I thought the Q code carries the order information so it would need to be returned exactly as it’s sent.

Exactly. I checked and it carries what is in the order and your details.
neveradullmoment99 · 03/07/2021 22:50

I am using the parcel label though. It has a code on it that links with your order.

AuldFox · 03/07/2021 22:58

What a pain! I now have to do 3 separate returns bah.

neveradullmoment99 · 03/07/2021 23:00

I just did it with the print out label. It was just as easy as before tbh. I printed out a copy of my order from the website and tossed it in the parcel.

We have to pay for returns so 3 returns is a waste of money when before they could all go back in one parcel (and waste of time as well repacking into 3 parcels) And I’ve almost run out of tape. Grumble grumble.
neveradullmoment99 · 03/07/2021 23:55

Oh dear, yes that is very annoying. My return was free. No idea why as it was a sale item?

neveradullmoment99 · 03/07/2021 23:58

That would actually really annoy me and totally put me off from ordering! I would grumble too. In fact I remember grumbling loudly when i ordered a coat in the sale years ago and it arrived and I had to return it. It arrived in a box and they were very fussy about returning it in the original packaging. It cost me so much money to return it I wrote to complain and asked them if I could return big items in a postal bag. They said that was fine.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2021 00:00

This label says tracked 48. Even for those with Kindred I was told not that long ago that you didn't get free returns with sales.

Blossomtoes · 04/07/2021 00:11

That’s why I always pay with PayPal @AuldFox. You can claim back up to 14 lots of return postage a year that way.

Toast really annoys me with postage. You can order £300 worth of sale clothes and have to pay delivery and return postage, while it’s free on non sale orders over £125. It’s part of the reason I try to order from JL.

Countmeout · 04/07/2021 03:54

The label is Royal Mail prepaid tracked 48. I fully expected them to deduct the £3 in my refund but I was refunded in full. Not sure if that was because I paid PayPal. I thought you had to organise postage through PayPal if you want to use their (PayPal’s) free returns thing. I didn’t put anything in with it. Zara uses the same system but probably more efficiently.

faustina · 04/07/2021 05:37

I thought we paid £3 for sale returns, kindred included? I don't mind paying the odd three quid to be honest, though in return I do wish they would have more indications (photos etc) of how things fit as there is such a sizing problem. Like Neveradullmoment I also remember ordering something very heavy (boots) once, before the £3 returns, and having to pay an absolute fortune to return them

Anyway, my refund for the spice tapered trousers came a couple of days after taking them to the post office. the size 6 Oxford yellow dress arrived yesterday and is perfect (still more than amply oversized!), and I managed to generate a return label easily yesterday for sending back the size 8. Hope everyone else resolves their problems!

Gonegrey31 · 04/07/2021 07:21

I haven’t had to pay for any returns. The pre paid labels have been emailed to me once I had registered online that I was returning an order .
The linen wrap dress arrived yesterday . I sized down from my normal size and this was the correct decision. However there is no zip on the dress and it is not a true wrap dress - you have to pull it over your head . It therefore creases badly and I’m returning it for this reason. Shame . In other respects it is a lovely dress, good weight of linen and the matching belt makes it.

AuldFox · 04/07/2021 08:10

Ah, I did return a dress already with a generated label and expected the return postage to be deducted from my refund. I didn’t pay anything at the post office. If that’s the case again, I will at least grumble less if I get free returns again. I’m still annoyed that I won’t be able to just make one returns parcel, using one of their huge bags. I didn’t know about the PayPal thing, I’ve used that for one of my orders.

Does anyone know if they accept sale items for refunds in the shops? That would be least faffy for me.

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2021 08:27

@AuldFox they told me on the chat that you could return to store. I am planning on trying later today, so will report back.

AuldFox · 04/07/2021 09:42

Thanks @ScottishMouse hope you are successful!

ToastCosILoveIt · 04/07/2021 09:49

Last time I checked instore, you couldn't take back to store if you had paid online via PayPal.

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2021 10:23

Oh rats, I think you are right @ToastCosILoveIt. I always use PayPal. Will be passing the Toast shop near me later anyway, so will try. It’s an item from an order that I have already returned some items from, so who knows if I can even make another return label.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2021 10:30

No shop accepts returns in store using PayPal.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2021 10:30

John lewis don't either.

Blossomtoes · 04/07/2021 10:37

@neveradullmoment99

John lewis don't either.
But they offer free returns so there’s no point in paying them via PayPal. I only make a point of it when I’m going to get clobbered for return postage. It’s good to see Toast isn’t making a deduction from refunds, despite saying they will on the website.
dudsville · 04/07/2021 11:22

I've been swanning around in this all weekend. I bought in a previous sale. I love it so much.

Hm, just realised mine has a different collar. It's this one.

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2021 12:15

Just returned my item to store even though I used PayPal. They are linked up to the online system so they just take it back, put it through the system and you get refunded automatically, no card required, and no worries if PayPal. Will report back when it actually all goes through ok, because I have left with no receipt and no jacket!! Seems risky.

ScottishMouse · 04/07/2021 12:38

And that’s the refund emails from both Toast and PayPal come through.
There were also some new items in store. Lovely autumnal colours. Just a few things though, but the ones that jumped out were a lovely blue check shirt dress, and also a shirt in the same fabric, and a really gorgeous check dress in olives, browns, wines with a round neck and an interesting tie thing at the waist. Also a skirt in that fabric. And a pair of trousers that looked a lot like the linen cotton ones that everyone has been buying in the sale but in a kind of rough slubby indigo fabric. And the lovely Francli phone case (which I have and use every single day) in a gorgeous wine colour.
