I need to invest in some summer dresses to wear with white trainers or flat leather sandals.

Early 40s, size 12-14.

I've got this in these colours and also in the orange pinky stripes. I love them both. I'm mid 40s size 12 and 5 foot 3.

PyjamaFan · 01/06/2021 07:21

Sorry, I mean this colour and the blue stripes!!

BillStickersIsInnocent · 01/06/2021 07:22

This one from Next -

Theres a lovely tiered floral dress in Tezeniz atm, £25. I'm wearing it with a Boden cropped cashmere cardigan.

JudyDreams
I'm 5'2 and it's ankle length on me. If you order it, size down a lot! 😁

HelebethH · 01/06/2021 07:35

MareofBeasttown I am noting your comments about sizing up. I wanted to order the Wierdfish Tallahassee , but having never bought that brand I was not sure whether they were true to size. Will go online now and order. Thank you.

This is super comfy and flattering.

foxychox · 01/06/2021 07:51

I wore this one at the weekend and got lots of compliments, even from the tube station manager as I swished past!!!

I just bought this as well from Nobody's Child. Really not sure about it- the model looks a bit odd and I am not keen on viscose- but hoping it will work for a pronounced apple shape. www.nobodyschild.com/lenzingtm-ecoverotm-black-and-white-spot-rachel-babydoll-midi-dress.html

Love your Albaray one Foxy, I think that wide shirring is really flattering. I also like the Next floral one, that would work open over jeans and a vest top too and with boots in autumn.

The M&S ones haven’t arrived yet but I’ll let you know what the sizing is like when they do. I tend to find M&S run big

EllaPaella · 01/06/2021 09:37

I've got a few lovely ones I'm wearing but also just got this one https://libbyloves.co/collections/dresses/products/layla-coral-maxi-dress?variant=39288745394263

readwritelove · 01/06/2021 10:28

I’ve just ordered the Mango dress! (the red one).

TangoWhiskyAlphaTango · 01/06/2021 10:34

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie

Just bought this one from Arket for wearing with a denim jacket. It says it's knee length, but it's maxi on me. Comes up huge - I', a 14 and needed XS.

Tried this on today from Cos and it's a beautiful dress but just not right on me.

I love that Arket one - I am also a 12 -14 and may have a look. I just bought that Cos dress and absolutely love it, have been wearing it with leggings under and trainers for the colder days
TangoWhiskyAlphaTango · 01/06/2021 10:36
Love this in the red. Can I ask how it fits? I am a 12-14 but they only have a 12 left in stock.
MareofBeasttown · 01/06/2021 10:49

Love that Mango dress. This is going to be an expensive thread for me. Also a lot of v reasonably priced cotton dresses in Uniqlo. A bit plain, but I do like plain that can be accessorised.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/06/2021 11:02

Tango I might go back to Cos and try a smaller size, but I think it's the big buttons that didn't work for me.

snowballer · 01/06/2021 11:03

Loving this thread - I was in a wash of too many dresses online to look at and this is filtering it all very nicely - please keep them coming!!

AuldFox · 01/06/2021 11:13

Great thread!

Has anyone bought a dress that doesn’t require ironing? I mean the kind you can crush into the bottom of your suitcase and it still comes out looking perfect? I don’t want to iron on my holidays!

ExConstance · 01/06/2021 11:42

this stripey Boden one I have worn this out to lunch with friends twice and today to work for the first time, much admired on each occasion.

Zinnia · 01/06/2021 11:42

Am impatiently waiting for a couple of checked dresses to arrive from Next (never usually buy clothes from Next but they look lovely) this sleeveless sundress and another one with sleeves. Second one reminds me of the ever-popular Monsoon midi that they're doing in green gingham this year (and white, and navy blue). Have a bit of a thing about gingham going on at the moment!

MerylSqueak · 01/06/2021 12:00

@IToldYouIWasFreakyThanks for the HM link. I'm giving that one a go.

I never iron, when going away I wrap stuff that gets creased in tissue paper and pack it in the lid of the suitcase which has a separate pocket. I keep the sheets of tissue in the case and re use until it’s worn out. Works pretty well.
