Sorry if there’s already a thread, couldn’t see one.

Just seen a pic of the happy couple here

All other issues aside, I love her style! I though she’d become a bit less boho and casual in recent months but the dress is a return to form :o

As for him, I think we can conclude from his wedding look that his hair physically cannot be brushed.

Of course she had a flower crown 🤮

She’s poundshop boho. I hate this trend of “hippy vibes” for wedding when the people doing them are as far from hippy / boho values as possible.

buggerbuggery · 30/05/2021 14:26

@Louisianna16 that is different because it is your second marriage.

Serpenta · 30/05/2021 14:30

Her love of the hippy boho aesthetic seems at odds (to me) with her preference for very unhippyish and boho Johnson, Harry Cole of The Sun, and no doubt others of that same right wing ilk.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/05/2021 14:30

"By the time we got to Woodstock ..."

Anyone else old enough to remember that? Wink

diddl · 30/05/2021 14:30

So if the Catholic church doesn't recognise his previous marriages-do they consider all of his kids illegitimate?

MrsBunHat · 30/05/2021 14:32

I like the dress but it doesn’t suit the Westminster Cathedral/Downing Street setting.

But I think that's partly what I like. She's kept her own style, which isn't very Downing Street but who cares. I was worried she was being styled into a boring identikit first lady type style, similar to the way Meghan M's style changed, because I actually like her fashion taste and like to see what she's picked (I felt similarly about Theresa May though she was more formal, she still has a cool twist)

Well the shallow side of me anyway :)

The pair of them look like the Raggle Taggle Gypsies O! or The Wreck of the Hesparus also springs to mind.

But she does look happy, and I wish them much joy in their life together.

buggerbuggery · 30/05/2021 14:34

His suit and tie look the same as the one he was photographed wearing when he was on a date with another woman.

midsomermurderess · 30/05/2021 14:35

There's nothing 'Poundshop' about what she's wearing. The dress was almost £3k. Dislike her all you like, but make barbs, if you will, that at least reach the target. And boho, well it has never been a pricey look

CastAColdEye · 30/05/2021 14:36

I quite agree.
buggerbuggery · 30/05/2021 14:37

@diddl the Catholic Church recognise his first marriage was annulled so does not count. They recognise the second marriage as valid. Any other children would be seen as illegitimate.
It is a lie that only marriages in catholic churches count. Note the newspapers saying this is quoting individuals who are not Catholic Priests or representatives from the church.

derxa · 30/05/2021 14:44

@JaniieJones

I'm surprised they released a picture knowing how nasty people would be.

'Just imagine him naked? 🙈🙈🙈I don’t care how much charisma he has. That’s a sight I don’t even want to imagine, let alone see.'

The poster who said this I'm presuming you're a perfectly toned size 10 that people would want to imagine naked? Thought not.

Yes I wonder how well most of us would pass inspection.
Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/05/2021 14:44

The Catholic Church recognise his first marriage was annulled so does not count

On what grounds I wonder?

Interesting to see Boris was baptised a catholic, later converted to CofE and has now reverted to being a catholic again
What next - Hinduism? Islam? Zoroastrianism? Buddhism? Maybe it'll depend on who he meets next ...

junipertree2 · 30/05/2021 14:49

She looks lovely, he looks a heap, but why have they issued yet another picture of the back of Wilfred's head? I think this trend is so silly and precious and petty. It's a picture of his blond curly hair, that's it.

Sunnysideup999 · 30/05/2021 14:49

I see a touch of Carole Baskin . He looks unwell still

buggerbuggery · 30/05/2021 14:51

@Puzzledandpissedoff yes I wondered on what grounds it was annulled.

LobotomisedIceSkatingFan · 30/05/2021 14:56

Oh God! It is a bit Baskin, isn't it? Brilliant.

Loving the people wishing them a long and happy union. I mean - it'd be heavily against the run of play, but ok. Crack on 😂

Cailleach1 · 30/05/2021 15:03

@HideousKinky

Can anyone explain why they were allowed to get married in a Catholic Cathedral when he is twice divorced?
If he has never been married according to Catholic rites, he is not regarded as having been married before. If he had been, and his spouse was still living, he would not be eligible to to marry under the Catholic sacrament of marriage. Unless that prior Catholic marriage has been annulled (i.e. declared not valid by the CC).

You can get blessings though, or possibly get one of those rebel Catholic priests to do you.

Sheerheight · 30/05/2021 15:03

That was my thought , great dress.
I've watched Say Yes to the Dress Lancashire and found the dresses to be pretty naff , blingy, samey.

viques · 30/05/2021 15:04

@SnottyLottie

Oh my goodness she looks beautiful and I love love love the boho dress and floral crown 😍
She does look happy, and good luck to her, but I think the dress is more romantic we are writing our own vows country wedding in a little church followed by a hog roast in a field than RC Cathedral and canapés in number 10.

Mind you, the groom isn’t my idea of loves young dream so maybe she has compromised on some things but kept the fantasy alive with the dress and floral crown.

Serpenta · 30/05/2021 15:04

If he has never been married according to Catholic rites, he is not regarded as having been married before.

Not true. The Catholic church recognises Protestant weddings as marriages.

Boris certainly is, Carrie not so much.

ok that was quite hilarious.
SpindleWhorl · 30/05/2021 15:08

@diddl

So if the Catholic church doesn't recognise his previous marriages-do they consider all of his kids illegitimate?
I believe yes, they are illegitimate to the Catholic church.

And any priest who thought my children were 'not legitimate' wouldn't be bloody well marrying me, shiny priestly frock or not.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 30/05/2021 15:08

Don’t like the dress at all. Dislike the headdress even more.

Dislike someone who could marry Johnson even more than I dislike her style.
