Don’t get me wrong @ilovecherries, I really like the ecru colour but it doesn’t suit me. I have silver hair and no matter how bright a lipstick I used it washed me out. I was quite upset because it’s such a lovely dress.

The tala is like this on me. Roomy on bust.

This is where being bald is a positive! I tried it on with a silver wig and was meh. Then tried it with an ash blonde with darker roots and it all changed. I’d love it in a blue though.

I have dyed things before now 8f I really like them and the colour is wrong. Ghat pale coliur woulx be easy to dye dark blue / black in the machine. Would need to be careful about the stitching though - unless it's cotton it won't take...

Voice of dissension - I didn't like the batik dress. Found it a bit flimsy....

I was surprised the batik dress wasn’t lined fully. I have a couple in that style from 2018 and they both have lined skirts.

This one - fully lined so I can wear it all year really.

I think toast cut for long bodies.a As I enjoy seeing toast on 'real people' here are some of me in sale purchases: the placed check dress and cotton gingham dress. Not keen on the check dress on me as I think the top is too blouson-like. The gingham dress is v comfy but not very flattering! I agree with the check dress, at first glance I thought it was a dressing gown rather than a blouson. Have you tried the other dress with a belt, I think it would look much more flattering with a belt

Has anyone the Emma T-shirt in Pumpkin from JL sale? Mine arrived and it’s nothing like the colour I thought.. also my Annie trousers. Haven’t tried anything on yet and they arrived just as I was about to go out.

I think I have it from last seasons sale. Its an orange colour.

countmeout I bought it and immediately returned it to JL without unpacking it as I thought it was a very odd colour - a sort of cinnamon brown . I too expected a true orange colour.

I’ve tried it on @Gonegrey31 and it’s such a shame about the colour because it’s a great fit. I’ve it packed up already though as it’s definitely not for me in that colour.

The Annie side button trousers in ecru are a great fit too and I will keep those (although I feel a bit baker like ) they’re lovely and soft too, just the same fit as my Annie’s in denim. They’re probably a bit warm for a warm day but will work beautifully coming into cooler days and look lovely with the Mira Sweater I bought in Pumpkin (which is pumpkin).

On in indigo, pumpkin, khaki, rust linen one, cream stripe linen one, grey linen one, stripe plum line. They are all fab!

I picked up my Gansey sweater and quilted twill jacket from John Lewis today. I was only planning to keep one, but they’re both just perfect and classic staples. So I’m keeping both and not looking at anything new.

Does anyone have the Ashley long crop jeans and can advise on whether they've shrunk/stretched on washing a few times? I bought the indigo ones from JL in a 10 but they're a little loose on the waist/bum. They're ok as they are, would be great if they shrank a little and not good if they stretched!

I have them @Rosebath, have only washed them once but they haven't shrunk. They do get looser through wear before tightening up again when washed. I did try to size down from a 12 to a 10 but the 10 were snug when new although I expect they would have given with wear.

Thank you @ToastCosILoveIt that's really helpful. I'm guessing a size down would be snug on me too, I suspect I'm between sizes. I think I'll keep them though, they feel lovely on, such nice denim.

I was in ghe Hampstead store this morning - and bought the panelled Hemp trousers that are in the last styling video. They are v nice and v flattering. I thought I'd buy the neat Hemp jacket yo makd a sirt of suit but didn't like it on me - the vollar was wrong and the slightky cut away front wasn't for me.
NOTE: The trousers are HUGE. I bought a 12 and I am so jot a 12 in any known universe... Usually a 14 in Toast and 16 elsewhere...

Apologies if this has been discussed. I was looking at some trousers and a dress. All three items made in China. I only buy pyjamas from Toast now which are all made in India. In the past clothing was made in Romania, India etc. Is this new and has the quality remained the same?
