I used to love Aussie 3 minute miracle as a cheap fix but hadn’t used it for years. It used to be lovely and thick and my hair always felt a bit better after using it.
Bought a bottle last week - what have they done to it?! Horrible watery rubbish that did nothing for my hair.

Ghd curling wand - now I love a ghd product but this does nothing for me.

Rosehip oil - paid about £40 for a tiny bottle of this when it was all the rage a couple of years ago. Did absolutely nothing for me.

Thanks for the scandal eyes rec!

woodhill · 03/04/2021 14:02

@Geamhradh

Yes and you never see a really bad review of most products. They want us to keep on buying and the reviewers probably receive free products etc.

They change the formulas as well so it is really difficult

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll give that one a try Smile[/quote]
I did look at the reviews and people are moaning about keeping it sharp. I would agree you need a good sharpener but it depends on what you are hoping for. I just line my top lids to give definition. I don’t use it to try and do a flick or anything.

Purplecatshopaholic · 03/04/2021 14:26

Everything by The Ordinary except their Caffeine solution and Natural Moisturising cream does not even reach the dizzy heights of Ordinary.
Dior nail varnish is shit - chips as soon as you look at it in a funny way. Good old Rimmel still comes up trumps there - currently wearing pillow talk (a pale blue) that I love.
My corded Shark is ace! Heavy though. I can’t get it up the stairs so have a cordless Dyson that lives up there..

shivermetimbers77 · 03/04/2021 14:33

Niacinamide: always gives me spots!

Steptoeshorse1965 · 03/04/2021 14:34

Gorilla glue, any glue where you have to wet both surfaces before you start is crap to me, it foams too. No good. Cillit Bang is crap as well. There are more.

Appletreehat · 03/04/2021 16:13

@MabelMoo23 thanks for the tip on HA - I knew to apply moisturiser afterwards but not to put on damp skin or spritz.

I've been using a Vit C serum the last few months & love it, can already see a positive difference to my skin. May try again with the HA.

Fkrkrodps · 03/04/2021 16:22

L’occitane. I hear so many positive things about it, but I was given a gift set and was very disappointed. The packaging was cheap, the scent almost non existent and the product itself was nothing special at all.

beguilingeyes · 03/04/2021 19:04

Whoever said Molton Brown...very, very yes. Really average stuff.

JMAngel1 · 03/04/2021 20:05

@Steptoeshorse1965. I think you may have wandered into Style and Beauty without realising it Grin

DeusEx · 03/04/2021 20:14

@SallyCinnamon3009

GHD curling wand -rubbish

Just got some Lancôme hypnose mascara that I've been wanting to try for ages - it's rubbish no better than a £10 L'Oréal one

I love the ordinary though 😉 especially their foundation

They changed the brush - that used to be an amazing mascara!
AgentCooper · 03/04/2021 20:23

I didn’t like Double Wear foundation either. Thankfully I didn’t buy it, was just given a sample (after handing over my email address) but it felt so much heavier than expected and smelled too soapy to me. And this was DL light.

SaintReatham · 03/04/2021 20:26

I wanted to love Elasticizer but now I've found It's a 10 hair mask I can finally admit to myself that it's not that great. Ditto the PK shampoo/conditioner I got in a QVC special offer.

No hair growth magic vitamins have ever worked for me, despite willing them too.

Lacura waterproof mascara - claggy and horrible.

Booboobadoo · 03/04/2021 20:29

Bio oil. Found it very drying and it smells sort of dreary and hopeless

clary · 03/04/2021 21:24

Milo bath oil - I wanted a luxury bath product and reviews in newspapers and mags said this was lovely and left skin smooth and smelling great...I can barely tell it's in the bath and there is zero fragrance afterwards. Cost £20+ too.

SunsetBeetch · 03/04/2021 22:02

Eww yes. Like cheap and nasty soap.

Don’t disagree BUT it does wonders for stretch marks, I’ve found.
BatleyTownswomensGuild · 04/04/2021 09:27

Glossier stretch under-eye concealer. Promises much, can see absolutely no difference between that and cheap High St stuff.

(For all their claims about collagen enhancing, pro retinol, vit-c formulas etc) I've never found any posh facial moisturiser that tops Aveeno (£12 for a huge tube that lasts months.)

MyBug · 04/04/2021 10:26

@BatleyTownswomensGuild I was going to try out the Glossier. Is it really that rubbish?

HundredMilesAnHour · 04/04/2021 17:33

Too Faced's Better Than Sex Mascara - must be pretty crap sex then! It was recommended to me by one of the Sephora staff. First time I wore it, it slid off my lashes and I looked like a panda within about 15 mins. It went straight in the bin.

Erborian CC cream - I love the BB cream so tried the CC cream. It turned me orange. Another straight to bin purchase.

Clarins Beauty Flash balm - never noticed any difference apart from to my bank account

Molton Brown used to be great back in the 90s but it was bought in 2005 and since then it's been a race to the bottom. Sad really. Similar to Kiehl's when it was bought by L'Oreal in 2005. Another great loss.

HundredMilesAnHour · 04/04/2021 17:34

Oops, sorry Kiehl's was bought in 2000. Bad typing by me.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 04/04/2021 18:43

@MyBug - generally happy with most Glossier products. But the concealer was really nothing special....

Chimboo · 04/04/2021 18:53

Olaplex - made my hair brittle and irritated my scalp so badly that I’ve still got flakey red itchy bits six months after stopping.

Urban Decay Lash Freak mascara. Absolutely awful and I don’t think it’s because I “can’t get the hang of the brush” I think it’s just terrible 🤦🏼‍♀️

Nars tinted moisturiser. Made me orange!

seensome · 04/04/2021 19:17

Dyson air wrap and GHD curing wand, maybe curls just aren't me but I wasn't that impressed.
Estée Lauder double wear foundation, far too thick and heavy if you want a natural look.
Too faced make up is over priced, I'm a fan of luxury make up but too faced seems cheap to me.
Aveda shampoo, smells gorgeous but doesn't do anything for my hair.

Ohpulltheotherone · 04/04/2021 19:31

Vieve lipstick.

Gorgeous consistency- AWFUL colour. Looks amazing on her of course, the swatch online looks nothing like that colour irl.
£19 I’ll never see again. Can’t even sell it cos of covid - it’s almost untouched Sad
