Thanks all. Love the Tala too @MrsCat1.

That’s a great outfit @Laska2Meryls..
The dress must be ancient.
Someone will know. I though 17/18 possibly.
You still see it occasionally on ebay. It’s very comfortable.

Tthanks I am enjoying going through wardrobe and thinking about what actually goes together .. and also slightly horrified - I have a lot of Toast!! ... I just 'found' the black poplin shirt bought last summer that I completely forgot about Blush ...but have changed top into charcoal grandad tee from last year as - apart from quick trip to the Co op for essentials - we are just plopping around at home today recovering after having had DD and the DGDs over for the last 5 days...

MrsCat1 · 30/08/2021 14:02

The grey dress is about five years old. Bought it new and still my favourite!

Saurus72 · 30/08/2021 14:29

@Laska2Meryls those checked trousers are fabulous and @Countmeout your dress really is beautiful. There’s one on eBay right now., size 14, quite tempting…

I thought I’d show you my Toast outfit today. The dress I bought last Autumn and I’ve worn quite a lot this summer - perfect with flat sandals. Worn with a Gap denim jacket and an old Jaeger tan bag that I’ve had for years. We’re popping out for a late lunch after doing kitchen renovations the whole of the BH weekend 😊

Lovely Saurus! I had the same dress, alas it’s now too big and has gone to a good new home via Toast Circle.

faustina · 30/08/2021 15:17

That dress is so pretty @Saurus72

@ScottishMouse - I dug put my smock for you. It's a small, so if the sizing of the super pricey one is similar, I wouldn't go smaller than that ( I'm 30e)

The trousers are the same colour - slate- and have been washed and worn lots, so you can see how pretty it is when it fades

You’re a star @faustina! Thank you! And it looks so lovely on you.
I think realistically the xs would never fit. Which is just as well given the ££££. I also think it might be one of those funny pieces that doesn’t get as much wear as I think it would because it is too warm for summer, too bulky to fit comfortably under a coat in winter, and in Scotland spring and autumn seem to last about 2 weeks each.
Thank you though, I appreciate seeing it on a person.

ScottishMouse · 30/08/2021 15:32

That is such a great dress @Saurus72. It looks fab with the denim jacket.

faustina · 30/08/2021 15:34

@ScottishMouse - yes, I think you're right. As I said I haven't worn it at all this summer - first time out of the wardrobe since last year!

Countmeout · 30/08/2021 15:35

Lovely@Saurus72. I have that one too.

Toast Islington obviously heard me asking for more styling photos of the denim jerkin, they have one on Instagram. But sadly only from the back! It looks like the model is wearing it slightly bigger though, it isn’t as fitted across the back. Maybe sizing up might be the key, would be a little longer then too.
It’s one of those pieces I am going to swither about until it is out of stock and then be mad at myself for sending back.

ToastCosILoveIt · 30/08/2021 16:06

Lovely to see some of the former seasons' clothes being modelled by you all.

Here is a jumper from last winter (yes, it is cold enough for it today) that I bought via John Lewis for a fraction of the Toast price, styled with some dark grey Cos trousers from early summer, Arizona black Birkinstocks and a grey Orla Kiely Sweetpea cross body bag.

Love the trousers @ToastCosILoveIt.

ToastCosILoveIt · 30/08/2021 16:19

@Blossomtoes, thank you, I think it is these ones. 38 is a true size 12 and they are super comfy: more a cropped trouser than a culotte I would say.

Blossomtoes · 30/08/2021 16:27

You’ve just cost me £59! Thank you for the link 😊

ToastCosILoveIt · 30/08/2021 16:43

@Blossomtoes, I think it will be money well spent! I can see me wearing them into winter with long socks or tights underneath.

Goodness, the Solovair green Dora boots are sold out in everything but a size 4. Good job I ordered my 5s last week: expected in warehouse on the 10th Sept. The Marylebone Toast shop did say they didn't expect to see them instore as they would sell out on pre-order.

Blossomtoes · 30/08/2021 17:42

I’m sure it will. Wearing them into the winter was my thought too.

ilovecherries · 30/08/2021 18:25

The issue I have with the jerkin is that I could see myself wanting to wear it with lighter coloured clothes, and the indigo colour rub will be horrendous. Last week I wrecked a poplin shirt after wearing it under a denim dress (that I’d washed 4 times to try and get the dye out).

Countmeout · 30/08/2021 18:38

Is it lined @ilovecherries though.

OP posts:
faustina · 30/08/2021 19:14

@ToastCosILoveIt - that jumper looks wonderful on you! Also the trousers are tempting me but I think I'd be too short for them Sad

ScottishMouse · 30/08/2021 19:37

That’s a good point @ilovecherries. It is lined, but the edge is indigo. Although I do have the Hal denim jacket and that has never caused any rub on light colours for me.

ToastCosILoveIt · 30/08/2021 19:39

@faustina, thank you. I am 5ft 5 if that is any help?

Blossomtoes · 30/08/2021 20:01

I’m 5ft 2in @faustina. I’ll report back when mine arrive. The worst that can happen is I have to send them back. I reckon I’ll cry though.

Snailhaterz2 · 30/08/2021 20:05

I live reasonably close to the Toast outlet shop in Shepton Mallet, and rushed there a few days ago because I'd heard it was closing. According to the staff member I spoke to, it isn't, but, given most of the other shops in the complex are closing I don't know how long its going to last. So, if anyone is driving down the A37, do drop in! My bargain was a pair of Solovair shoes - a sort of brogue/trainer cross, for £68.00.

iguanadonna · 30/08/2021 20:58

Love the black and white dress on @Saurus72 and the fair isle and the grey dress on their owners!
