I’d love to wear this look but always feel a twerp when I try it. Can anyone direct me to a nice floaty dress? I don’t like strappy top bits s as bad all these dresses arrive abd when I try them on I look like a sack of spuds. I’m a size 6 and 5 foot 6. Help!!

I realise you were talking about yourself and not anyone else. It's my frustration with the entire sentiment really; that women should always endeavour to look less than they are.

I do get what you mean, and I really couldn't care less if my boobs, arse, stomach etc. look big - I got over that years ago - but I just don't like looking down and seeing large white feet!!! It's probably not even that they make my feet look large, more that white shoes scream "look at me". I certainly don't want to make myself appear smaller than I actually am, just my feet!

I've just ordered two pairs of low profile trainers from TK Maxx, one white, one navy. I'll see what they are like when they arrive. I'd normally wear loafers or sandals with a dress. Still can't quite bring myself to buy a denim jacket - they look great on others but I feel quite weird in them.

Kennycat I don't know if you can get to the shops but I was able to actually try on clothes yesterday (Scotland) which was exciting and strange. I tried on 5 different styles of dresses and chose a few, was such a refreshing change to online shopping! Loads without strappy bits, that's not something I'd choose either.

@HomeSliceKnowsBest I got mine from SHEIN. I wasn’t expecting much really for the price (around £10-£12 after the discount codes!) but it’s amazing and much better than I thought it would be!

I’ve since gone on to order 3 more Grin

ooh that does sound both exciting and strange! Which were your most successful shops did you find?

There were hundreds in New Look but think any of the usual brands (Next, DP etc) should have a selection of the sort of thing you're after. Only place I saw nothing suitable was Primark.
