I need to invest in some summer dresses to wear with white trainers or flat leather sandals.

Early 40s, size 12-14.

Pictures and links all gratefully received Smile

Just ordered that mango dress in red and also really like that next mini dress for £20!

AnnieSnap · 01/06/2021 13:06

@AuldFox

Great thread!

Has anyone bought a dress that doesn’t require ironing? I mean the kind you can crush into the bottom of your suitcase and it still comes out looking perfect? I don’t want to iron on my holidays!

I find that Boden jersey dresses usually don’t need ironing.
Beautiful3 · 01/06/2021 13:30

@mildlymiffed love that dress. Do you find the sizes true to size? I'm a 10 generally but sometimes a 12.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 01/06/2021 13:35
Oooh I love that!!!

It is OOS at the moment-

how does the sizing run?

dramaqueen · 01/06/2021 13:43
Hi zigzag can you tell me what the hit is like please? I’m a 14/16 and 5 4” and wondering what size to buy
AuldFox · 01/06/2021 13:46

Thanks for the tip mammamia!

AuldFox · 01/06/2021 13:47

Any in particular AnnieSnap?

Daisy829 · 01/06/2021 14:02

@mammmamia I’m going to order those dresses too! They are lovely.
I’m wearing this today

Not much stock available unfortunately but possibly in store.

mildlymiffed · 01/06/2021 14:05

@Beautiful3 think the sizing is pretty accurate!

Horehound · 01/06/2021 14:11

I like your taste @AnnieSnap :)

@mumsiedarlingrevolta and @TangoWhiskyAlphaTango, re the mango sizing. I’m a 12-14 Apple shape, and I got L, because it’s all there was. I’m 5ft1 and it’s down to the ground, but I just hoik up the elastic. The only drawback for the U.K. (I’m living in the desert) is that it’s very, very thin and the slits up the side are quite long, so you might not be able to wear it decently in the wind!

Horehound · 01/06/2021 14:22

@ellapaella oh I do like that dress. What shoes do you wear with it?

@foxychox also like your one, again what shoes?! I'm so bad with shoes!

@Horehound - silver Supergas, mostly because I have plantar fascitis at the minute and they are the only shoes I can fit my insoles into!! Although they looked pretty good I thought!

zigzagaway · 01/06/2021 14:50

@dramaqueen I'm also 5ft 4 and between sizes so went for the larger and its just right Smile

Horehound · 01/06/2021 14:56

@foxychox thanks. Yep they look cool. I am pregnant and have a bad back too so don't wear heels or anything so will give these a go :)

Horehound · 01/06/2021 14:58

@EllaPaella sorry also meant to ask have you actually received the dress now? I did a quick Google and the company don't have much reviews and I dunno, seems a bit scammy?!

EllaPaella · 01/06/2021 15:12

@Horehound not got it yet, There are reviews on trust pilot and they have an address for their company on the website. I paid my credit card just to be sure. I'll let you know when (or if!) it arrives.

Horehound · 01/06/2021 15:14

Yes I did see those but wondered if they were real! Ok please do! Fingers crossed :)

Dellabob123 · 01/06/2021 20:57

I’m jumping in and adding that this thread has cost me a lot of money today!!!

I just bought the m and s o e posted below and umm if over this warehouse one that someone mentioned ...but, can someone tell me how to wear it for sunny day time wear? Can it be dressed down? It’s so pretty and I want but just not sure I’m brave enough. Cardi? Denim jacket? Trainers or sandals?

The long stripy dress is £16 by F&F at Tesco.

Thanks, @RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie - I am usually a 10, sometimes a 12, so I guess XS? I have quite a few Arket cardigans but they are S.

AnnieSnap · 02/06/2021 00:51

@Horehound

I like your taste *@AnnieSnap* :)
Thank you 😀
JMAngel1 · 02/06/2021 06:38

It seems mandatory to wear ditsy floral voluminous dresses at the moment.
I am v petite with big curly hair and just can't wear them - I fhink they look fab on very tall sleek haired tanned women but I fear I would look like a crazy lady Grin
It's saving me a fortune though.
