Just ordered my first Mulberry bag

Still had birthday money from start of the year, so after constantly looking at them online I have just gone for it! Quite excited but also feel a bit guilty!! It is birthday money and it was my 40 😬

Why on earth would you feel guilty?? Do you think men feel guilty about their very expensive bikes/motorbikes/cars/model railways/other hobbies and things that make them happy? No, they don’t. And no one gives them any grief over spending huge amounts of money on them.

Yes this is so true!! DH has a season ticket for his football team and has online access to games for his money so at least I can keep my bag and hand it down to my daughter 😬😂 See more justification 😂

Ohhhh lovely! The Lily is a classic and oxblood is a beautiful colour - I have a small new Bayswater in oxblood and it’s very versatile, I use it a lot especially in autumn/winter.

I was going to buy the Darley satchel as it was cheaper, then I thought I have wanted the lily for years, why not pay a bit more for the one I actually really want. I have a french purse in oxblood I got 5 years ago and it still looks great.

The new colours look lovely too. I ordered online from John Lewis, I'm tempted to go to the mulberry shop today to see it in person! John Lewis only had 5 left in stock so I just ordered it in case it went out of stock

Why do you feel guilty spending your Birthday money on something you want? Isn't that exactly what it's for?

What do you think you should do with the money?

But in reality, I totally understand how you feel. I know my mum & my aunty (the only ones who give me birthday money) would like me to spend it on 'nice clothes/shoes' so I feel guilty spending it on other stuff, but not guilty enough to actually spend it on 'nice clothes' because it's just not 'me'. I'm 52, fat & DETEST clothes shopping it's a punishment not a pleasure!!

Personally it doesn't excite me to buy a bag for £800, but I'd spend that on something that does interest me kayak/camera lens/tent /(pre Covid) travel

I used my lily for the first time this year! Love them! I pad mine out with flannels if I'm only carrying my purse and keys in it

My MIL gifted me several mulberry bags she no longer wanted some years ago and they wear very well.
