The best thing you've bought recently.....

I've recently started working again after a few years being a SAHM. The idea of earning some money again is beyond exciting. I sometimes see threads on here where people talk about their favourite purchases and I covet stuff but haven't ever been able to partake in spending. So could we start a new thread? Any brilliant new clothes, beauty products or even household stuff - what's been your best purchase over recent months?!

@Nightbear

2020nymph I use cleanser, effaclar duo instead of moisturiser (I sometimes use toleraine moisturiser on any dry bits or if my skin feels ‘tight’), then the anthelios sun screen, then make up. In the evening I use the cleanser and duo or toleraine as moisturiser depending on how my skin feels. I always use toleraine after acid toner.

My makeup seems to go on really well after the sunscreen. Better than on bare skin.

Thank you Smile

@peanutbutterandbananas

Clothes steamer from Amazon, it's brilliant. I never had time to iron things and now use this in seconds before work. Wish I'd got a cordless one though
Ooh-may I ask which one?!

Skinny sauces. Maple sauce, butterscotch, cherry etc. They are all sugar free. I am type 2 diabetic.
Great in porridge and plain yoghurt. 😀

@Blossomtoes

Hope you like it as much as I do *@NowYouListenToMeFella*. It’s been a game changer for me.
Arrived yesterday. Will be hoping for a miracle.

Ooni ovens are awesome! We have the basic wood fired one, and it makes the best pizza ever, in about three minutes.

Also, Tropic skincare - the best skin of my whole life (I’m 52).

BlackAlys · 29/06/2021 13:21

@GuidoTheKillerPimp I've had a look for Tropic skincare and I can only find the suncream!

Try this one 😊

My Ninja dual zone Air fryer I haven't used it half to its potential yet but I've used it so much!
Also my tefal grill.

EllaPaella · 30/06/2021 12:46

We got the basic ooni pizza oven last week, best thing we've bought in a long time

ViciousJackdaw · 30/06/2021 23:46

A little bottle of almond oil from the pharmacy. Cots £1.10, own-brand and it's the nicest facial oil I've ever used.

tigerbear · 03/07/2021 21:14

Urban Decay Glow Setting Spray
Amazing stuff. Keeps makeup in place, even when sweaty/humid.
Even when wearing a face mask, there’s no transfer of foundation .

WelshMammy123 · 03/07/2021 21:31

So many brilliant suggestions. I've been paid now so am going to do a bit of shopping. Thanks everyone for your thoughtsSmile

Can I ask what the difference is between the foreo bear and the foreo bear mini? I have awful NL folds, had fillers last year for them - which is a major extravagance for me but wasn't overly impressed, and too expensive to keep up, thought maybe one of these devices could be good? £100 difference in price so not sure what to go for??

JaceLancs · 04/07/2021 00:50

Household item 2 new shoe racks
A jaeger navy linen dress from Marks and Spencer Outlet store
A diamond bracelet
My biggest pleasure though is a big half barrel planter which I’ve converted into a fish pond with fountain - I sit by it most evenings it’s really relaxing watching the fish and just chilling to the water trickling through

The big bear is much more powerful and does larger areas. Think the mini is for small areas like the eyes?
Blueberry40 · 04/07/2021 17:26

A peloton bike- wasn’t too sure at first but it’s becoming quite addictive! Also a beautiful coffee table and mirror from Tikka Moon and some amazing 90 degree workout leggings from TK maxx Grin

Ponks · 04/07/2021 17:32

A navy shirt in the Cos sale. Not my usual style but I love it and have worn several times already.

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 04/07/2021 17:44

We have an ooni wood fired pizza oven & it was a GODSEND over lock down.
It's also coming into its own again is that we can have friends over & we've learnt the art of not cremating the pizzas!
They're worth every penny imo

Bumzoo · 04/07/2021 17:45

Reviews for the foreo bear are a bit sketchy. Do they actually do anything? Sceptical me thinks this is an advertising thread.

lindyloo57 · 04/07/2021 18:14

@Bumzoo I agree, there is a couple of dermatology doctors on YouTube very handsome, they mention some things not to waste money on and I'm sure the foreo was one of them.

lindyloo57 · 04/07/2021 18:16

They are called Doctorly

Well- it has worked a bloody miracle on my face.
lifeinlimbo2020 · 04/07/2021 19:49

@Seesawmummadaw oooo. Does this cream actually improve dark spots? My pigmentation really bothers me but I've yet to find a cream that lessens it.

Moonwatcher1234 · 04/07/2021 20:58

Liz Earle skincare - cleanse and polish, skin repair moisturiser, calming botanical drops and hydrating cream mask. All fantastic and turning around my full red skin.

Nesptesso vertuo machine...I never buy coffee out anymore.
