Chanel No 5 is absolutely vile and rancid. I tried some on in an airport and immediately had to wash it off, really not what i expected at all seeing as it is so popular

Dior j'adore. My mum and gran wear it, I can't stand it. To me it smells like a plug in.

Davidoff Cool Water is an instant headache for me.

YSL Baby Doll. I wore it when I was pregnant with my eldest and even a whiff of it transports me back to feeling so rough with nausea and morning sickness.

Any Jo Malone perfume. Vile stuff masquerading as naice scent.

Charlotte Tilbury..... smells like the hairspray in an old ladies hair salon.

Opium..... used to have a colleague who seemed to bath in it. When I was pregnant with DD1, I actually had to ask to move offices as it set my morning sickness off.

I'm so happy to see the first three replies were all Joop 😂 THE worst men's fragrance in existence, reminds me of sweaty teens with too much gel in their hair and bleach-blond fringes (90s girl here!).

Chanel no 5. I was once on a training course with a woman who was doused in it. It was horrible,smelt cheap and nasty. I actually asked her what it was so I knew what to avoid when buying perfume

I used to go into my local pub before the lockdowns, and there were about four or five middle aged paunchy men, who always came in smelling of Joop. I always wondered if they thought it made them smell sexy, now they were older blokes. Older men used to wear BRUT in the old days, now these men think they have gone upmarket a bit.

Angel and Alien - they smell like nothing else on earth, so synthetic.

I can't say any really. I had Vera wang princess as my wedding day perfume and decided it was far too sweet on me. But I love it on other people. I think we all as individuals add to the scent so it's not so straight forward.
