The best thing you've bought recently.....

I've recently started working again after a few years being a SAHM. The idea of earning some money again is beyond exciting. I sometimes see threads on here where people talk about their favourite purchases and I covet stuff but haven't ever been able to partake in spending. So could we start a new thread? Any brilliant new clothes, beauty products or even household stuff - what's been your best purchase over recent months?!

I was in Wilko the other day to buy some household bits and saw they had a vegan make up range...I'm not vegan but was browsing through it and ended up buying a foundation and concealer. Both are absolutely brilliant and foundation was only £4 and concealer was £2!

A paddle board so much fun and good exercise. I love it!

WelshMammy123 · 20/06/2021 22:51

@Nuggetnugget I've never had my eyebrows microbladed. It's worth the money then? I had Botox around 4 years ago before I had DD2 - that's on my list again now I'm working!

Loccitane hand cream

Whysolong7 · 20/06/2021 23:04

@peanutbutterandbananas

Clothes steamer from Amazon, it's brilliant. I never had time to iron things and now use this in seconds before work. Wish I'd got a cordless one though
Do you mind me asking which one you got?
vegas888 · 20/06/2021 23:06

@BigButtons

Mine has been 2 things both expensive but very very much worth their weight in gold. P50 toner which had completely transformed my face and removed wrinkles and the foreo bear which has removed my nl folds, smoothed out and plumped my upper lip, given me amazing cheek bones, lifted my saggy neck and eyebrows.
What’s P50 toner and where do you buy it? 🙂
sweetgingercat · 20/06/2021 23:12

A dupray steam cleaner - it's a game changer

MeowPurrGrr · 20/06/2021 23:15

Ugg slippers.

Drunk me thought my life wasn’t complete without a pair of brightly coloured £80 slippers, sober me was less than impressed and was going to return them…until they were tried on! My god I will never be without a pair every again!

MakeMineAdoubleChocolate · 20/06/2021 23:20

My new griddle pan. Its amazing for frying chicken. Chicken is all I really eat as well

holeyhole · 20/06/2021 23:22

ooni pizza oven here too-we have the wood pellet one- could be the best thing ever. to answer above MUST be used outside as similar to a BBQ. Get one and you will never buy a pizza again, kids love it and fight over who gets to wield the paddle.

2bazookas · 20/06/2021 23:41

OXO goodgrips extendable bath and tile scrubber, from Lakeland. Makes childsplay of cleaning two fully tiled bathrooms.

Lifeisforalimitedperiodonly · 21/06/2021 00:12

OMG. I should never have come on here. I have now ordered, short, a bath scrubber, facial cleanser and a drainer. Unfortunately when I went onto Next to order the shorts I ended up ordering 4 other things as well. Love this thread!

Iamthewombat · 21/06/2021 00:25

I came on to recommend Rituals ‘ritual of Jing’ body cream, gorgeous, smells like fresh green leaves, but now I just want that extendable tile brush.

Hughbert · 21/06/2021 00:37

Sodastream, e45 oil and sugar body scrub, new bras from m&s - the size is always right, but they had buggered about with styles and got rid of ones I like, they currently have styles that suit me again.

Wincarnis · 21/06/2021 00:48

Gabor comfort slip-on trainers - stretchy tops so they fit nicely & flattering for big feet.

BlackAlys · 21/06/2021 06:20
@Naaaaah I’m pretty sure it was ‘ embassy of beauty’ you do have to set up an account and fill in a silly questionnaire. They wanted me to start on the ‘weakest’ product but I have skin like a rhino so I emailed them and they send me the normal one. They were very good to deal with.
What's the foreo bear stuff? My upper lip in need of
Serious help

66babe · 21/06/2021 06:56

@WelshMammy123 I blame you for this !
I now keep googling all this wonderful stuff I don't have !!!!
I need so much of it
Didn't think a skin care product existed that I wasn't aware of ! And I've just spent £90 on trainers
Could someone please turn off the WiFi 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Have a lovely day everyone !

shelias · 21/06/2021 07:00

My LED Mask it really works and gives my skin a lovely glow :)

Laiste · 21/06/2021 08:00
@Laiste where did you get the shorts? I worry that I’m too old!
@Seesawmummadaw Amazon!

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0895GBDY1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?psc=1&th=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8

They are seriously comfy. Stretchy. You can sit down and bend down to garden in them and still breathe :) If you order up one size they will drop down a bit and sit just on your hips. They are short though. There's no getting round that. Had lots of compliments though.

I worried about being too old - and then thought fuck it! (which is in itself a sure sign of being old isn't it? HmmGrinGrin)

Nelia5 · 21/06/2021 08:17

Is this thread just just subtle advertising ? I would never spend £190 for and LED mask. I used to import them from China and sell them, they cost about £7.99. they are all made the same, before you ask. I stopped selling them because there is no scientific evidence that they work and I felt bad for charging £29. LED doesn’t penetrate the skin.

Seesawmummadaw · 21/06/2021 08:38

Thank you @Laiste I’ll have a look

peaceanddove · 21/06/2021 09:32

New Balance 574 trainers in olive green suede.
A huge pump bottle of Aveeno body lotion. Much cheaper than fancier brands but twice as good. Skin feels like velvet.
Harper Cigarette Jeans from M&S. My Holy Grail of jeans for my flat arse and slim hips.
Hourglass Ambient Powder in Dim Light. Just like having a permanent soft focus filter on your face.

Finally, I am 5 weeks post tummy tuck surgery and have a flat stomach and nipped in waist for the first time in nearly 20 years. Have chucked out all my loose, drapery, size 14 tops and gleefully replacing them with fitted, slightly cropped tops in a size 10/12. So happy xxx

isthismylifenow · 21/06/2021 09:50

EA 8 hour cream because we are in mid winter and my hands look they are double my age.
