It is the silk one - I really like it with flat sandals, feels quite 70s which isn’t a bad thing in my book!

Laska2Meryls · 30/07/2021 10:57

Sounds fab Saurus I love Goodwood ( not far from my neck of the woods , where I grew up)
I bought the Lotus nightdress , or supposedly a nightdress but its a dress weight cotton, and not at all see through.. in the last few hot days I have been wafting around on it as a dress/ kaftan but here it is some Toastie layering with it and the green linen crops ..
So pleased with it.. I sized up for extra waftyness .. but could possibly have got the S

Hmm not sure how you got 2 photos there....

neveradullmoment99 · 30/07/2021 15:16

Lovely @Laska2Meryls

Well I am absolutely furious at John Lewis over my voucher [ You may recall the story where I had an account credit for £80 from some Toast stuff that I had refunded from a voucher i was gifted and it was credited to my account only to be then told me that it should have been sent via e-voucher, which I have not received]
They have been stringing me along with sorting this out by repeatedly telling me that I should have received and email from vexrewards which I havent and I keep telling them. Last email I received was on Wednesday saying that this was to be investigated by their finance team and I would receive another email hopefully telling me that it was sorted and I have had another stock reply of ' You should have received an email from noreply@vexrewards and to check my inbox.
I am really quite upset.
I have emailed them yet again asking for a contact number so I can speak to someone. Will be absolutely taking to social media and make as much damage to them as possible over this if they do not give me my money back.
£80 is a lot for me :(

neveradullmoment99 · 30/07/2021 15:18

Sorry to vent Blush

neveradullmoment99 · 30/07/2021 15:27

Between Toast and now JLewis, what is going on?
I think JL has outsourced its gift vouchers so beware.

ilovecherries · 30/07/2021 16:09

I was toastified for a day in Edinburgh. Trainers spoil the aesthetic somewhat but I knew I’d be walking for miles. Everything several years old which I do love about my toast stuff.

Toast is there any stopping us?
faustina · 30/07/2021 16:29

@neveradullmoment99 - so annoying for you! I have had JL problems in the past and have found once you skip the first level of customer services, they usually put things right - it's the skipping that can take ages and cost a lot in stress. I hope you get there soon though

I've been debating with myself whether or not to keep the extremely expensive Alix indigo cotton drill trousers which arrived on Monday (along with some very forgettable sale tops). They're VERY expensive but I am going to keep as I love the shape and the fact that they're high waisted but also comfortable

If any of you want some bargains from TKMaxx online, they currently have some very nice Plumo things, and some Maison Lejaby bras which I have worn forever (a really good fit though usually very expensive). Off to try on my Plumo top now!

faustina · 30/07/2021 16:30

@ilovecherries - you look amazing!

Countmeout · 30/07/2021 20:09

Great pics everyone.
Dreadful about the voucher @neveradullmoment99, hope it gets sorted.

The new leisurewear is very nice especially the jumpsuit, some lovely nightwear too.

Anyone doing the online crafts they emailed about today. I thought the paper pulp looked interesting but not sure I could stand the mess. I did a one day paper making class onetime but couldn’t be doing with all that water in my own home. Dripping everywhere.

Dreadful service Never, so I suppose that tou won't be interested that JL now have some of the new Toast stuff on their website.....
I didn't make the cut for the Kindred Makers Eye event ( but tbh didn't expect to, am cynical sure these things always go
to insiders.
Faustina are they they fine striped Alix trousers? I am tempted, but so expensive!
I'd like to reorder the indigo denim Elena shirt in a smaller size also now that JL have it.. despite poor Never's experience I think that I trust JL more than Toast on quick refunds..

faustina · 31/07/2021 12:22

@Laska2Meryls - no they aren't striped

Alix

I was also thinking about the Elena tunic. Does it have pockets? JL doesn't say .. have you already tried? What was the sizing like? I also have my eye on the two denim dresses, but the smocky one - not sure if that top thing is buttoned, or fixed? Can you undo it?

Laska2Meryls · 31/07/2021 12:25

I dont think that it did Faustina.. you know I cant remember.. !

Laska2Meryls · 31/07/2021 12:29

Looked at Toast.. Faustina No it doesn't...
Youll need to size down ...

TempleofZoom · 31/07/2021 13:28

Thats dreadful service from JL !
They are renowned for their customer service so what is going on?

Lovely outfit @ilovecherries.

I have been back to Toast again to check out the new things.
I decided its worth the petrol and parking to actually go and try things on rather than all the worry of returning things and refunds.
Even if they dont have my size ( not happened so far) it gives me an idea and I can then order knowing it will fit.

