Do people moisturise their whole body after every bath/shower?

Or how often? And if so, with what? Have you any good everyday recommendations that are not too expensive, as I assume it takes a lot of product??
I have got very lazy with lockdown and don't think I have moisturised my whole body in over a year ...

Interested in this thread. If I do it every day my skin goes too moisturised and seems to develop a weird layer of moist over it but I can't find the nice point between that and a bit dry.

museumum · 14/05/2021 20:48

Not a chance! I get about ten minutes a day to shower and dress, if I condition my hair or shave my legs I can’t moisturise too. I do it maybe twice a week. In summer I use suncream on my arms and legs so get a nice one.

Beebopawhop · 14/05/2021 20:57

Every single day mostly Nivea products all over. Use castor oil for my feet when I can be bothered as have very dry heels. Moisture my kids up too every evening after their showers ...I've always done this since teenage years too

BetterThanKleenex · 14/05/2021 21:03

I smother myself in coconut oil just before i get out of the shower, then wipe it off with a towel after letting it sit for a few moments. I usually brush my teeth while it sits so it doesn't take any longer than usual drying. I don't have particularly dry skin in general but this makes my skin so soft.

Handsnotwands · 14/05/2021 21:07

This is genuinely news to me. I had no idea people did this. Why did no one tell me? And when should I tell my daughter?

redcandlelight · 14/05/2021 21:09

only eczema areas and under arms after shaving.
I hate the feeling of lotion making clothes sticking to
my skin

Inastatus · 14/05/2021 21:11

Yes I do. My skin feels tight and dry otherwise. I use Tropic Bodylove.

Mrsdoubtfireswig · 14/05/2021 21:15

I do most days, use a variety soap and glory, aveeno, body shop etc and use Vaseline or heel genius on my feet too. I find I can get away without doing it for a couple of days but after that my skin dries out (and my feet get so dry they become painful with rough heels)

Nataliafalka · 14/05/2021 21:17

Oh god I am so rubbish. I do it about twice a year

Aloadaballs · 14/05/2021 21:18

@Pinkandwrinkly

Aloadaballs Avon are online too. It's possible to buy their products without a local rep.
Thank you! I’m off to google Grin
IloveJudgeJudy · 14/05/2021 21:29

Yes, I do. Usually Tesco aloe Vera cheap body lotion. Sometimes body shop body butter on my arms.

paraffinwax · 14/05/2021 21:31

Yes, because I have eczema and it itches if I don't. If I didn't have dry skin I wouldn't bother!

Neolara · 14/05/2021 21:33

No. Never.

Ilikecheeseontoast · 14/05/2021 21:37

Erm no. Really don't have time plus I'd be all sticky and freezing!

ladymalfoy45 · 14/05/2021 21:37

Yep. Always have and when I wearing hosiery I don’t that that skin dust if I have to hoike up my tights.

Ginevere · 14/05/2021 21:41

I’m a total obsessive. I use a scrubby glove in the shower, then body cream every night. I have three faves that I switch between and I never miss a day. It really makes a difference!

Branleuse · 14/05/2021 21:42

No, hardly ever bother

BackforGood · 14/05/2021 21:44

No. I can say this is something that has never, ever crossed my radar until this thread.

PurpleDaisies · 14/05/2021 21:45

I don’t. In summer when my legs are out they get a weekly moisturising but that’s about it. I use a shower gel with argan oil that does the job.

Lucked · 14/05/2021 21:48

I use stuff that can be applied wet. I either use oil -like baby oil but I put it in a spray bottle or Sanctuary spa Wet Skin Moisturiser

Boots

doodleygirl · 14/05/2021 21:51

Yep, have done so since being a teen, I’m now 57, and have great skin. It doesn’t take long, I use many different brands and oils. Worth the extra couple of minutes.

Goodtohear · 14/05/2021 21:53

Aveno - I like the lavender one, dd likes the plain one.

MozzchopsThirty · 14/05/2021 21:53

Every day, sometimes twice a day if I bath or shower at night too

I have amazingly soft skin and people comment on it all the time

Vaseline intensive care is great, cheap, can buy it everywhere.
I like the green one on holidays as after sun and the yellow or white one for everyday use

Surroundedbytime · 14/05/2021 21:56

Nope, very rarely.

aiwblam · 14/05/2021 21:58

No. I just don't think it's necessary.
