Chin hairs

Not sure where to post this but recently I've had two chin hairs. Thick bristly ones like a man. Much darker than the hair I get on my legs etc which are blonde. I plucked them out when I saw them but why am I getting them? I'm 33.

@Sheepareawesome

Yep. If it helps, by your mid forties they will be white.
Mine were thick, dark and highly noticeable in my forties and didn't naturally go pale.

The only thing that worked is IPL. Some of them are now thin and paler.

I had monthly electrolysis for years - it was just money down the drain.

cakedays · 27/04/2021 23:36

god this thread is making me feel better. I'm now beset by the little fuckers. The worst is when you can feel one's there but you can't get it with the tweezers to come out...

NanuNanuM · 27/04/2021 23:36

I have a crop circle under my chin.
Now that I work from.home I sit at my desk in the morning with mirror and tweezers and pull the fuckers out, I lay them out on a piece of A4 and admire my tweezer ability.

PrincessTuna · 27/04/2021 23:41

Jml face shaver thing works best for me.

I got a bumpy chin from plucking. So I do a once over with this gadget every morning.

On the plus side, the chin hairs took my mind off the nipple hairs.

cakedays · 27/04/2021 23:41

It's not just hairs on the chin, either. Why does ageing have to mean I've grown a little forest around my nipples? Confused

x-post PrincessTuna! Grin

Electrolysis is the only method although I haven’t tried laser no idea if they work on a dozen black think haird

PrincessTuna · 27/04/2021 23:43

Haha @cakedays! Great minds think alike/have hairy nips!

Tealvelvet · 27/04/2021 23:44

Wait till your pubes go grey wahhhh

Lilmzsnowflake · 27/04/2021 23:56

One of my most comforting memories pre-lockdown was sitting in the pub with about 6 other women, all late 30s/early 40s, getting the tweezers out. It was liberating 🤣🤣🤣

Fallen eyelashes was the term we went for. Was a glorious bonding moment.

Butwasitherdriveway · 28/04/2021 00:03

On a slightly related subject

I dont know how to describe this
so I'm now in my 30s and have got large dark circles where the hair holes ( :D ) are in my legs. and much more visible veins.

Normal?

CervixHaver · 28/04/2021 00:03

@Ducksurprise @MrsTerryPratchett Surely a tiny little blob hair removal cream is what you need in this situation?

Butwasitherdriveway · 28/04/2021 00:03

i hadn' even thought about that
CaffeineAndCrochet · 28/04/2021 00:05

Mid-30s, and been getting them for at least 10 years.

What I'd love to know is how I can run my hand over my chin on a Monday and it'll be lovely and smooth, and yet two days later, one of the little buggers appears and it's about half an inch long. How do they grow so fast?!

lemmein · 28/04/2021 00:06

I have an agreement with one of my mates that if either of us is ever in a coma the other one HAS to bring tweezers.

Whilst I'm healthy (and conscious) I light those bad boys up with my phone torch and pluck away 😎

dontblameme · 28/04/2021 00:28

Loving this thread! I had my moustache and chin lasered 2 years ago and after 6 sessions and initial success, I'm sad to say the feckers are all back! Tweezing is def the way forward.

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/04/2021 01:06

You'd think but tweezers is more satisfying.

Wax the moustache though Wink

PandemicAtTheDisco · 28/04/2021 01:53

Bleaching the tache is a waste of time.

You end up with a blonde tache only slightly less noticeable - how is that any better?

Waxing with little strips left me red raw for three days and lots of spots appeared. Nice!

littlepieces · 28/04/2021 02:34

Mid 30s and I've half a dozen thick black ones I've had to tweeze out every other day or so for the past few years. Nowhere else on my body do I have hairs so dark and coarse, it's bizarre! I've noticed a lot of finer hair under my chin/on my neck recently too. If it gets worse I'll consider laser treatment. DP has noticed, he doesn't care, and I shouldn't care, but it's still a bit embarrassing Blush

LuvMyBubbles · 28/04/2021 02:58

I have tweezers in the glove box, bedroom, bathroom you name it! Always find one at the worst time :(

Beelzebop · 28/04/2021 03:51

Does anyone else notice the white ones are coarser? They cause havoc with my skin!

salsmum · 28/04/2021 04:10

I went to have my eyebrows waxed yesterday was only £5!!! So glad I had my mask on or I would have been asked 'top lip and chin??? and it would have cost a lot more 😳😳🤣

tortoiselover100 · 28/04/2021 04:38

I used to put my partner on 'chinwatch' and he would tell me when I had one so I could pluck.

littlepieces · 28/04/2021 06:12

With laser treatment, how can you find a reputable place? So many clinics with hundreds of obviously fake, glowing reviews.

Clementine183 · 28/04/2021 07:15

I have loads and have done for years (now 41)... for me I think it is an unfortunate side-effect of Mediterranean heritage in my family, though the hair on my head is actually quite light and I have pale skin. So just inherited the copious body and facial hair then... great.

I use the tweezers regularly, think it's the best short-term fix. I use Veet or something similar on the upper lip, that works fine for me but it doesn't last long. Would also be interested in researching longer term options but don't know where to start...