I really love the cashmere/ cotton culottes I got late last summer and was interested in the Crinkle cotton check trousers .
They are lined in a blue mini check but nicely loose in a medium and these will be for chillier days.
I also took a fancy to the Field and Fleur cotton nightie .
That was all I had intended buying .

However I had a good look at the rails (wish the assistants would stop hovering and chatting at me !)
In case there was something I spotted online at a later date.
I tried the Aster dress and its nice, I sized down to a 10 and it fitted perfectly but I dont think the colours worked for me.

I saw the Linen Twill Sundress and my word its stunning!
I dont think it even registered seeing it on the website as the picture is very average.
Its a gorgeous midweight linen twill, beautifully cut and fits like a dream -again a size 10.
£185 but I knew I would regret it if I put it back.
I then popped into JL and they had some new stock in.
Really liked the colour of the Jute Gabis and they looked longer in the leg??
Size 12-huge on the waist but comfortably loose everywhere else.
I figured this weight I would wear with a light jumper anyway so went for it.
They are 3/4 crops on me but an improvement on the capri version previously.
Went to pay and they were reduced from £105 to £56.20 so very happy !
I will probably order them in a different colour.

Sorry that was long!

ScottishMouse · 31/07/2021 14:25

@TempleofZoom which is the linen twill sundress?
I was also in my local Toast this morning. Had hoped to try the new micro gingham dress & jumpsuit, but they were not in stock yet. I tried the trousers in the same fabric but would need to size down and they only had bigger sizes.
I also tried the new backless Kitty Clogs and loved them. Didn’t find them at all narrow, which I was expecting from reviews of the other styles. Didn’t buy but I might do soon.
What I did get though was the dark green viscose fan print dress from the Toast Circle rail. It’s probably half a size too big and I would never have bought it or even tried it on normally, but I was looking for something to wear to a baptism next month, and I think I can make it work with a belt to pull it in so it’s not so obvious that it’s a bit big and some nice shoes - no idea what kind of shoes though, I am very short so the dress is ankle length, but I don’t wear heels - any ideas anyone? I swapped it for a Toast dress I bought about 7 years ago for a wedding, never had an occasion to wear again, and now is about 2 sizes too small. Really love the Toast Circle initiative.

TempleofZoom · 31/07/2021 14:38

Its on the website -not sure I can link on this phone.
Its shown in Sienna
Model has her arms crossed helpful
Mine is Raw -the natural colour.
Its absolutely gorgeous fabric.
Luckily the other colour wont suit meGrin

An absolute example of how rubbish Toast styling and pictures are as I barely noticed it on the website.

ScottishMouse · 31/07/2021 15:19

Oh yes, I see it now. Have to say I never really noticed it either. Lovely to find an unexpected gem.

ilovecherries · 31/07/2021 15:51

Another day, another workwear jacket for another interminable covid walk. This one is his years prune sale offering. With Toast trousers and shirt from circa 2018.

Toast is there any stopping us?
AuldFox · 31/07/2021 16:37

Looking great! @ilovecherries

@ScottishMouse I’ve discovered toast Circle and have swapped a dress that was too big for a token that I hope to “spend” soon. It’s such a great initiative.

Morecoobell · 31/07/2021 18:10

Loving the outfits cherries!

And the idea of Toast Circle. Love so much about them just not their customer service right now … sigh … BUT have just realised that I will be in London in a few weeks, so I could shop in person! Whoop!

For those of you that have been to the London shops which would you say had the best selection?

AuldFox · 31/07/2021 18:27

@Morecoobell I think the Notting hill shop probably has the largest floor space in London, and most of the collection.

Morecoobell · 31/07/2021 18:32

Thanks AuldFox, I shall head there! It’s not for a few weeks so hopefully there will be lots of new stock to try on.

ToastCosILoveIt · 01/08/2021 22:07

Another nod to JL's Kin: ordered the Gingham Tiered Midi Dress and the Check Full Sleeved Smock Top. I was intending on returning one of them (if I liked either) but I like them both and am keeping them. The smock top's neckline and sleeves are sufficiently different from the dress to keep and will look great with jeans or black trousers and the dress is simply lovely and will look good going into autumn with tights and boots. I sized down as usual for Kin, both 10s although I am a high street 12.

faustina · 02/08/2021 16:09

@ToastCosILoveIt - you're so lucky they worked for you. I also really liked, and have tried the top without success. Can I ask about the neck of the dress ? On the picture it seemed to be quite high which is the thing putting me off ordering
