Show me the dresses you're wearing this summer

I need to invest in some summer dresses to wear with white trainers or flat leather sandals.

Early 40s, size 12-14.

@MareofBeasttown I had that green Next dress in my basket last night but wanted to check with DS this morning before ordering him some shorts. Was totally gutted to see it was no longer available.

I may be tempted to actually go into the shop and see if they have it.

I bought the mango dresses too in both colours. Was expecting to like the navy more but actually the red is nicer! I sized down one size and it's fine however the waist is a little low on me as I don't have a long torso! It's fine when hoisted up though.

@lilimarleen my dress arrived and it is gorgeous! Fabulous colours, lovely design, falls to just below mid-calf.

@youshouldbeplotting I'd say it's true to size, maybe a little generous, but very slimming. I'm a 10-12 and went for a 12 as I have DDs and its perfect. Its cotton too, so a real bonus!

I think for the price those Next dresses are hard to beat.

I am in the process of losing weight so don’t want to pay too much for a (hopefully) transitional dress. Also I haven’t been much further than my local area this year and sadly I don’t see that changing soon.

I love some of the Pink Lemons and Albaray dresses, so as soon as I reach my target or have somewhere special to go, I will get one of those.

Just ordered the next dress. Fingers crossed 🤞

Just did a quick try on over vest and leggings and it looks good. Can’t wait to try it with proper underwear and hair etc done.

Feels fairly roomy on the top half which is unusual for me as I normally struggle with that. Material is nice and swishy. Colour is gorgeous. Short enough for me to wear with flats and long enough to dress up with heels.

My green Next dress has just arrived too. Ordered my usual size 12 and it's gorgeous but I think I could size down so I've just ordered the 10 just to see. It's nothing like anything I'd ever usually wear as I'm married to shift dresses or jeans usually but I feel the need for an update. It's my 50th birthday lunch in a fairly smart restaurant in London on Saturday ( postponed from April 2020!) so I'm possibly going to wear it for that but I'm also waiting on another dress from Mango. I've loved this thread - thank you.

Oh oh, I think I should have ordered a 10. I am lacking in the bosom department, but overendowed with tummy. I just find sizes so hard.

I've got middle age spread and 34e bust and the 12 is on the big size all over. Hoping the 10 will be just right.

I am a 34 B so I guess that means I will have to send it back and get the 10.

Been following this thread with interest! I have that red Mango dress (bought it a few weeks ago so was thrilled to see the love on here!!) and it’s fab, very lightweight and lovely shade of red, a winner for me!

And oh my god I love it. I had about £150 to spend on summer dresses and had been looking at cheaper ones in esprit and Cos, I could have got 3 dresses for the price of the Baukjen (even with a Baukjen code that gave me a % discount) but I’m SO GLAD I splurged on this one. It’s gorgeous, lovely light weight crisp cotton and this happens to be a shape that works on me. I never usually spend this much on one item, especially not summer dresses, but I’m trying to spend more on fewer items and this dress is really worth it for me.

That’s my summer-dress budget blown!!!

Just bought this linen/cotton mix from Zara and I absolutely love it, it’s a bit bridal almost with the covered buttons.

My checked dress from Crew has arrived, it's lovely but the waist sits high and on my rib cage rather than natural waist. Keeping it as it's very flattering. I'm 5'7" and not long bodied so assume it is deliberate

Ordered the Dorothy Perkins dress as recommended on here I look like an overgrown extra from little house in the prairie 😂

I got this from Uniqlo and have worn it loads. It's probably the most comfortable thing I have ever worn and I've had quite a few compliments.

I don't seem to be able to pull off maxi dresses - I always look a bit swamped, but this style seems to suit me.

What Next green dress are you all loving? I've searched the thread but can't find it. I like green.
