I've recently started working again after a few years being a SAHM. The idea of earning some money again is beyond exciting. I sometimes see threads on here where people talk about their favourite purchases and I covet stuff but haven't ever been able to partake in spending. So could we start a new thread? Any brilliant new clothes, beauty products or even household stuff - what's been your best purchase over recent months?!

Yes! Only heard it on here and plan a trip to local M&S this week in the hope that they might have one hidden at the back of a shelf! It’s absolutely lovely stuff!

I can’t be doing with faff! I grab it wherever and whenever- making a cuppa? Do my forehead? Reading emails? Do my cheeks. I often do bits throughout the day rather than the whole face at a time.

Days actually- I couldn’t believe it. My finger hovered over the buy button for a very long time. It was a a lot of money for me. I got a good deal with space nk.
The results just keep building though. I don’t need to do it everyday now either 😃

Damn it Mumsnet I just bought a bear mini. Would like to add L'Oréal 8second water. It's some kind of wizardry. My fine hair is so much nicer when I use it. Only around £5.

I find them a generous fit and the straps have a bit of stretch in them

I've just bought a skirt by Kemi Telford and a bag my Matt and Nat. Both ethical fashion labels which you can buy at John Lewis. They haven't arrived yet, but I have high hopes. I'm trying to buy less stuff and buying more ethically.

Congrats on the job op! I'm also a SAHM, but we are pretty lucky at the moment with money, (unlucky with bereavements though, as a chunk of our "spending money" is inherited from my mum who died pretty young).

I'm excited to start job hunting next year though, when my youngest starts school!

It doesn’t look greasy or shiny on and it doesn’t mess up my skin . I can get cystic spots on my chin, a dry forehead and I have hypersensitive cheeks (a leftover from rosacea) that get red and rashy. I’ve used this daily for a month and nothing! So I’m happily using glycolic acid and will swap to retinol next week knowing my skin’s protected from (more) dark spots.

I got a sample in a beauty calendar and was astonished by it. It’s the best eye cream ever AND, as I reached the end of it, I noticed that my lashes were longer and thicker than they’ve ever been in my entire life. It’s spendy but my God it’s worth it.

Have just ordered this. Hoping for some good results.

These. I wear them most days. I’ve just bought a second pair because I’m worried about not being able to replace them.

2020nymph I use cleanser, effaclar duo instead of moisturiser (I sometimes use toleraine moisturiser on any dry bits or if my skin feels ‘tight’), then the anthelios sun screen, then make up. In the evening I use the cleanser and duo or toleraine as moisturiser depending on how my skin feels. I always use toleraine after acid toner.

My makeup seems to go on really well after the sunscreen. Better than on bare skin.
