Nude tights still a no-no?

I'm assuming yes and I hate the thought, but I'm struggling to find a leg covering to go with spring dresses, boots/trainers that isn't heavy opaques.

Do I just give up and go with the opaques?

I like them. The thin, darker colour ones so I look tanned not pasty.

I get my legs waxed so there's always a couple of dodgy weeks between smooth and hairy-enough-for-a-wax.

I am 30 and not at all frumpy. Go for it

I have pop socks too but prefer knee highs under trousers. I hate bare feet in shoes or trainers. I never go bare foot unless in sandals. My feet aren't even that sweaty but it's a no no.

Bloomin' 'eck there is nothing wrong with matt , sheer tights. They just even your skin tone! Nobody knows you are wearing them! I've never looked at anybody and thought "blimey, their nude tights are such a no no".

I’m obviously a prude! I’d never go knickerless, especially not with a skirt.

I think you've read angst into a fairly idle question! Like many I've steered clear of the things for years due to associations with horrible American tan, too-thick monstrosities - but saw a couple of bright young things wearing some sheer ones under shorts the other day and wondered if they were having a moment again because we're spending more time outdoors.

I bought a couple of decent pairs yesterday and they are indeed my legs but smoother. Conclusion: think this will work without bringing an 80s office vibe to what should be cool flowy dresses with trainers.

American Tan was worn with mini skirts in the 70s. I hated them, but I did wear them As a consequence, I have avoided nude tights like the plague since then. This thread has inspired me to check-out the modern version and buy some 🙂

It's because they're not.

I'm 30 and every woman I know where's them and has done at least since I was a teenager! And lots of these are the glam 20somethings who seem to be the groups the fashion industry based trends on.

They were lucky charity shop finds - one pair M&S, one pair Golden Lady, both 50p.

@sanfranfibber - I was being ironic. I just wear what I like and feel comfortable in.

I always wear nude tights. My legs glow in the dark I'm that pale. No amount of fake tan would make any difference. As long as they are matt no one can see them. I love them.

What's wrong with nude tights? I've always worn them. Personally I think they are better to lol at than pale, veiny, blotchy legs but what do I know!?!

You need the Wolford nude micro fishnets, they're amazing. They give that airbrushed effect, making your legs look really lovely with naturally smooth even skin.

@StarlightLady you can get nude tights without toes - they have a stitch between big toe and other toes a bit like a flip flop - they are a game changer! Tights on so legs look good, with toes out to show off painted nails.

... Was going to say, I'm also definitely interested in the nude micronet idea - used to bloody love fishnets in my pre-middle age, pre-mummy days

I’m in my 20s and I wear them - I don’t and won’t use tanning products. I just got a couple of new pairs from snag and they are brilliant, so flattering.

Following a visit by the style police l appeared at the Free Fashion Magistrates Court. I was represented by Bespoke Freestyle QC Silk.

On the charge that wearing nude tights was criminal, l was found not guily. The judge concluded in her summing up that it was timeless decision rather than a fashion crime.

On the charge that wearing tights without knickers was damaging to others, l was found not guilty. The judge ruled it was a long established life style choice and not visible to others. In addition several other witnesses were called.

On the issue of wearing a polyester top, the judge concluded there was a lot of cheap, environmentally damaging cotton on the market, which shrunk on the first wear and was impossible to iron.

So l was aquited of all charges. 💃 😂

Those Snag ones in Vanilla Marshmallow look quite yellowy to me. Are they more natural looking IRL?

I thought so too. I am interested in sheer tights that genuinely look like I am not wearing any, and those Snag ones don't do it for me. Any brand recommendations anyone?
