I used to love Aussie 3 minute miracle as a cheap fix but hadn’t used it for years. It used to be lovely and thick and my hair always felt a bit better after using it.
Bought a bottle last week - what have they done to it?! Horrible watery rubbish that did nothing for my hair.

Ghd curling wand - now I love a ghd product but this does nothing for me.

Rosehip oil - paid about £40 for a tiny bottle of this when it was all the rage a couple of years ago. Did absolutely nothing for me.

OP posts:

Interesting! I got given a bottle of Chanel no5 at Christmas and thought it musty and that it had gone off. Perhaps that is the smell then.
Agree with Ordinary products although for some reason I always end up knocking them over before they’ve finished so not tried a bottles worth of slime.
Hair dye remover. Tried a few on my over dyed dark hair. Couldn’t see a difference.

Thewinterofdiscontent · 04/04/2021 23:44

Emelis bath and body stuff. Not keen on the smell and it makes me itch. Pink mud scalp and skin stuff is ok.

KitNCaboodle · 05/04/2021 09:21

Oh I love the Hourglass mascara and Ambient Light. Also the corded Shark hoover.

Agree with CT lipsticks and as much as I wanted to love the Tuesday perfumes, they’re just not for me.
Same as Jo Malone. One wore off within half an hour and Pomegranate Noir stank like it had gone off.
Collagen tablets. They make me gag and I’ve really not seen any improvement on my skin.

washthem · 05/04/2021 09:22

@KitchenFairy

The Ordinary. Vastly overrated, I’m convinced they had people posting on here constantly at one point to rave about it.

Reimann P20 Once a Day sun screen - nope, burnt to a crisp.

Which product? There are 100s
TableNiner · 05/04/2021 10:38

Agree about Eborian CC cream, too dark in the light shade. Only two shades so not sure how that was ever going to work really.

dividedwefall · 05/04/2021 10:49

I agree with the P20 being rubbish, and also it ruins everything white it comes into contact with turning it a weird green colour.

Bettina500 · 05/04/2021 11:05

The original Nivea in the blue pot brings me out in spots.

Simple products bring me out in blocked pores and under the skin bumps.

Aussie shampoos and conditioners, don't do anything for me and aren't worth the price.

MUA products everyone raves about are all cheap rubbish.

Nearly all mascaras are giving my panda eyes at the moment, worn mascara for twenty years and not a problem until recently.

Everything I've ordered from Avon recently has been rubbish; dried up mascara, smudgy liquid eyeliner, eyeshadow gives me sore eyes, lipsticks that don't last...

Fortunefavours1 · 05/04/2021 13:32

This thread is going to save me so much money.

W3dontdoduvets · 05/04/2021 13:45

@GeidiPrimes

Hourglass mascara - only any good if you like gunked up spider lashes.
Came on to say just this, so disappointed with my hourglass mascara, clumpy and doesn’t lengthen a jot.
Katyy · 05/04/2021 13:48

Molton brown flipping rubbish, used to be lovely about 10 years ago but feels watered down now.

HermioneMakepeace · 05/04/2021 13:59

Bio oil. Found it very drying and it smells sort of dreary and hopeless.

Grin
HermioneMakepeace · 05/04/2021 14:00

Eve Lom. Used to love the Cleanser and the TLC Cream. But over the years, they’ve swapped the good quality ingredients for more and more cheap, synthetic ones. Theirs products are rubbish now. Greedy bastards.

Wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 05/04/2021 14:04

Touche Eclat gave me scaly skin under my eyes.

P20 was greasy and smelly.

It could mean you miss out on nice stuff too. There are things here that some people hate that I love.
FreshFaceTime · 05/04/2021 14:56

@Alsohuman yep. Loads on here that I love!

HesSpartacus · 05/04/2021 15:11

I've forgotten the brand but - lipstick in black cherry. Everyone raved about it on Mumsnet a few years ago. Made my mouth look like a cat's aresehole.

Sisley eyeliner - so hard it hurts to put it on.

Urban Decay lipstick - lovely colour but goes on unvenely (how??? you had one job...) so you have to go over your lips about 5 times to achieve normal coverage.

Unpopular opinion: I love Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks.

JMAngel1 · 05/04/2021 19:06

you had one job... love this Grin

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 05/04/2021 19:52

Molton Brown - glad to hear that I'm not the only person who can't understand the hype. I genuinely prefer Baylis & Harding.

CT - some of the products are OK, but I've never repurchased anything from her. It's all a bit meh. And all the "Mwah Dahling" stuff from CT herself sets my teeth on edge.

Blue pot Nivea is vile - like smearing cold, thick cottage cheese on your face

MummytoCSJH · 05/04/2021 20:21

Shape tape concealer. My skin is too dry for it!

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 05/04/2021 22:23

Oh, and all mineral powders - a faff to apply properly and they never look as good as liquid foundation.

ChrissyPlummer · 05/04/2021 23:09

Bare Minerals - no coverage, no staying power.

Tigi Bed Head - I loved the old range and miss Superstar SO much. I find the new stuff (Rehab?) not at all as good.

SheeshazAZ09 · 05/04/2021 23:12

A second vote for olaplex. It made my scalp dry and itchy. I returned the product with a letter explaining my experience and got a refund.

Prettybubblesintheair · 06/04/2021 14:27

I’ve just bought Mac studio fix. Good colour match but such a mediocre foundation, w7 is better!

DemobHappy · 06/04/2021 15:47

Retinol. I just don’t understand what difference I’m supposed to see? I used three different brands/strengths, all raved about on skincare sites, over about 18 months...and I swear my skin looked worse?!

Followed all the rules, wore SPF50 religiously (which I always have done) and was patient...if anything my skin just looked drier and redder and fine lines appeared worse.

Went back to a simple skincare routine with occasional use of Alpha Liquid Gold and within a couple of week my skin looks miles better and more hydrated.

Does it just not work for some people?

ILoveYourLittleHat · 06/04/2021 18:00

I wouldn't be without Touche Eclat!

Hated EL Double Wear.
Most Bb creams are too dark for me.
