I so enjoyed the cocktail ring thread and noted so did quite a few others
What other lovely pieces have you bought, inherited or been given?

One of my favourite places to find bargains Building 2 at Hemswell Cliff in Lincolnshire
The blue ring wasn’t my style but took a picture in case DD wanted it

It’s not all about big bucks or bling - I love these Victorian turquoise earrings which are very obviously hand made and wonder who wore them and what else they were wearing and doing at the time

Be still my heart! I LOVE that apatite ring. It's very close to me so I might just have to go have a look at Hemswell Cliff.
I'm so enjoying looking at all your photos, please keep them coming.

Corrag · 25/06/2021 21:59

Wish I was close to Lincolnshire, would love to spend an hour or two there.

This is my amethyst & diamond ring.

After my sister was burgled and lost many pieces of real and sentimental value, some of which she never wore, the insurer advised her to spend the money on one fabulous diamond ring and wear and enjoy it every day.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/06/2021 22:25

This was my Nan's ring - though I never saw her wear it .
From the inscription it was given in 1922 and this is the otiginal box

Don't mind me asking but did you take that pic of the apatite ring recently?

The earrings behind it are pretty much an exact match for the ring my late dad bought me for my 18th!

JaceLancs · 25/06/2021 22:37

@MintyCedric - the picture was taken last week - rush back quickly - I nearly bought the plain looking topaz ring but had already bought a diamond bracelet and Pearl ring so was being careful

Eaumyword · 25/06/2021 22:40

@Corrag that is gorgeous.

Corrag · 25/06/2021 22:46

@JaceLancs is the topaz ring the one in the middle of the first pic? I was ogling that earlier, looks beautiful.

Corrag · 25/06/2021 22:47

@Eaumyword thank you

MintyCedric · 25/06/2021 22:52

Thanks @JaceLancs I'll email them tomorrow...I can't see them on the website.

Dad only passed away last month and I've been wearing the ring on a chain as it doesn't fit my fingers anymore. It has very little intrinsic value but obviously is v. sentimental.

JaceLancs · 25/06/2021 23:14

@Corrag
The topaz ring is the one in the middle at £105 - it’s fab but huge so would need making smaller which would not cost much

Did she do that @StartupRepair? I love my engagement and eternity rings and wear them every day. No burglar will touch them!
JaceLancs · 25/06/2021 23:36

As I said earlier in this thread @StartupRepair I thought the exact same - 30+ years later……lol

Love so many of these!

I’m guessing POA on the grays website means ££££

www.graysantiques.com/product/half-eternity-150ct-diamonds-ring

Oh I love this

JaceLancs · 25/06/2021 23:42

I’m not posting rings as already shared a few on previous cocktail ring thread which inspired me to start this one!
How about earrings?
I do love diamonds - classic and my birthstone as well as a couple of pairs of simple diamond studs which I wear most of the time (need to pierce my ears again to wear both)
I have diamond clusters and the wavy dangly pair which were a present from my DF and DM - treasure them as DF no longer with us and DM with dementia is her own separate story!
Not the best of photos but in real life the quality is stunning

Beautiful diamond earrings. Love the clusters.
@bendmeoverbackwards yes she does wear it every day. She has never married so never had that engagement ring moment.

Eaumyword · 26/06/2021 08:28

My funny gran used to say to me about POA - if you have to ask the price, you probably can't afford it! Grin
Seriously though, I've always wondered why POA is put on instead of a price? Surely the seller wants to sell the item and people might be put off from asking the price? Does anyone know why people use this selling technique out of interest?

Letsgetstarted · 26/06/2021 09:55

My bargain was a Emerald ring I purchased while living in Hong Kong in the 90s. My parents visited me and bought my brother a watch then gave me £170.00 so I used it to buy a ring. My mum got it valued a couple of months later £1,400.00. Smile apparently it was a good Emerald Confused

Friend years ago bought an emerald ring it was a huge lozenge shape set with diamonds. The value back here was astounding

justasking111 · 26/06/2021 14:30

Sorry purchased in Turkey
