The best thing you've bought recently.....

I've recently started working again after a few years being a SAHM. The idea of earning some money again is beyond exciting. I sometimes see threads on here where people talk about their favourite purchases and I covet stuff but haven't ever been able to partake in spending. So could we start a new thread? Any brilliant new clothes, beauty products or even household stuff - what's been your best purchase over recent months?!

Oh Christ. I've just disappeared down a light therapy mask hole now. Any advice anyone? Lots of pigmentation and would love to buy one that works.

Freeflo · 04/07/2021 21:55

I had really bad pigmentation and large pores and the only thing that has really made a difference is my skin&me prescription. Been using it around 7 months now and the pigmentation is still there but much better and my skin tone has really improved. I would love something to sort out my marionette lines but tried filler and didn't last long enough to warrant the cost. May just continue to wear a face mask even when we no longer have to 😷

Jiggy16 · 04/07/2021 22:29

Thank you for this! I'll start saving!

Lol yes, this has been one of the positives of wearing masks, hides most of my face!

Miu miu pumps and Prada flats (times 2).

Theyre classic and worth the extra money to walk in. Not only beautiful but super comfy.

Prettybubblesintheair · 04/07/2021 23:39

@peaceanddove

New Balance 574 trainers in olive green suede. A huge pump bottle of Aveeno body lotion. Much cheaper than fancier brands but twice as good. Skin feels like velvet. Harper Cigarette Jeans from M&S. My Holy Grail of jeans for my flat arse and slim hips. Hourglass Ambient Powder in Dim Light. Just like having a permanent soft focus filter on your face.

Finally, I am 5 weeks post tummy tuck surgery and have a flat stomach and nipped in waist for the first time in nearly 20 years. Have chucked out all my loose, drapery, size 14 tops and gleefully replacing them with fitted, slightly cropped tops in a size 10/12. So happy xxx

Which aveeno please?
jackstini · 05/07/2021 16:20

Really divided now beteen a Foreo Bear and a Nuface! Any other opinions?

Prettybubblesintheair · 05/07/2021 17:44

@peaceanddove please could you tell me which aveeno? I’m going shopping tomorrow and I want velvet skin for the weekend Grin

@sweetgingercat

A dupray steam cleaner - it's a game changer
I bought one of these two weeks ago and it's amazing! I watch these two professional cleaner guys on YouTube who constantly upload videos of themselves using the Dupray Neat to clean carpets. I suppose it's obvious but can you use it for clothes steaming too?
MrsSkylerWhite · 05/07/2021 20:20

Hip seat for my baby grandson. Brilliant! He’s much more comfortable , I’m much less strained.

lockef · 05/07/2021 20:24

I like pizza as much as the next person, but have so many people really been buying £600 pizza ovens??? Confused

LadyEloise · 06/07/2021 07:51

Spotlight Teeth Whitening Toothpaste.

Musmerian · 06/07/2021 07:56

My Eufy which I bought after reading the reviews on here. It’s worth every penny, particularly if you have pets. GHD glide, I wanted more of a blow dried look and less flat and it’s really easy to use. An Alex Monroe necklace from eBay - I have four now and I love them all.

Journeynotdestination · 06/07/2021 08:21

@jackstini I got the Foreo Bear as I read the Nuface can give done painful shocks to the face. There are none with the Bear. Also it’s really cute and nice to use! Apparently it has the most powerful current of them all. I’m having really good results with mine. It’s crazy how it lifts the eyebrows! My jawline is better too. Makes skin nice & soft.

It’s amazing isn’t it?😃

Journeynotdestination · 06/07/2021 08:50

Also, I shopped around & bought it here:

www.currentbody.com/products/foreo-bear-facial-toning-device?variant=34288149856300&cur=GBP&del_country=GB&utm_marin=mkwid_sgqALTcmZ-dm_slid__productid_34288149856300_new_ptaid_pla-921066755755&gclid=CjwKCAjw_o-HBhAsEiwANqYhp9_btxv7rdr5USrGTFN1IT_T8DLM49For57vorOn6Gi3RU0Cg2MM4RoC360QAvD_BwE

They have a voucher for new customers, 15% I think? It doesn’t come with a bottle of their serum but I just use my own. Am paying it off in instalments with Clearpay!

Not an Ad by the way!! Just trying to save ppl money!!

jackstini · 06/07/2021 09:32

Thanks @Journeynotdestination

That store also has a current deal where you get a free Luna Fofo Pearl worth £79!

Or Space NK have it for £223
Ultraonline have it for £170 but not sure I trust them...

ElvisPresleysSideburns · 06/07/2021 10:47

@BigButtons hope you don't mind me asking, I saw on another thread that you were doing face exercises...do you still do them as well as the Bear or just the Bear? (Sorry for hijack OPBlush)

I do fewer exercises now as the bear is so quick and a million times more efficient!

Soooo many things! I returned to work last year as well and it's been a true gift to be able to buy things, even going round the supermarket not having to add up the prices, I still have to pinch myself.
I've treated us to paddle boards, wetsuits & gear.
I've treated myself to handbags and shoes, for the first time I don't feel guilty about it.
I'm hoping the novelty of 'treats' passes so I can actually save some money, I was saving for a holiday, but that opportunity isn't there just now, for me I wouldn't be comfortable, so treating in other forms.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 06/07/2021 11:00

Oh yes, and a Eufy, just seeing someone else mention that, plus a sebo, was fed up of the Shark blocking all the time, really pleased with the Sebo, the Eufy is still in early stages and hoping I'll get used to it not being as magnificent a clean.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 06/07/2021 11:01

I've also bought hiking gear, proper hiking shoes and gear that isn't just sportswear.

princessTiasmum · 06/07/2021 14:49

The Foreo Bear sounds to be very popular and a good buy
I need something for my jowls and turkey neck, how good is it for these?
I have tried the NuFace, and various others like Dermawand and the Rio 60 second face lift, wasn;t thrilled with any of them
Anyone seen a noticeable difference in these areas?
tia

A gama professional hairdryer, dries hair faster and is super lightweight and small.

Seesawmummadaw · 07/07/2021 00:21

@lifeinlimbo2020 so far so good!!
