I so enjoyed the cocktail ring thread and noted so did quite a few others
What other lovely pieces have you bought, inherited or been given?

This was my late mum’s diamond ring. She bought it on the last shopping trip I ever took with her and dad, and the last time I went out for lunch with them.

It’s one of my most treasured possessions.

@LunaNorth Flowers
It's a beautiful ring and I love this thread.

My MIL gave me this beautiful diamond and aquamarine pendant when DH and I got engaged. It had belonged to her mother and is from the 20s. I wore it at our wedding.

And I love this thread.

@InTheNameOfAllThatIsHonest I just reread Sense and Sensibility, and Gray's is mentioned in it! (I'm making an assumption it's the same one).

Ohhhh I love that!

This thread has made me go and rummage through my mums jewellery. She passed 28 years ago, when I was 10.

Here are some of the rings I was given. I think the cluster was her engagement ring, although there was a smaller one that I have put away and forgotten to photograph.

I have no idea if there's any real diamonds, but I'd suspect not.

I don't wear yellow gold. Would it be very expensive, or even possible to have this changed to white gold setting?

I have just found this gold ring in amongst my mums things. I have no idea whose, or even what the initials are engraved on it, but it's obviously a wedding ring and the date on it 24/06/20! 101 years ago today!! How weird is that?!

Anyone know what the other markings on it means?

ringadingdong · 24/06/2021 23:20

Can't attach the photos now Hmm

Eaumyword · 24/06/2021 23:31

@ringadingdong do you think it could be a great grandmother/great aunt's ring, passed down?
What do we think of my dress ring? Like others on this thread, I just love jewellery that's a bit different and has a history. This is diamond and white gold and I bought it more than 20years ago secondhand.

@ringadingdong how lovely to have your DM's rings when you lost her so sadly young.
Very weird date coincidence.

Fairlight99 · 24/06/2021 23:56

These are my little jewels given by my mum when I got married 🙂

I collect antique jewellery (I have something from every era - Roman through Tudor to today)

I was wearing these two earlier - a diamond and sapphire twist ring from the 1920's and an all sapphire ring from 1969

@claracluck1978 Beautiful ring - art deco jewellery is so stunning.

JaceLancs · 25/06/2021 06:38

I’m really enjoying this - there are some beautiful pieces
I had these bangles made from scrap jewellery of DM DD and pieces from ex DH
Originally the middle one had 7 diamonds taken from a flower shaped ring - then I lost yet another diamond bracelet (in a spa pool) they rescued part of it from the pools filter system and conveniently that bit also had 7 diamonds so I got my friendly jeweller to add them in as well!

I also had some Pearl chokers from the 1980s restrung into a bracelet and much longer necklace with the addition of gold spacers

My engagement ring is a 1910 filigree Edwardian platinum diamond ring. I can’t even post a picture of it because it’s so unique it’s outing. I’ve searched and searched for another like it for years and can’t find it. This is as close as I can find. My diamond is rounder.

Its nothing fancy compared to some people’s rocks, but I adore it and love to imagine it’s history. How many owners? We’re they as happy as we are?

Macavity yes, that's the one! Smile

Eaumyword · 25/06/2021 08:48

@Fairlight99 LOVE those bracelets!
Enjoying seeing all the photos of unusual and antique jewellery.

viewsoftheshard · 25/06/2021 10:14

This is such an interesting thread. I spend hours looking at antique jewellery online, and checking out the auction houses. It’s so lovely to see these special pieces being treasured.

Corrag · 25/06/2021 10:26

This is my most treasured. My Nana's sapphire & diamond ring. The sapphires are beautiful. I've loved this ring since I was a nipper.

I'd give my left kidney for a rummage in @JaceLancs jewellery box.

I'm not sure but the one just off Bond Street station is a staple for me every time I'm in the West End. Some truly gorgeous pieces.

JaceLancs · 25/06/2021 11:26

@Corrag
Just to satisfy your rummaging I’ll add a ruby bangle 😂

The sapphires are beautiful in your ring I did have a dark blue sapphire ring for a while but gave it my DD
Now have a paler blue Ceylon I think sapphire ring 😊
