What jean will you be wearing in 2021?

So I'm seeing everywhere that skinnies are officially out, and pretty much anything else goes this year. Mom jeans look utterly terrible on me. I'm an hourglass with bigger thighs and a bum, and find that mom jeans and the other popular styles that were in the last few years accentuate my thighs and make my bum look saggy and flat. I think I've settled on some bootleg and flared styles but am also considering some ultra wide legged ones that I can wear with trainers and flats. But I do feel like a bit of a '90's skater kid. I'd love a cropped pair of jeans as well, but at 5'3 they can be trucker to pull off on me. I'm loving these styles in general though, so will try and find some that suit me.

A few of the "on trend" styles for this year. What do you think?

I am very happy to see the end of skinny jeans. I will not be wearing anything with a low waist though.

So many styles so depends on your shape and height. I like cropped and wide.

I wear these and look damn fabulous in them Grin

I don't wear jeans, but I find bootleg a very flattering style.

bendmeoverbackwards · 02/05/2021 10:00

@lockdownalli

I have opted for a slim bootleg with high rise.

This is the style that suits me best. I am medium height with a mum tum, huge chest, and skinny legs (don't I sound gorgeous!)

The slim bootleg shows off my slim legs but balances out my top heaviness.

Do you have a link for these please @lockdownalli?

I wear these Eva jeans from M&S.

Really good value

bendmeoverbackwards · 02/05/2021 10:47

I like those @lockdownalli which length did you get?

lockdownalli · 02/05/2021 10:55

I bought a 12 short because I didn't want them dragging on the floor and will wear with Converse. I am 5ft 5. The model is 5ft 7 and I suspect she is wearing regular length but it would be useful if they stated this.

I might buy regular length too though......

I will be wearing the 30 odd pairs from my own wardrobe - skinnies, mum jeans and straight legs. Over the years I have learnt that these are the only styles that work for my shape and height

RichardMarxisinnocent · 02/05/2021 11:48

@Mandalay246

I always hated skinnies and wore bootleg the whole time everyone else was wearing them, so will continue. I'm also waiting for a pair of flares to arrive.
I've also been wearing bootcut the whole time everyone else was in skinnies and will continue to do so. I do own one pair of skinnies, but have to be careful what tops and footwear I wear with them to avoid looking like a turnip with clown feet (apple shaped middle, with skinny calves and ankles - they make some shoes look massive in comparison). Bootcuts look good on me, and I prefer to wear what suits me.

Anyone fancy these?

I do actually although not with the tartan blanket although I suppose it would keep my bum warm. I suit that exaggerated flare and flares in general.
Deathraystare · 06/05/2021 17:41

looser legged ones - fed up with getting a seam inprinted on my thigh!

Also now have fluid in legs and feet so it would be comfier not to wear skinnies. Why did I ever think my sausage legs would look good in skinnies. Pisses me off that that was all you could get a while ago , that and the ripped look which would not be a good look on me.

FourTurnings · 06/05/2021 22:02

Absolutely won’t wear skinnies, they don’t suit me and never have really. Dunno why as I’m tall and quite slim but they just don’t seem to work. I like Mum jeans, straight crops or boyfriends.
