Early 40s, size 12-14.

I've just ordered the mango dress in red and the Crew checked dress. This thread is great, I've struggled to find many dresses that aren't expensive polyester (that makes me pong).

I bought the red Mango dress off the back of this thread, but it didn't suit me. I'm an hourglass and it made my hips look huge! It was really big as well, I normally buy a 12/14 and the 12 was huge on me.

@MareofBeasttown I love that Next dress! It's out of stock in my size too. I wonder if they have it store? I doubt it!

I found that with the Mango one too @VioletCharlotte . I'm a similar shape and I'm not having much luck at all. Either too much material round the hips or puffy shoulders making me look matronly. Don't even get me started on elasticated waist.

@VioletCharlotte I am an apple with smallish hips and bust, so we should not buy the same dresses, I think:) That Next dress looks quite similar to the Mango dress, lots of fabric in the skirt.

No shame in that Bonprix dress - I think it’s far less mumsy and more stylish than many of the others posted here! Top 3 for me.

Being in my 60s I’m really surprised at some of the choices - unless you are 18, slim but shapely and stunning, I think some of the dresses would be v unflattering.

I got that one too, tried to get in 2 sizes to be sure of a good fit but the 10 got cancelled and the 12 is a little bit too big but it is now out of stock but hoping they may get more in.

Yes mine is slightly too big tbh.

That green Next dress is lovely.

The Mango dress is a much better fit once it's been ironed. It'll sit on the hips properly rather than bunching up round the pockets.

Omg I'm loving the Apricot and Desigual dresses!
