Yes, love that fairisle sweater. I too bought it at a knockdown price from John Lewis but reluctantly returned as the colour completely washed me out.
I had a very Toast light day today, just had my Hal denim jacket on. It’s become very autumnal up here suddenly, so I am looking forward to digging out some Toast sweaters.

faustina · 30/08/2021 21:13

@Blossomtoes - thank you! @ToastCosILoveIt - You're only an inch taller than me. I wonder why I assumed you were much taller than that? They look like the perfect length on you

... off to google where Shepton Mallett is!

Craftycorvid · 30/08/2021 22:32

@faustina - Shepton Mallet is in Somerset.

Evening all! Enjoying checking in with all your wonderful Toast outfits.

I have long wanted to go to the Shepton Mallet store.. was hoping when we last took out campervan out to accidentally navigate us that way ( but it wasnt on the way to Norfolk sadly, so I didn't think that I could get away with it!!...) .. we are put again in a week or so , maybe its on the way to Scotland ....( Eh, no.. )

Laska2Meryls · 31/08/2021 08:09

Love that skirt Applecatchers and regretted not buying it myself ( I do have the matching jumper though) .
Im still in bed and wearing a Toast bamboo jersey nightie but you don't want to see a photo of that 🤣

Blossomtoes · 31/08/2021 09:03

That looks lovely @applecatchers36. I have the dress in that fabric from last year. I really should wear it more.

Saurus72 · 31/08/2021 09:45

@applecatchers36 you look fabulous. God, this thread combined with the move into Autumn (aka the best clothes season) is making me really want to buy all the things 😬. Because good clothes really do make very happy.

Has anyone bought the Falke merino tights and if so, would you recommend? Think this year I’m going in, they look lovely.

Laska2Meryls · 31/08/2021 09:51

No style points here but I dragged out the checked jumper to match Applecatchers skirt..
Worn sloppily with Hush joggers and vest
But I really must strongly protest at the fact of wearing a jumper in August !! I Was on the beach in sorts and tee a couple of days ago.. and went in!

Laska2Meryls · 31/08/2021 09:52

😂 usual open wardrobe and unmade bed behind me...🤭

Laska2Meryls · 31/08/2021 10:06

Saurus I think that I bought some a few years ago ( but from JL if I remember) lovely and warm ..

Countmeout · 31/08/2021 10:29

Always loved that skirt @applecatchers36. I think either it or the dress popped up in sale this year.
I don’t think I’ve seen that jumper @Laska2Meryls, looks great.

I can’t believe you’ve all got jumpers out. Some of you must be 4/5 degrees warmer than me. I’ve just walked to the PO to return the boat neck T, but have ordered bigger size, and am just in a very light cotton shirt..

Loving all the outfits! It’s definitely jumper weather around here, I was contemplating putting the heating on this morning…

Thank you @applecatchers36. It's definitely cold down here in the south-east, jumper weather.
TempleofZoom · 31/08/2021 14:46

Not enjoying the snark about wearing jumpers very much.
Its been very chilly plus I have a serious medical condition that is caused by being cold.
I tend to trust that adults know what they need to wear and do so accordingly

ScottishMouse · 31/08/2021 15:13

Managed to try the indigo smock today. Wish I hadn’t as I rather love it. They only had an xs in store too, and it was maybe a smidge small for fitting lots of layer underneath but good with just a tshirt. I do wonder if it kind of heavy and stuff though, would be kind of like wearing a denim jacket all day. Hmmmmm….

Styled here with my 5 year old indigo Alix trousers, the new floral wool scarf, and some Camper boots.

ScottishMouse · 31/08/2021 15:13

Stiff not stuff!

faustina · 31/08/2021 15:27

That definitely doesn't look too small @ScottishMouse! I'm also wearing my indigo twill alix trousers today - comforting to see another person has to roll them up! I would take a pic, but it's just so dark and gloomy here

Saurus72 · 31/08/2021 15:30

That looks really nice @ScottishMouse. I know what you mean about the stiff denim - I bought this denim coat dress last Autumn and it’s great to wear by itself and also with a big winter coat but not good with a jacket over the top, it isn’t comfy. Toast denim is so lovely though #enabling

AmethystMoonShine · 31/08/2021 18:02

I have that denim dress too @Saurus72 and often wear it as a coat itself! It looks good over ecru jeans and a tee.

AmethystMoonShine · 31/08/2021 18:03

Not done up though, left open.

ScottishMouse · 31/08/2021 19:32

I have had a bit of a realisation that I am feeling quite low at the moment, and this is fuelling some overspending (or at least over-browsing!). In the last week or two I have ordered or considered ordering a whole rake of different pieces from Toast (I blame buddycat66 🤣🤣). I don’t need any of them. I almost placed another order yesterday, but stopped myself, and by today I had gone off the idea of most of the things in my basket. Does anyone else do this?? I think I need to order RIGHT NOW in case something sells out, or because I want to have something to look forward to immediately, but when I think about it with my logical head on it seems nuts.
I think I need to make a list of the things that I really do need…one winter jumper to replace a few that are now really old, an autumn into early winter jacket to replace the only one I have which is now threadbare, a shirt or two for layering under jumpers, and an everyday tote style bag that goes with everything for when I need more than just my phone and keys with me. I’m going to try really hard to stick to this list and not buy random (but beautiful) things such as indigo jerkins or smocks! As someone said earlier, this feels really hard coming into autumn, which is hands down the best clothes shopping season.

Saurus72 · 31/08/2021 19:53

@ScottishMouse I completely know what you mean. I’ve had bad clothes shopping habits in the past - buying far too many things with exactly the ‘I must buy this NOW’ feeling. I was always sure that my wardrobe would be complete if only I had x, y and x (and abc too 🙄). I’ve been tracking my shopping for the past few years and I’m on track to buy the fewest things in absolutely aged this year. Apart from Toast, I rarely sale shop now which really helps because it makes me consider whether I actually do need another £150 dress. I also know exactly what I wear - really good dresses that can be day to evening (well, in life before COVID) plus boots or sandals, jacket, done. The downside is I rarely take risks but I do waste far less cash.
