Not at all @Saurus72.
It’s not really like that one. The sleeves are not set in with a shoulder seam like that one. There is no shoulder seam at all, not even a dropped one, and when you hold your arms out, the underside of the sleeve comes in and joins the body of the dress in a slight curve and quite low down (maybe half way between armpit and waist. Does that make sense?? I would also say it is more oversized generally than that dress, so the waist is less fitted too.
Hope that helps a bit.

Saurus72 · 03/08/2021 14:50

That does make sense thanks @ScottishMouse. It sounds quite unflattering, will wait to try it in a shop as can’t be doing with hassle of returns. Thanks v much for the consultation 😊

faustina · 03/08/2021 14:52

@ScottishMouse - if you look on the kitty clogs website, it's only the heeled clogs which are narrow. The flat ones are wider - it has the measurements of them all on there - in fact, from memory, it says there are three different widths according to which clogs you order - I think this is what put me off ordering any since it seemed to be such a lottery, and returns weren't free! Very pleased you found some that fitted!

ScottishMouse · 03/08/2021 15:11

Ah thanks for that @faustina, I never looked there. Well, I would say the Sol and the Klassisk are plenty wide. They are really nicely made and have rubber on the soles to avoid that horrible clippy cloppy noise (I do not like shoes that announce me!).

I have a dress from Toast like that and you need to be really careful not to rip it. Its a very strange sleeve in that way.
neveradullmoment99 · 03/08/2021 19:08

Rip it when you are stretching.

Gonegrey31 · 04/08/2021 15:04

Hello fellow Toasties, quite a few things now on the John Lewis website on sale - last gasp I think...

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2021 15:22

I may just have splurged!

ScottishMouse · 04/08/2021 15:26

Ooh thanks @Gonegrey31, lots of things there. The only one I have been searching for is out of stock in my size sadly.

FiddleFigs · 04/08/2021 15:31

ooh thank you! Finally got my hands on the twill quilted jacket which I've kept missing in my size!
Laska2Meryls · 04/08/2021 15:35

Poo ! Missed out on the striped Alix.... Ah well..

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2021 16:10

Well i have bought the circular top in navy, striped alix trousers , pihu dress, oatmeal cardi, 2 dresses - batik navy one and the blue flowery one, the tala?'
Not keeping all of it of course. Just a try on session to see what's a keep and what is not.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2021 16:11

what's a keeper and what's not.
Tbh, no spend now after that until next month and on a limited budget from Sept onwards clothes wise.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/08/2021 16:13

Oh and i used my £80 e-voucher that they eventually gave back to me without apology in any way despite hanging on to it for 2 weeks denying they sent it.

ilovecherries · 04/08/2021 17:31

Oh dear … went a bit bonkers there! I bought the batik dress which I suspect may be too girly for me but I wanted to try it, and the chalk cord dress which I suspect may be too pale. Keepers will be the slate Alix trousers and the gansey jumper (unless too itchy)

Gonegrey31 · 04/08/2021 17:36

I’ve also bought the batik dress !

Countmeout · 04/08/2021 17:59

Thought I’d missed everything as I was just in. Bought the Annie trousers (my denim ones are great) and the pumpkin T-shirt. I’ve a feeling I tried it before and didn’t like it but will give it another whirl.
Thanks for the tip off @Gonegrey31

Pihu dress for me - in 2 sizes to hedge my bets! Still full price on Toast site. Thanks for the bargain alert.

Gonegrey31 · 04/08/2021 18:25

Ilovecherries I think you will love the Gansey sweater, I regret returning it (having bought it originally at full price) , and never found it again in my size. It was a lovely colour and very soft - I too hate itchy sweaters.

AuldFox · 04/08/2021 19:32

Nothing there to tempt but hope you all got some keepers!

TheChattyRat · 04/08/2021 22:36

I got the pihu but in a 14 rather than the 12 I would prefer. Anyone got it and does it run small (hopeful)?
Really like the look of the batik dress so look forward to seeing it on some of you here.

ilovecherries · 04/08/2021 22:40

I bought the pihu a while back to try, chattyrat and my normal size 12 wouldn’t fasten at the waist. Blush. I still fit all my other clothes, so I don’t think it was me (hopeful).

applecatchers36 · 04/08/2021 22:48

Chatty rat sorry but if anything I think the Pihu dress is large I got it in an 8 and am only ever an 8 in Toast (my non Toast normal size is a 10)

ScottishMouse · 05/08/2021 06:04

@TheChattyRat, I agree with cherries, I found it small when I tried it. Across the bust anyway. I tried a 12, which is the size I have in a couple of shirt dresses from Toast, but I would usually be a 10 in most of the tops and other styles of dresses. I hope the 14 works for you.

ScottishMouse · 05/08/2021 07:02

Sorry, wasn’t totally clear there - the 12 fitted me, but I would usually be a 10 in Toast non shirt dresses. So, hopefully the one you’ve ordered will work for you.
