Show me the dresses you're wearing this summer

I need to invest in some summer dresses to wear with white trainers or flat leather sandals.

Early 40s, size 12-14.

Got this dress today in Monsoon. I'm a good size 14, 5ft5 and it's surprisingly flattering. I plan to wear it to dinner Friday....first since lockdown....and I can't wait!!

That’s a good find! I always want white maxis but I can never find any that won’t show my underwear. This looks a good option

Unfortunately the dresses that are mostly in the shops this year do NOT suit me at all (tall, athletic, flat chested, angular). The floaty/flowery/flouncy midi dresses that look so pretty on other women just hide my good points (arms, legs, waist) and make my small chest disappear completely. V-neck just shows my bony ribcage and shirt-dresses make me look masculine from the waist up! (I don't wear shirts either).

I was thinking I wouldn't buy any dresses at all this year but I will probably go back to good old Boden for a Florrie or an Amelie. Those styles are tried and tested for me and the Boden sizing really fits me (but I do worry about being very predictable/dull!)

I have bought several from Boden this year (see higher up thread). I realise that is a shocking admission to some on Mumsnet, but I think many of them are lovely and good quality! 😳
